Alfa Vaporizer by goboof

Yeah, the guy at GotVape said there were two problems with the original ones, a software glitch that made it think it was overheating so the unit won't heat up, and also a heater issue. He didn't specify exactly what the heater issue was.

He also said that both issues had been addressed by Goboof. They had many returns from the original batch (he was actually surprised that mine lasted three months) but since they received the newer units they haven't had return problems. So I thought that was encouraging.

So off it goes this morning. He said as soon as they receive it they will ship out a new one.

I had to send my unit back twice to GotVape , the company had lied to me when I 1st sent it in saying it needed a 2nd update after I was told the 1st one was applied. It arrived back to me with a note saying the temps were raised by 45deg each setting wich was not my problem. The unit would stop heating after a bit and would not take a charge. After my 2nd time sending back a girl called me back stating nothing was wrong with it and that goboof was sending me a new unit from Ireland with a attitude. I spent $200 of hard earned money on this. There was def something wrong with my Alfa or I would have never sent it back. I never recieved a new unit , I'm out $200 fighting this with my cc company. I politely asked for a refund the 1st time it arrived broken and got the worst customer service ever , they just wouldn't budge , I said it arrived broken and I never got to use it and they said once it's used there's no refunds. I told them I never even got to use it. Worst experience I have ever had and learned my lesson , I will now use Randy at puffitup as this forum recommends , he will take anything back if your not happy with it, no hassle. I am glad some of you here are having great success with yours , I wish I could have had the same Bc this seems to be such a small and cool vape if working properly. Wish me some luck that someday I get my money back.

Sounds like you had the full GotVape experience there Justpassedu, sometimes their CS flat-out sucks.

I received the wrong vape from 'em once and they tried to make out that it was somehow my fault.

Yeah that's pretty much what happened . Through it all I was so nice , I get the feeling that GotVape has children running there operation. I never had such a bad experience I feel robbed. At 1 point while I was on the phone with a guy named Alan there and asking for my refund he was trying to fight with me over the phone stating it would come out of his pocket. I said please just refund me and send the unit back to goboof I'm sure they will refund you for the unit since you prob purchased so many wholesale. The 1st time I sent it back I was at 1 point told I'd get a refund only to have the same vape arrive at my door not fixed properly. I was lied to and cheated. I will forever take this forums advice and use puffitup for all my purchases. I learned my lesson the hard way. Just hoping the cc company pulls through .

Yeah honestly if there was any other retailer selling the Alpha when I bought mine I would have probably not ordered from GotVape lol... they do have quite the reputation for incompetence.

Whats the output amperage on your power bank out of curiosity?
Max is 3A, it's the 9600mAh Anker Astro2 (great portable battery btw)

How often do you drop your vapes?
I've dropped the Alpha maybe 3-4 times, once was standing height onto a hard floor, seems to hold up well!

Normally I try to be very careful with electronics, I treat the Alpha just like I treat the $10k Flir camera at work, but despite my efforts the Alpha is just so small and my hands are not

Yeah iv'e dropped my Alfa a few times and it's fine. Quite a sturdy device. I keep loosing the mouth pieces though which is really annoying. I think I have a hole in my pocket

I've had an Alfa for around a week and I'm not getting great results with it so far. It only produces very thin hits. The only way to get thicker vapour out of it is to pack it very full and tight and then draw on it extremely slowly. This produces somewhat thicker hits but still not all that impressive, and I don't get a huge amount out of it compared to how much material I have to put in to do this. On top of that, with a full battery it takes around 43 secs to get to the low heat setting with an empty oven, and about 50 seconds or more with a full oven.

I've spoken to Goboof and they've said I can send it in for testing and then repair/replacement as necessary. Judging by user's experiences in this thread I think it's reasonably clear that I have a faulty unit, but I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions before I send it off?

If you are not impressed, or getting good hits, then something is wrong with the unit.

I have had mine since November and in continues to amaze me.

Just curious, just make sure that the pathway is clear. When I got mine, it still had the screen in the MP. After a couple of uses I wasn't getting any hits, I thought it was broken, but it was just clogged.

You mention using Alfa on the low setting, this settings doesn't do it for me as I only run it on medium and then finish at high. Try packing a few small nugs to fill bottom area then pack fine grind on top to 75% full using medium heat. If that doesn't work return it.

I have to say, even on Low setting, I get at least 3 good hits. The temps are kind of high for the labeled settings,

Low: 190/374 F
Mid: 210/410 F
High: 225/437 F

The above temps are from the PDF manual, but online, they are listed as the below, with the top at 446f:

O 190c / 374f,
MID 210c / 410f,
HI 230c / 446f

I have my doubts Alfa is actually running high at 225/30c as it only takes a couple seconds to get there from medium 210c. It is a high temp vape since low at 190c is a medium setting on most vapes I think, a bubbler takes care of this issue for me as it reduces the harshness.

Thanks guys. I've tried various temperatures and packing methods that I got from people who've been getting good results and it's still not performing well. I think the heating time alone shows that there's something wrong with it - the other night it took a minute to warm up with a fully charged battery.

Also, I took a load from the Alfa that had gone dark brown and was producing no more vapour, put it in my Vapor Genie and hit it out of curiosity - massive cloud of vapour. So I'm definitely sending it back.

I can tell it's going to be a very great vape when I've got a working one so I'm not too bothered really, I'm sure Goboof will sort it out, their customer service seems sound.

Still enjoying my Alfa. Had it since release back at the end of 2014 and it's been nothing but amazing since I got it. Tip to all of those Alfa users that have a screen in the chamber area. It gets rather clogged with resin and even though the air pathway is clear the screen is very restrictive. I know it seems rather obvious but it took me a few days to figure it out. Happy vaping all!

I really feel sorry for anyone who is having problems with Goboof. There customer service is Non-existent. They do not answer emails and if they do it is selectively, i know some have got properly working units that were the lucky 1's here and some have got garbage. Gotvape took my $200 and wont refund me and i sent them my Alfa back. I am pretty pissed and will Never deal with this company again. It cost me $200 to learn the hard way but from this day on even if something cost more i will only deal with reputability company's recommended on this forum. When i had first told Goboof directly of the issue i had received a quick helpful answer stating they would ship a new unit out, well now its a month a several emails to Goboof with no answer. I have waited to long. Please be warned of this company and gotvape. You are taking a chance purchasing and the vaporizer is made in Ireland so any issues that you cannot get worked out with the original company you have purchased from your next choice is direct to Goboof who at least has not answered me.

Yes def gonna call out Goboof here . They won't answer my emails it's been a month since I lost contact with them. Sent three messages and no reply . To top it off they originally gave me a tracking # that said the item arrived to me and it never did. I would think a signature required would have been nice if your shipping something so pricey esp from another country. I hope goboof sees this bc they sure don't see my emails and I used two different email addresses just to be safe.

Ok, if that's the case I understand, I was on top of my tracking number when they sent mine and made sure to be there, don't recall if I signed or not. I do agree signature required should be standard

You've had your say, now it's time to stop posting until you have some sort of resolution. Our policy is to allow one opportunity to state your complaint. Posting repeatedly about the same issue without adding new information is not allowed.

I agree and the new information i had added was that Goboof is not answering my emails for a months time now. That is the new information that has been added . next time i post on this matter i am hoping it is positive and resolved. For now i will not say anything more. Have a good weekend everyone.

I don't blame you for your ire or calling them out, Justpassedu. Your situation is the pits. I hope they hear and get you sorted out.

For me, I just can't get over how great this little vape is. On the go, it's just a fantastic tiny self contained unit of vapor production. I don't have to worry about any parts, adjustments, waiting, or technique. It's all wrapped up in one nice package. At home, it wrecks it on the waterpipe with blissful untethered and highly maneuverable ease. When not in use, it just sits there looking cool on my desk, or in a pocket.

Question, I have a lot of this fantastic honey reclaim building up behind the mouthpiece and probably elsewhere. I've been able to wipe some off with silicone wax tool, and it's high quality, but I don't know the best way to clean this since the top is plastic. Same to throw away all that reclaim, too. Suppose i could rinse the cleaning stuff in iso...

From reading here on this Forum about how "Many Members" like and enjoy this type of Vaporizer...on their positive posts I bought one yesterday from a 'Brick and Mortar' store. The store is located about 40 miles from where I live so when I went to pick it up I decided to spend the nite at my son's apartment and so this way I could take him out for dinner and have a nice visit to boot!!!

Now the only downside is I drove to his place, after picking up my new toy, before he came home from work and plugged it in to charge her up. When he arrived home he informed me that he is not comfortable with my "Using" at his place so I told him I would wait till I got home. He does not partake in the "Art of Using" but does like to drink(Where did I go wrong???)so I do understand and respect his wishes.....

So.....the point of my long story is now I have to wait till I get home today to see how this thing functions...and also it's kind of ironic but I do not imbibe alcohol. For one thing I really do not enjoy the buzz due to my tolerance changing from day to day. And two with the pain meds and Rheumatoid Arthritis drugs I am on...I can not drink!!!

Oh well.....in a couple of hours I will be home and I can then check it out.....I feel like that commercial for Heinz Catsup...'Anticipation'...........

Take care.....Frodo

Well on a some what positive note , i have finally received a email back from Goboof directly. They stated that they will send me a brand new unit out from Ireland with tracking and signature required this time. They also stated that i can deal directly with them via warranty and that i don't have to deal with Gotvape anymore which is a huge relief for me. Now i will be deciding if i want to keep this vape or sell it on the forum when i get it as i have purchased the Air and really like it. Who knows maybe i will give it a shot but glad Goboof finally answered my prayers , well see what happens next and if i actually get a new Alfa. Wish me luck .

So glad to hear this. I have had my Alfa since November and LOVE it. I have found their customer service to be great, they even sent me the new screens at no charge. Hope you get to enjoy it.
