Hello all.
Put an order in for the PA recently but was contacted by MF to say that I could pay a possible extra 16 at customs (PA would be shipped to the UK). I was wondering if anybody else has ordered a PA to the UK and whether they incurred a charge?

yeah Wilf89. Sorry Wilf. I bought mine as two shipments. Whilst double shipping charges, the value of each package was brought below the import threshold, resulting in a net win for me.
But Wilf tried and got totally hammered for double shiping charges, double Royal Mail Handling fee (8 each package) and the same 20% import VAT anyway. I can only guess it was due to currency exchange fluctuations.
So can't advise that route anymore. I also have to say that I have yet to import anything from the US that should be taxed without it being taxed, so IME they're pretty hot on it. Searching google does show up plenty of people who have not been taxed when they should have though. Guess they're lucky.
It's not actually the tax I object to- we all have to pay taxes and it's for the common good. No, it's the compulsory 8 handling fee that Royal Mail adds on that really gets me. It's extortion, and most of the time it's heaps more than the actual taxes are anyway.
I think it's a hit you're just gonna have to take if you want the PA. Most of the US vape stuff doesn't work out any cheaper once it's available for retail here anyway, if anything still more expensive than importing.

My new Head Chef grinder arrived from Everyone Does It today. Shipped fast from the UK. Looks like a great grinder for the LB. Two rows of sharp teeth, and the two halves are held with a magnet. Something the Mix-n-Ball Nano does not have.

I just got my PA and this thing works like a dream. I can't use the highest setting because it gets toasted way too fast! It is quite different from using batteries. Will have more to say as I use it some more.
Also, I got mine with a car adapter. Shipped together, ordered Sunday night, shipped out Monday evening, received Wednesday. Sweet.

i received my PA in the mail this week, and like everyone says, it takes it up even further. I am satisfied with it and believe it's a great addition to the magic flight lineup. i use the mflb for outside of the house. I can see the car adapter i ordered being very handy too. so i can still use the mflb without touching my battery stock before i reach the location I am going to. (usually a trail or park etc...)

Does puffitup have the latest version with that ball installed to keep the cover in place? I want to order their package with just the LB + free worldwide shipping for $119, pretty tempting since I already have batteries and stuff from my 1st LB, just need a 2nd one for when I'm home

Yes they do. I just talked to Randy, and he has the newest boxes (we discussed the fact that I just bought a couple boxes before the change... but you know what- I like rubber bands!)

Yeah, it sucks coz I actually had left a launch box back home in India specifically for using there but i couldn't find it when i went back home :s just seems to have disappeared. Now i'll have to wait 2-3 weeks for the new one

Im cool without the ball feature.
I may have mentioned this here already, but the Buzz Butter that comes with Purple Days works extremely well on the Box. Especially on the mouthpiece hole side, which has just the slightest bit of roughness so it catches bits of lint and fiber from my clothing sometimes, and the
Butter takes that off easily and leaves the wood clean and smooth!

I predict that people who have used the older LBs with no ball catch and try the new LBs with the ball catch will wonder how they got along without it. No more rubber band, no more dumping the contents into your pocket.
That was my impression when I modified a few. It's really, really nice. Does not make for better vape, and is certainly not a requirement. Just nice is all.
Also, my new Chef Head grinder had its maiden voyage last night. Very nice grind for the LB and cheap

i wonder if magic flight will still make some without the new ball design as i like mine just the way it is. a past time of mine is opening and closing the lid on my LB, honestly, the bands dont bother me one bit and i actually take my box out often. every once and a while the band a get caught up in my pocket but other than that its all good.
on a side note i just loaded a generous bowl and a bug came close to me so i blew some air and there went my generous load
good thing theres more where that came from 
.

I am checking one out with the ball now. I think it is very clever.
The guy that has it still uses the rubber band, because that is where he sticks his tube.
I am happy with the regular box. When I get a new one, I also will still use the Rubber band, as that is where I stick my stem when I travel also!

In regards to the water pipe adapter for the Box, I can happily report that there has been significant progress in that project. They are beautiful as well as functional. We are expecting to start the Beta build next week and will probably be able to offer a limited number of these to the FC membership about two or three weeks thereafter. Pictures as well as instruction will be posted here (first time ever photographed!) sometime in the next 7 or 8 days. Stay tuned!

everytime I dumpt out a finished trench I meticulously and quickly go to work with the brush, first I brush the larger amount of finer particulates from the shoulders into the ABV jar, then I brush more and blow into it a few times, then I may or may not use a qtip with alcohol to wipe the screen, and then I always insert the battery and make contact for about 10 seconds, then i blow into it a few more times to get that smoke from the screen all out. At that point I am done and my trench looks almost new everytime!
