I'm ridiculously impressed by their customer service. My bank decided to block my card since it was technically used abroad, but magic-flight promptly let me know (before my bank did, in fact!) and I was able to use an alternate card. And it's shipping tomorrow! :D

For those who have been asking, the PA units that are being shipped at this point are basically production units. We have not finished setting up the purchasing system for them, so things have been delayed there a bit. Should be fairly soon now to get that done.

Fantastic! Is the price going to change? I am going to order one immediately if it is the same or going up.

While the 'just a piece of wood' argument may be valid it's totally worth it. Think about what people spend on 'just a piece of glass,' differences aside, there is little difference. This thing will pay for itself in weeks, maybe months.

i dont mind paying 120 for the mflb, the mflb really does pay for itself rather quickly imo, a matter of weeks in my case but im a combuster rather i was :D

the only knock for me is the PA price being so high, perhaps its warranted but i cannot see myself paying 60$ to make my mflb a home unit. honestly id rather add a couple of bucks and just get a dedicated home unit whose purpose is to be just that, a home unit. i also have something against the PA, the PA just doesnt seem durable to me and that for me is important if i am spending $60 for it. ive broken my share of chargers and what not and usually its not even me its the cord that shorts especially when its so thin(just my experience). i can honestly say the mflb is a durable product, and the mf company is as stand up as they come with all that said ill probably order a PA sometime in the future, when im sure most of the kinks have been addressed lol, for now batts suit me just fine.

true the mflb is just a lil piece of wood, but what a piece of wood it is :D

Hi, thanks to a lot of good fun reading here at FC I just yesterday ordered a MFLB for 100 at vapeworld, and I'm pretty sure it's still going for that, just wanted to let the people shopping for one now know.

It's not my first vaporizer as I have owned a Volcano Digital for over 3 years, but I wasn't aware of all the great advancements that have occurred in the vapor world since, thank you all for the great info here.

After a couple days of reading I ordered a MZ to try out log vapes and their efficiency, a LB for on the go use, and pre-ordered the cloud which seems like it could be the one to dethrone my volcano, I'm really looking forward to trying all these vapes out.

How do I get the smell out of the screen? I already put a drop of iso on the screen then let it burn off(I did this twice).

recommended cleaning of teh screen is detailed in the vaporpedia.

i believe that it clals for leaving the battery in for 30-45 seconds and letting the material burn off the screen. Check in the vaporpedia for more accurate, detailed instructions.

You cant completely clean it, but you can dip the brush in iso and go to work BUT be gentle!! its easy to mess up the screen if you are doing major cleaning.

I would heat the screen up a bit first by just letting it heat for a few seconds, see if any residue burns off, then do the brush+iso scrub. Be sure to let it air dry openly for a while after.

Seems no one got a chance to answer you. I'll keep it short and simple. The batteries you get with the MFLB will be totally fine for you.
There are many different methods for taking hits from the LB, but the most important thing is that you (1) not burn the bud and (2) not draw too hard (if you see movement in the trench, you're pulling to hard).
Onto the actual effects. The MFLB is the single most efficient way I've ever consumed cannabis. Granted I don't have as much experience as others here, and this is only the 3rd or so vape I have tried, but I think most will agree that the MFLB is in the top percentages of pure cannabis consuming efficiency.
Anyway, I had been smoking for quite a while and there was only so much effect I would get from a joint or something. With the MFLB, I can't finish a .1 trench. Maybe I can, but I am literally on my ass. I assume this will go away over time (:() but so far the effects have been very extreme. Since you say you've gotten high once, I strongly suggest it take it nice and slow with your MFLB as it WILL put you on your ass. Figure out how to work it yourself before sharing with friends; friends have a nasty habit of doing it wrong :)

I myself combusted last night, my mom FLIPPED :) Good times await you Quite Earth.

Thanks eddy. Appreciate the help and advice, especially about how to inhale from the MFLB properly :)

Yeah I think I'll be cautious using it for the first time and just go for a small amount, take one inhalation for a few seconds (like I seen that girl doing on the YT video) and then wait to see where I'm at after about 15-30 minutes. I got a feeling my backside and various hard surfaces in my house are about to well reacquainted with one another! I know that my friend gave me only a small amount the last time and I was pretty wasted. We'll see how it goes I guess.

Cheers

Anybody ever been caught using the MFLB in public at all?

Some days ago i was vaping real early in the morning (like 5:30 ) before i went on a school trip to Belgium.
I was on my scooter so i shut it off for a while so i could get my wake n bake before the 3 hour bus ride.

But i got disturbed.. i saw a person on a bicycle coming my way and it was someone from my class.
I started my scooter again..i still had my MFLB in my hand (hiding it as much as i could, because weed is not legal in Belgium and i carried about a gram of Haze) and started driving slowly to meet him because he was on a bicycle.

He asked what i just did, and i said my scooter needed some warmup time because it was still running cold and not going very fast. I even caught him looking at my LB but he didn't question it.

I was safe and vaped in the bus after all:ko:

After about 6 months of having my MFLB, I got overly confident and decided to hit it during my english class....i knew it reeked, but you had to be in close proximity to smell it. My professor walks by the are i was sitting in (plenty of other people next to me), the professor gets a grin and says, "I smell Humboldt!", and continues with the lecture!

Had my Power Adaptor for about a week now and wasn't even sure another glowing review was even necessary but Magic Flight's hand-written note inside and general customer service excellence has made me want to do one anyway.

I love it! Its design fits in perfectly with the Box itself. I can imagine in years to come, when vapourisers are even more popular and numerous, that people will look back on the PA as a bit of a relic, recognising its greatness in delivering hits but perhaps thinking it looks a little 'primitive'. To an outside view, I can see why, but to someone who's grown to love the Box's simplicity and ease-of-use I think keeping the PA design just as basic was a great decision.

Regarding hit quality, a lot of people have said how great it is at delivering chunky clouds, and they're not wrong! However, considering I have my SSV for that, the PA actually becomes a tool for achieving a perfect medium in between hit-size and efficiency. Being able to deliver consistent, steady amounts of just/barely visible vapour (the way I like it to be when I exhale) means the contents of the trench can be made to last for a long time considering it's such a small amount of herb - all the while getting you ripped!

As others have mentioned before too, it makes it much easier to teach people new to the MFLB how to use it.

The only comments (not even really criticisms) I have are that perhaps the PA housing could be made slightly more weighty. Of course I wouldn't want them to upset the design too much, but the cord is thick enough that it will just toss the PA all over the place unless everything is kept nice and stable. Perhaps this has been a slight cause in people's wires coming loose from the housing?

Furthermore, I had never, even in over a year of vaping now, really experienced the 'burnt popcorn' taste that people often describe. Hadn't really seemed possible with my SSV or battery-powered MFLB. However, I have noticed the taste is definitely not as good with the PA, especially towards the higher temps. It seems you have to balance either getting a massive rip which probably doesn't taste so good as it's become so hot inside, or a smaller hit (which I prefer anyway) which still maintains the taste-heat ratio nicely. This is a user-specific issue though, so I'm not suggesting any modification, just pointing out my experience.

All in all, I absolutely love it and would like to congratulate Magic Flight on another excellent product!

p.s. UK potential buyers: Don't request that the PA be sent in two separate packages. I was advised to do so by a member whom I'm sure achieved the desired effect of not having to pay customs himself and told me expecting a similar outcome. I, unfortunately, was not so lucky and found myself having to pay an extra 15 per package when I got to the Post Office. Despite my arguing that this is over half what the PA itself is even worth, you don't have a choice if you want to get your stuff!

Oh no Wilf, that was me! Feel terrible- I can't work out why it didn't work for you? That's about the worst result- double shipping, double Royal Mail Handling Fee/extortion, and the same amount of tax anyway. That then actually makes the PA a ridiculous price (IMO).

What value was declared for each package? On mine purchasing the controller and transformer seperately the value of each package was around 17.50 ish (which was the overall PA value divided by two), and as the import VAT threshold is 18 charges were not incurred. I did all the sums beforehand and I think I saved about a fiver.

Can only guess an unfavourable change in the currency exchange rates maybe?

Anyway, really sorry the tip didn't work out for you like it did for me. Prefer to help folk than give bad advice :|

No worries mate, I did remember it was you but didn't want to call you out by name as of course you were only trying to help. I might have just been unlucky so it might still be good advice for others.
Yeah an extra 30 does make the PA too expensive, but as I said I didn't really have a choice at that point, and it's only money at the end of the day. Will have forgotten about it soon enough, whereas I'll be enjoying my PA for months and years to come.
Don't remember the value on each package, but it was 8 on each for 'Royal Mail International Handling Fee' and then 7.50 each on customs VAT I think. The guy behind the desk at the depot said, "You should have got them to send it in one package." I just smiled and swallowed my urge to tell him to shove his handling fee up his arse.

But, sitting here now enjoying a Saturday lie-in with the cricket on and the PA working its way through some Lemon haze, it really doesn't bother me at all!

it would probably be rude of me to ask what the resistance is across that mesh, and how much wattage is being consumed ...

i still think with the proper throttling circuit a li-ion could kick it up a notch - provide more surface area, or just more power and last longer...but it would introduce that whole hassle of having a separate charger and having to educate everyone to keep it in the garage so their house doesn't burn down from the DSD charger they'll buy off dealextreme, hahaha

imagine an 18650 on a belt clip, with a PA pig-tail going to the MFLB...mobile PA, niiiice

this was an e-cig made by Gummy Bear on ECF...really cool beans i think...

i've seen a 18650 battery holder that has a current limiting pcb installed -- limits current to 1A ... that may be a starting point for testing.

the A123Systems are safe to charge ... a charger is $10.

the Bud Toaster works by short circuiting the battery also, and the software algorithm carefully controls the ramp up in current to limit overshoot -- a burst of 120 amp current causes unuseful overshoot. That being said, it appears the 16ga wire from the battery to the cube limits the current to less than what the battery is capable of delivering if asked -- i say this because the max temperature rise is limited, which i don't think would be the case if there was a copper bus bar. Now, i actually tried a test, but the chinese supposedly A123Systems 18650 cells aren't delivering the same current as a real A123System cell, so testing is ongoing on this point.

Hello All! I've owned a mflb for a little over a year now and the other day I accidentally left the battery in. It was in about 20 minutes before I even noticed to take it out (I remember mentioning to my brother that it smelt like someone was cooking with pot). The trench was loaded and everything turned black. The battery was super hot and even parts of the wood were unusually warm.

I tried cleaning it with isopropyl 91% and a brush as directed but it was just too burnt. I flashed a small light into the hole where the stem is usually inserted. After looking into the launch box through the trench on top I noticed that the wood underneath the lowest part of the trench was a bit singed and blackened. I was hesitant to contact about my warranty because I paid in cash at a headshop in lower manhattan and no longer had the receipt. I decided to give it a shot anyway and contacted Blissville about my warranty and concerns. They asked for a few pictures and the serial ID number located at the top right of the launch box. After giving them my information and the pictures they requested, I was issued a brand spankin' new launch box. It arrived at my door within 6 days of contacting blissville about my first little guys accident. They were overall great to deal with and after receiving my new lb, I find myself even happier and more affirmed in my decision in purchasing a MFLB.

Hey guys, how do you clean the light bulb? It gets darker by being covered with resin and it needs cleaning every few days. Is there an easier way than ear buds?

that's quite odd I've vaped tons of trenches (1000+) and the light has never been discolored in the least bit. the resin all stays on the bottom

and i certainly wouldn't even think about sticking something in there to clean it!!! you're just asking to pop the screen

What do we do when there is too much build-up at the bottom? Send it back to MF? I don't have this problem yet, but there is some resin already after only a few weeks of medicinal usage... It also makes my LB stink like hell. Can't just put that in your pocket.

I'm really curious to find out what others' LB look like after 1+ year of daily usage or how you manage to clean the bottom, if possible at all. Nothing in Vaporpedia about this issue yet.

I was thinking about immersing my MFLB in isopropyl alcohol to soak out the resin before I travel overseas. My guess is that alcohol will probably not be so bad for the metal/electrical bits, the perspex cover or the (?silicone) O ring holding the screen in place?

Wooden barrels have been traditionally used to store grain spirits like brandy, so a good soak in alcohol won't completely destroy the timber, but will almost certainly at least dry out the wood by dissolving the oils - so the box will likely be "dry" and in need of a good oiling afterwards - but most of the resin should be gone?

Anyone foolish or brave enough to try this care to report on the outcome?
