Good point, but of course there are other trade offs.

Absolutely, but I was speaking more in the context of the Arizer Solo itself. There are not any tradeoffs that manifest itself in the user experience; I'm not trying to say that these cells would be ideal for any application.

There always are. There is no doubt a reason why all the makers are using batteries like are used in say laptops, not electric cars. Tenergy (the maker of the pack used in Solo) also sells packs for similar uses, also using the same 'sub standard' 2200 mAh cells. In a capitalist world if it was as simple as using the 'better' battery no doubt some of the makers would to take advantage of being able to advertise longer run times?

Well what it really comes down to is cost. These 2200mAh cells have been in production for a long time, with many well established players in the market to drive down price. Quality 2200mAh cells can be had in volume for less than a dollar each.

Now compare this to the cost of a single NCR18650B cell; and your looking at a several hundred percent increase at volume rates. There is also only one manufacturer of them, and several massive companies who are eating up their supply chain like nacho chips. The demand for these cells are very high, and the supply is low. Capitalism is indeed at play here, and is why this cell has been overlooked in favour of more economical solutions that are 'good enough'.

I understand but just don't agree. The battery cost is a small part of the total in say a laptop. The battery there is highly refined and competitive. As newer technologies allow, we'll see that 'magic formula' shift I'm sure, but we're just not there yet?

What is Apple using in their top end laptop? I honestly don't know, but have my suspicions.

It's not a big deal in the end, one of life's smaller choices. Hopefully an informed one with plenty of attractive options.....including the one you offer.

Regards.

Are there stems that have a smaller load size for the solo? And will a smaller load affect the performance of the unit?
With a domed screen to reduce the bowl size, I get quicker overall extraction too imho.

About centizen packs, 4 months use without problem. Sometimes the yellow leds light go crazy during charges, but I get many sessions and see no problems during use. I still feel I can go through a complete day with one solo. I was close to need a new 3rd solo to go through a day before the hc packs.

Hey all.
So I got my Arizer Solo in the mail today......
Works wonderful. However I don't understand users' comments about 'milky' hits, I mean, vapor isn't milky....
I'm getting great hits and wonderful effect from the Solo. Definitely a good purchase.
Now I'm gonna read about the Centizen HC packs, as I need it to last longer.

BY THE WAY, you all should know the rules about Lithium Ion battery charging.
After reading some articles, I doubt I'll ever use the Solo while plugged in (pass-thru).
Check it out.

I'm interested in Centizen hc battery pack so I can go a full day with my Solo.

I was reading about Li-Ion batteries and thought all you new users should read this article.. and after reading this and other pieces I don't think I'll be using the Solo plugged in (pass-thru)...

Idk about you but I get pretty nice milky clouds off my arizer, maybe it's the material you're using? or try vaping at higher temp?

jhook with an ashcatcher and my pvhes gong on level 6 literally white walls the bubbler for a least 2 or 3 pulls. you can always try different packing densities or change draw speed to achieve the illustrious "CLOUDS"

Sorry guys, it posted twice somehow with that Link error I had.
Ummmm
SO yes the cloud in the tube is milky...
So I suppose if I used a GonG or similar apparatus I'd SEE the cloud I guess...
Ok.....
Well thanks for the input !
:)

Yes , most of the Milky comments were in relation to using it with
water gear . And I totally agree . The higher temps can offer dense vapors for dry hits .

Enjoy your Solo Experimenting .

I get a lot of clouds on level 4 and 5 with my newer model Solo with dry flowers. It looks pretty milky to me. I also get the same vapor clouds with my older model. The lower temps the clouds are not as big. Bigger clouds with the Pinnacle Pro WT, which is cheaper than the F Bomb.

The bottom line is, how well does it medicate? If your unit doesn't medicate well on heat level 4 or 5 maybe there is something wrong with the unit? If it's vapor clouds, also check out the herb that you are using, make sure it's dry but not too dry. I grind mine, but not everybody grinds theirs, some use bud.

Edit: Big huge clouds don't always indicate that it's going to medicate any better. I have had some big clouds with some terrible tasting, inferior herb.

We just vaped some fresh mint from our garden. A couple of leaves went a long way.

At level 2, you get the menthol flavor, while 3 gives a deeper taste, with a bit of spice, almost like cinnamon. It's like inhaling candy!

You don't need to dry it. Just cut up some fresh leaves with scissors, pack the bowl lightly, and suck away. After the taste is spent, the little ball of dried leaves drops out easily.

It seems to leave some condensation on the sides of the stem, which is left minty fresh. I personally consider this a feature, but I'm sure a soak in alcohol would remove it.

I can wait to try it with a bit of orange peel.

I suppose my firefly could have worked, but probably not as well. The solo lends itself to this perfectly.

All kinds of herbs can be used with the Solo, either in combination with the other herb or alone. I have used fresh sage, rosemary and thyme as well as mint. The effects vary. I remember one of them was almost like a tranquilizer.
They all tasted---well nice--in their own way. A treat for your taste buds. Enjoy your Solo.

i just came across the Vapormax V Flowermate, a Chinese build vape for under 100 bucks.
the temp is not adjustable, but I read (here in FC) it's a good vape for it's price tag.

has anyone one of this units to make a quick solo vs flowermate review.... (if that's even possible  )

Id just throw in another $30 for the solo tbh. the solo has proven itself to be one of the most powerful and easy to use vapes and for the extra 30 you get the warranty and temperature control. much more reliable than a Chinese product IMO

So sadly I'm having to return my firewood 2.0 due to a battery fault. I plan on getting a refund rather than a replacement because manual heat control like that was too much effort for me.
Definitely eyeing up the solo, just have a couple of questions.

Firstly, I saw a thread on /r/vaporents warning people that they current models are having a few issues and you'll likely have to warranty it, so you should wait for a newer model to be released. Is this true? Also, is the current model M1T?

Secondly, which is the cheapest way for someone in the UK to get it?

Well the answer seems to be, yes, I'm right about the visibility of my clouds.
Arizer Solo performed perfectly on its maiden voyage, powering us for over 4 hours of portable vape time using connected to bubbler. Awesome. Getting the hc battery from CentiZen next wil make it last 8 hours i'm sure.... awesome. So easy to use, such a great unit. Kudos Arizer.

Solo mates nicely with Swagger's EVO products. Here is a Hydrafoot and Mini Sidecirc with a Solo.

Not true. I found that the newer Solo actually works better than my original because of the increased airflow and faster charging-heatup time.

There are no model numbers-only serial numbers.

What kind of problems? I haven't noticed any.

I definitely recommend it over the firefly.

EDIT: Yes, my model is M1T.

This is a link to the thread: http://www.reddit.com/r/vaporents/comments/267m96/do_not_buy_arizer_solos_right_now/

It seems like they just got unlucky but warrantying things is such a hassle I just wanted to make sure!
