Well, the USPS has somehow turned my 2-day priority mail into 7-day snail mail. As of today, my Okeanos is finally in the correct state, so it should be here Monday. I read something about some water leakage. Has everyone with an Okeanos experienced this or is it only a few cases? Any experience with that, @Sleepin in CA ?
ha me too the tracking said it was out for deliver yesterday at 7:30am so i stayed home all day and nothing came. watched the tracking and nothing happened till 12:30am it was back at the sorting facility so here's to hoping it shows up monday……….. :bang:

Nope no water leakage for me....well nothing I've noticed anyway. But I can relate to the shipping woes. Just had to message G my latest issue. Sigh....I have the worst luck with ordering online.

Hercules SR71/SR74 (including optional Nibbler XL) instructions....

1. Place coil(s) in chamber with rod running down center
2. Prime coil(s) by placing .3 on top and melt it into coil
3. Place additional .3 on top again after melt in
4. Close it up and vape away
5. After initial preheat...15 seconds or a couple rips....3
seconds on and a couple off for duration of each rip.
This prevents oil burn.
6. When done....continue drawing/ripping like normal
without pressing button. This is a cool down, and
should be done until unit is cool to touch.

*If using Nibbler XL after step 4 lube fittings with Vaseline
lightly and slide it on.
**If using the sr71 these directions are for a 40-60% cut coil.
***If using the sr74 these directions(oil amounts) are for BOTH coils.

Ok guys I am trying to get back in the game.

A while ago i purchased a persei from a local shop and had a wonderful experience. I fell away from the persei due to the availability of reasonably priced concentrates diminishing.

I believe i have the older top model and therefore would need a new top if i wanted to purchase and use an sr-74?

I use an old top with the sr71 which draws more power than an sr74.

@Caligula What was ever the problem using old tops with the herc? Just people putting their herc together wrong and blowing out their heads right?

So what is the deal with stacking coils in the SR74? I understand they are a third of the size of the old ones because people used to cut the old ones for different situations. Now that I have the short coils, what reason would I have for using one vs two or even vs three? Does it depend on the concentrate? I usually either have taffy/budder that passes the foil test or shatter. What do people prefer?

Gentlemen I need your assistance, one what's the best method for the sr-74? Can I use the hammer top for the sr-74 or is there a specific head I need to buy? Also I got the core what's the best volt for it?

@ED421 The coils are for different consistencies of oil. Less stable = more coil needed. If you want a larger cloud....use less coil. However, if reclaim chamber is filling rapidly, more coil is needed. It really depends on how long you mash the button vs. the stability of your wax. Everyone is different so you have to find your own medium. My directions above are for a 40-60 percent coil on the sr71, or the two that come with the sr74.

Make sure you keep your contacts clean. I have nailed a Persei top and seen a few people on here who have done the same. It's either screwing it on too hard or dirty contact. Be mindful when you unscrew your Herc, or any cart for that matter, from your Persei. The connector will follow your cart and will break the wires on the inside of the top. Don't screw carts down too hard and mindful when you take them off.

Tried out the Okeanos cart without the bubbler for a couple sessions with my buddies, went through at least a g without any issue. I thought that it didn't hurt my lungs as much as the old one did with big rips and the taste is better, even after extended use, I actually think it starts to taste better after you get a prime going? I'll ISO bath it soon and see if the taste/performance is affected afterwards, the middle part is getting too sticky to turn again.
Coming back home, found out that I received the Persei SS kit along with a 3.7 TI Kiss cart in the mail. :D aww yeah

Edit: forgot to add, I was messing with the Okeanos bubbler last night and I was getting some water leaking issues too, I think I eventually got it to where it didn't leak but the water put in was where it never went close to over the bottom inner circle.

Is there a specific size on the oring?

The titanium Grade 2 heater is a lot better, i cough out a lung every time i use a regular kiss cart, but with the Ti this goes away a bit i dont cough as much but it is not alot.

The tops arent defective, they were just invented before the Hercules cart and werent designed to accommodate its beastly power draw.

Anyway I dont work for W9, so I cant speak as to their policy, but they have been really good about replacing and upgrading tops as long as the place you got it from is an authorized retailer. Id put in a ticket regardless, and will defer to @THC SCIENTIFIC and @nao12000 for more detailed info.

Not quite true. It's not that they cant handle the power draw, they do just fine. It's that they dont have the short protection built-in so if you dont assemble the herc correctly it will fry your top.

EDIT: Also, I called and asked about getting old tops swapped and was told that there really wasnt a need unless you blew one due to not assembling the herc right.

Or maybe.......he does. He is a grown man/boy in tights after all.

Good point, but I think he might be 'fighting over his weight' in the Big House? Lots of serious dudes with time on their hands I hear.

I never bought that 'young ward' thing with Robin either. Too much like the older business man checking into the hotel with his 'niece'.......

Only different.
