Discontinued The Sublimator

@Fresh_Baked -- It would be great if you could try one somewhere first. I think the Sublimator hits different people different ways more so than other vapes due to the way it separates some of the higher temp actives out through the reclaim. If you were into concentrates I would recommend it more highly than for someone who is just using mostly flowers. I go back and forth between this and my LSV (which is very similar to your SSV), so if you are looking for something to completely shelve your SSV, this didn't do it for me but will for others.

Sadly that probably won't happen before I either buy one or get to Amsterdam.

I go back and forth between smoking and vaping because they both hit me differently so I was hoping Sublimation was a good in-between. I don't get much concentrate action around here but I do make my own and enjoy the little bit I do get.

I am looking to use it to replace the other two as a daily driver though, yeah. So thank you for the input.

Just to let you know, I use the keychain kit only. Amazing device. Does flowers and oils. Better for 1-2people rather then groups. Just need a plumbers torch and it works amazing. PM me if you have questions, cuz I'm sure I've said enough in this thread already. Haha

I'm a UFO user too @Fresh_Baked and looked and chose that over any of the Electric Apollo kits to save money because I just wanted to try it out plus all the reports about buzzing timers and loss of wattage reported here. It works great if you are not a clumsy person who can't be trusted to handle a dangerous open flame indoors while medicated, that's the biggest caveat and it eliminates quite a few people.

Now that I've had it as my DD, I am longing for something safer and more "on demand". Originally I thought I might get a Ti or future quartz Apollo, but currently leaning elsewhere towards other vapes. If money were no object for me, I'd probably get the Herbalizer, but I'm going to Beta the Versa Infiniti soon which is much easier on the wallet.

But I'll always have a place in my heart for the sub, it really is a great vape if you can handle it's idiosyncrasies (all vapes have them).

ALSO, I don't have access to any oil or concentrates, just kief, but the SUB makes it's own oil from flower vaping, so if you got one, you would then have access to it more regularly.

Well I was PM'ing shredhead and was under the impression that you could heat the sputnik with a butane torch, and apparently you need a propane torch.

I thought it was supposed to be super portable? I'm pretty sure propane torches are enormous.

Then again, I know zilch about any kind of torches.

You really can't heat it with a butane/dabbing torch though? What about an open flame like a candle?

You CAN use a butane torch, but your not gunna have fun torching that thing for 5 min. The propane gives the option of a huge brushed flame, essential for getting the same results as the Apollo heater.

I just don't trust myself with a propane torch for whatever reason. Butane torches even I've held off on getting because I don't have a dabbing rig and I don't need anything else that makes flames around me.

Not that I'm clumsy, just.. paranoid.

If it still works, just poorly, I might go with the butane torch just to start and then go to a store and look at the propane torches. I'm kind of looking for a quick solution that's fairly cheap that I can order at the same time as the keychain unit so they both get here around the same time.

I tried my gas stovetop and a butane chef's torch at first. It worked, but took way too long. I then immediately went to the hardware store and got a Benzomatic Fatboy kit, it's not that unwieldy, and the heat difference btw that and butane is dramatic. Here's a pic, it cost me about 30 bucks:

Hi all,

Thanks for your patience and opinions well the XLR2.0 was being completed.

I have addressed your concerns regarding the shipping of the old unit in exchange for the new one to Enrico and am just waiting on a response.

His wife and myself (hopefully Enrico as well) will be in Vancouver sometime in the next week or two with the XLR2.0 and will announce some places people can come test it here. This is also the time we will be producing higher quality information videos so if you have a topic you would like covered please let me know.

As for shipping to Europe, this is something we are working very hard to make happen so please bear with us. We also will have retailers very soon in Europe.

Thanks, happy subbin.

Just dropped my hot ufo on the rug....urg...just torched it a bit to burn off and now I'll have to disassemble and give a good scrub, smells like burnt hair. I hope I'm not scaring you off Fresh_Baked but you need to know the risks. I feel like such an idiot... Thank Dog I got a good hit before I dropped it.

Looks like my quadlimator attempt has already been beaten by Enrico here by exactly how I wanted to plan it out! (With all different types of sublimators).

I think it's time for me to try and make a Pentalimator.

I actually think I've already been scared off. Haha. I liked the idea of the keychain unit but I don't think I can handle it.

Can someone please answer me on the candle as a heat source for the UFO? If I could just keep a candle near by and dangle it in there to warm it up I think I'd be alright.

If not, then I think I'm deciding whether or not I think it's worth it to use a butane torch for a while until I decide I like it enough for an Apollo/a propane torch.

Sadly I'm almost leaning towards not buying the thing at all. While I do have some extra cash that I'm willing to spend on a fun new herb toy, it's already a bit more than I want to spend and it keeps adding up it seems with this thing.

Just put a small amount of scissor in the Sublimator Apollo. Talk about terpenes! One of the best sub bowl I've taken in awhile.

Amazing rips.

I think seems relevant right about now.

I am so proud and happy of all of you, i am proud of the fact that this community is so tight that you wont let me slip or fall asleep at the wheel. i need everyone of your input positive or negative we are a new product but together we can make it the best most durable new delivery system, and all of us can walk with our head high knowing that we participated together in the making of it. Together we are the future

I am who I am and your approval isn't needed!
Scissor hash is the bestestes ! (my favorite part of the harvest ;) ) I love the stuff in everything but in the Sub, the terps just explode your senses.

From the pictures and videos I've seen so far it looks like the new timer box uses a standard DC-in connector for the power cord. Depending on the actual power specs it might be possible to run it off an external battery like this one.

Haha I did this ONCE! Never again.... Another reason I love my UFO, just torch it clean!

Ya the UFO kit is an "experts" unit. It's for someone who isn't worried about torches and heat and likes a litte adventure. It's never perfect, but it's damn close. I think a lot more people would be sublimating if they made this kit more popular. Unfortunately people get scared off by the torch...

Yup, another positive for the UFO kit is it is the sputnik heater is a beast in terms of construction. Even if I switch to another vape later, I can see keeping this one a long time in the bag of tricks.

I know this is off topic at the moment but, could somebody tell me where I could get the glass adapter to collect the sublimate, you know the one that you attach to the angle stem in a bong.
Thanks.

You can get them here- http://www.planetvape.ca/subbuddy-reclaimer.html

I thought I wanted one but thought they looked too wonky on the front of my new bong so I been just letting the sublimate go into the water and was not really worried about saving it since I dont really like the more sleepy affect of this type of oil, reclaim , sublimate, resin - what ever you call it... but anyway.....

I started noticing that the sublimate oil would just drop into the water in nice little balls then the ball would start joining together... Then when it was time for fresh water I just scooped them out and put them in a jar......

Wala jar of sublimate! And now the bong gets a good boiling water then 91% and salt cleaning....

Hmmm... looks like the tapioca pearls in bubble tea lol. Since those are decarboxylized, you should throw them in the freezer and make medicinal bubble tea with them later on.

Do you think that you lose a noticeable amount by letting it fall in the water?
