I've started using the jack style glass screens with my pax and I'm very impressed with the results. The screens give me better vapor quality while also acting as spacers so i don't need as much material. It seems like I am getting more vapor without getting as dark of ABV(which in turn allows for longer sessions) by sandwiching the glass screens in between the vaporizing material. I also think the glass screens allow for better air flow.

What are jack style glass screens? Did you completely remove the original screen?

Those things, and no i didn't remove the original screen I just push those jacks into the middle of the loaded pax oven before using my pax. I also make sure to try to pack it as tightly as I can while the screens are in there.

Specifically I get a clump of material that isn't compressed at all and lightly place it in the pax oven, then put those screens in the pax oven with the material and pack it down using a little tool, then start up my pax.

Sounds interesting. Pictures of the oven with the glass screens and material packed in, please?

Okay, I gotcha. At first I read that you pushed them into a fully packed oven and couldn't understand. I learn much better visually. Thanks for the pics. It makes sense as it reduces the volume of the oven.

i take two screens (like in the vid i posted), one is pushing like a spring and the other sits on the bud. So u can compress it all evenly its kinda neat

Which temp do you guys prefer?

I've found that if I start it up on medium, vape until I need to stir it, get one more run out of it, then I'll stir again and switch to high.

This is with hash mind you, but it seems to be getting me pretty smashed.

So I had my first proper vape session with this (had been using hash up until that point) and wow. This device is just amazing.

Personally, I find it incredibly efficient. What I would usually put in a joint, lasted me all last night and I still haven't stirred it. Will easily get another session out of it. I was completely gone.

Also, the taste is what I've noticed the most. Now that I'm starting out on low... the detail in what you can taste is insane.

For me, it's the equivalent of when I switched from instant coffee to fresh beans... yes, in theory you're getting the same buzz, but you don't have all of the nuances in the flavour. I've never tasted anything better, weed wise. Vanilla, lemon, pine, I could taste it all.

I can't actually imagine going back to combusting now. The efficiency, taste, health benefits. There's just no reason to.

I am a Pax/vape convert :ko:

Same analogy that you used. Wait until you use it frequently daily for about a week, clean it, and do the first session afterwords. That's ground to bean coffee right there... as long as you don't use the lube.

One other thing I like - I've only been smoking sativas lately, so it's nice to have the option to switch up to the high setting at the end of the oven. Gives you more of that CBD stone.

I actually really like the low setting though. I still get great vapour out of it, and it just seems to last forever. As I'm sure you've all discovered by now.

Man, if I had this thing 5 years ago, I would have saved so much money haha

Someone said earlier on this same page that the voltage of the charger has to match that of the Pax. For the Pax's specific numbers, look above and then Google the charger you wanna get.

Quick question - Do you guys pack the oven by compressing the ground up bud as much as you can, then keep adding/compressing until it's full?

Or do you just fill the oven loosely once, then pack it down?

Depends on how much I want to have in the oven. I usually fill it loosely and pack down. It comes out to about half an oven when compressed. It's all a matter of preference though, imho.

Cool, thanks. That's what I've been doing. It's surprising how much you can actually fit in there though...

That's what she said.

I'll see myself out.

I would like to find a ceramic/glass pad or disk to put on top of the half full oven for even heat distribution and to keep everything in place.
