Discontinued herbalAire

Just remember when you see all those clouds in demo videos that manufacturers use "e-liuqids" in the chamber and not the materials we usually use in that application.

How do you know that?

If you're gonna makes statements like that around here, sami, ya better be prepared to back it up.

I can get huge clouds with my HA. If I want to pack a lot of herb into the crucible, and be wasteful. I don't usually do that, though.

Yup. He made that statement about ALL vaporizer demo vids, not just the HA. It's just patently false. All one has to do is to look at the various demo vids done by the members here that use just flowers as well as our personal experiences to know that it's just not true.

....my statement was mostly in response to the HA video where its pumping through the gong

But that's not what you said. Not even close. "Just remember when you see all those clouds in demo videos that manufacturers use "e-liuqids" in the chamber and not the materials we usually use in that application.

But even then, unless you KNOW that HA is not using flowers in that vid, there is no way in hell that you can make a definitive statement like that.

But it does make me want my HA back real bad

I clearly stated "manufacturers" not members vids. I was only saying this because thats what it looks like in the vid with the green water pipe.

Sorry i didn't quote which vid i was talking about to begin with

Achhhhh..........The point is, is that if members can get clouds like that with flowers, why couldn't manufacturers?

Ya know, if ya just said something like, "The clouds coming out of that bong are soooo thick that I'm not sure if they are using flowers or oils.......or something else", you wouldn't have heard a peep from me, other than possibly agreeing with you. But coming out with a general statement that is flat out false isn't going to fly around these parts.

Since you must know for a fact and i dont.
I went back and included the word "might"
I will no longer infer I know this for a fact since its rubbing you the wrong way.

Ok, this is the last from me on this.

You not stating an opinion as fact, or not making general statements that are patently false should have absolutely nothing to do with "rubbing me the wrong way", but everything to do with a desire to communicate accurately and if you don't do that, it's going to rub just about everyone here the wrong way.

(although I am kinda of a "GET OFF MY LAWN" kind of guy. :myday:)

I`m so happy :) I finally figured out how to use the whip right... I`m having the herbalaire like a half year or more, but i tried all the times I but did it wrong and got almost no vape out of it - so I prefered bags...
But yesterday, I was packing the crucible half full, made it flat so that it covered the screen mostly, connected the mouthpiece from the bag system on the the whip and WOW! :D I`m so happy and so high... I´m sorry if anybody posted this already, but I just wanted to tell you this...
What an Amazin Vaporizer...

The point is that nobody knows it for a fact, and chances are about 99.9% that certainly not all do, no matter how many you could verify with absolute certainty. All you really have to do for huge clouds is to use high temps in a fully loaded, fresh bowl. Not a good idea to go straight to high temps, but it certainly works for demo purposes.

I didn't know you had an HA Vicki. Good choice.

Anyone happen to have a pic of he insides of a herbal aire? specifically where the wires connect to the bowl?

Salutations CheeseSandwich,

...where the wires connect to the bowl...

It's a closed fresh-air to cannabic path, starting from the inlet teflon connector (located behind) to the main white teflon mouthpiece (the one with a 14 mm compatible round end at the top). So, as a result there's no possible contaminant exposure (from burned wire insulation and such) at bowl level! The 50 Watts HA heating-element seems pretty much standard, reminescent of the soldering-iron era though you get 2 metal barriers insulating your inhalation path from all internals. An aluminium heat exchanger with concentric axial structures surrounds the metal jacket of that "ceramic" heating-element; teflon is present at the top aperture, at the heat-exhanger's base and also under the form of a short bridge mechanically compatible with the HA 3/16" (inside diameter) aquarium tubing system. A pump being optional in this particular configuration that makes the so-called bridge effectively acting as the fresh-air inlet i just refered to, previously. With the heating element correctly positioned within the HA heat-exchanger structure, considering there's a series-connected thermal protector feeding it, i'd say almost every reasonable effort has been made to account for teflon's operating parameters, including temperature. If teflon is OKay at 400 °C then aluminium should cause no serious concerns neither i suppose, which means teflon & aluminium use is probably safer here than in many other products not featured with safety mechanisms...

Anyway, overall the only substances making contact with my fresh-air/cannabic vapour path happened to be aluminium, screening metal (stain-less steel), teflon and PVC. Glass came as a 3rd-party option on the late.

The issues i have encountered with my HA v2.1 had to do with the need to moisturize cannabic vapour and also the time-scale involved, which made me prefer the quick, self-moisturizing, "1 Hitter" mode supported by a modded pipe.

Going digital won't render the HA sexier to me, expecially if the temperature knob is gone. More power in the heating-element, more contact surface in the heat-exchanger around it... That would be a start, ceramic as an interface between metal and teflon would be another.

:peace:

I'm still loving this vaporizer. I have discovered that I get better vapor if I grind my buds vs. dropping them into the crucible whole. It's good that the HA can be used like that. Very convenient! :)

Vicki: I'm not sure if you get "better" vapour from grinding. Cloudier vapour, perhaps, but that's from introducing more particulates in the path, hence more surface area for condensation.

I prefer not to grind, thus getting the most actives into the crucible. The HA will easily extract all those actives, even with whole buds compressed in there.

Using whole buds in the HA crucible works great -- it's kind of famous for it! But it's also kind of silly to pretend like grinding won't expose more surface area and more actives to the heat. This doesn't just mean more particulates are in your vapor -- it means more cannabinoids are, and you're getting more bang for your buck. Anybody can try this at home (albeit subjectively) by weighing and vaping similar amounts of ground vs. unground bud -- see what you think -- but in my trials compressed buds don't come close to nicely ground up ones as far as vapor production AND effect.
