Wow! How'd that happen? Did the pin get stuck to the cart and follow it out?

My suggestion is to send that one back, it's not going to get better on it's own......

I use this every single day for like a year.
Maybe I used it way too much?
Your right time to get it repaired at this point.
Looks like my red PERSEI top will be my main driver for the mean time!

My god, all the collection people gathered of pens. I heard of g pen, atmos, trippy stix, all a hoax and I did do a 2 day research on it, (talking to bob loblaw and thc scientific)

The omnicron and the persei is the only good looking one. I only really wanted a portable just for going outside until I sit down with my sublimators :p

Did you get a herc too or just the persei? You might have to drop some more cash...

I have some old style Persei tops btw. The kind without serial number. I got that Persei used though so no warranty to the best of my knowledge. Would those be suitable for replacement too?

I got what ataxian's photo! At least I think I got what he meant!

Ok guys so there is a slight issue with the Nibblers's airflow.

Since we used the same design from the Nibbler X I made a slight fuck up on not making the changes needed for the airflow, as it stands now the Nibbler works with the Hercules only with an addition of a third oring placed on top of the Hercules.

Please dont worry, i have talked to our engineer about getting mouth pieces made that have the oring placements so no issues will come from that. How ever there will be a slight delay.

Edit: Bob - thanks for being the straight shooter you always have been!

no sweat, i felt like something was off and figured it out this morning. in the video i had no mp, cuz it didn't fit, i thought the thin vapor was due to the top being open so i cut an old herc mp like he has in the pic, realized that wasn't the problem. talked to thc sci and he had the solution. which meant all i needed was the o-ring, and boom, working nibbler. unfortunately whaling on the heat w/ no draw meant my oil leaked into the bottom chamber. when i pulled the nibbler off and started sucking to check for the problem i got the thickest fucking clouds, like choking myself out clouds. honestly it's why i am not trying to shoot vid today (that and i've had little sleep and too much alcohol due to childhood friends in town visiting)

EDiT - all my oil, ha! ended up being not too much oil left and that sucking those plumes down got the bulk (80%) of it. gonna soak clean and start again!:science:

How do inmake carts last longer? My first one burnt out after an alcohol bath and prime(5.0ohm), second one lasted maybe one full use but I'm doubting it(2.4ohm), and lastly my third gave out finally yesterday. These things barely last and I maybe hit it a few times a day since I got it a couple months ago. It mostly sit at home, so I don't understand how they burn out so fast. I let off the button like I'm supposed to...obviously using correct batteries... May just have to save for Hercules with the 4th one I'm on now...

To top it off, my charger shows green light on the smaller batteries when clearly they are dead....

EDIT: My bad, hadn't eaten all day and was cranky. First cart must of been a dud. Second one had gunk blocking connection, and thirds batteries were apparently out. I don't get a flashing light though, it just slowly fades.

All is well now that I'm thinking clearly lol. Sorry.

I swapped batteries in/out until red light came on and charging now.

Means the batteries are broken...

Must be something you are doing... No fault though.

I haven't blown one yet, 13+ grams so fair in 4 carts, 2 2.4, 2 5's

Maybe describe your operation technique and the experts can help. This is abnormal

When you press the button to heat the cartridge does it blink a couple times with the low battery warning? Or does the light stay on and you're not getting any hits?

If the cart isn't warming up at all it's either a bad cart or an unsalvageably drowned one. If the cart is heating up you might be having the problem I had where the wax wasn't melted down all the way. Melted enough to give off a hint of vapor flavor and not taste like dry burns but also melted just enough to keep an air bubble between me and my vapor.

Help us out with exactly what you do when you load them, how you hit them, how you store them when you're not using them, what you have loaded in them, etc

Hey exit, just wondering - if the wax isn't melting enough what can you do about it? Can it depend on the quality/type of wax? I think I'm having the same problem as the other fellow.

Yo so is your wax kinda thick? Not like shatter that gets super almost rock hard at room temp, but pretty thick when it's at room temp. That's what the kind I was having problems with was like. I'd take a pic for you but I can't remember where I put my phone down.

( NOTE I'M TALKING ABOUT F'ING UP CARTS HERE! SO DON'T SKIM THRU MY POST AND FOLLOW WHAT THIS PARAGRAPH SAYS! THANKS! ) So with some of the wax I had before that it was thinner and ran down by itself farther when it got heated but this stuff seemed to barely move unless you had the torch flame pretty much right on it. My "old" way of loading carts was put the torch on full and spin the cart while I was holding it with some pliers, from the load tool to halfway down, until I saw some smoke coming out. It worked SOMETIMES but sometimes the oil would taste burnt and sometimes I'd just annihilate the top heater rendering the cart useless.

( THIS IS THE GOOD STUFF! ) I'm sure you remember my most recent ordeal with "forgetting" how to load a cart and killing 5 in the process trying to load them. Well I know I killed two but I wish I hadn't reclaimed from 2 of those because now I know it was just an air bubble I couldn't beat but would have if I had persisted. I got most of that oil back so whatever. Anyway I was careful to hold the carts in my fingers so I didn't overheat them, but it IS okay to blast the cart with heat in certain sections if it's necessary but keep checking the temp of the cart with your fingers to make sure it's not WAY too hot somewhere, and you're just using the flame/heat gun/whatever to heat the metal to the desired temperature.

So my problem was I would get the oil melted thru the fill tool and then it would look stuck at the entry holes into the cart. I had to put the torch flame closer and for longer around there. It got too hot to touch for sure but the wax had to get melted down. I was careful not to overheat where the top heater was.

( THIS ONE'S FOR YOU TSC.V8 PAY CLOSE ATTENTION :D ) OK this is where the revelation happened and I think what will help you, and might even render your "dead" carts useful. The wax seemed to be flowed down past the top part of the cart and you would assume by that point it was clear. But I kept tasting dry burns. So imagine you are holding the cart from the bottom. That point right above about two fingers high, in the middle of the cart, is probably where your oil is stuck. Take your heat device and heat up that middle part nice and hot (NOT TOO HOT!) for a couple seconds. Then put it up to your ear. If you hear sizzling/the melting of oil, MYSTERY SOLVED. Wait for it to cool down, throw it on a battery, take a QUICK hit because you don't want to dry burn it out if the oil isn't there yet. If you taste a dry burn, REPEAT this step of heating the middle until you hear the oil sizzle, CAREFUL not to get the top or bottom where the two heaters are too hot, until you taste vapor. If this was your problem and you followed my steps correctly you will get a cart that hits BEAUTIFULLY.

I even loaded a second cart like this to make sure it wasn't just luck. Good luck! I hope this solves your mystery!

nice job exit!
looks like you've been listening to OF and learning from your own experiences
i pulled the video, 'cuz it's not a fair portrayal of the nibbler xl.
there is a temporary mod that is in thc's pic, until the production nibbler xl mp comes. it does work and i'll be re-shooting this weekend.

and here it is, i put the new milkshot video first, then added the close-ups of the piece itself from the previous video

booo, they pulled the audio instead of dropping ads on top. lemme do it again, grrr

EDiT - gonna delete it from here while i still can
get video below

Thanks a lot for putting so much work into that answer! I haven't tried it yet but I will as soon as I finish typing this. :)

(to answer your question: I was loading just about every available type of wax, including shatter, into these two 2.4 ohm carts).

Result: I was able to clear a clog by heating the middle of a cart and blowing into the threaded end, with the other end in a glass container to catch the oil (thanks Bob). I then reloaded with a very thin Bruce Banner. Vapor production is still weak to absent, so I guess this cart is toast.

Just to build a bit on what Exit and Bob said about loading, I'm convinced that failure to properly preheat the center of the cart is the major new user loading issue. Couple that with inappropriate concentrates (run a foil test if in doubt) and racing into cloud chasing with high power carts before the system is mastered and you've got well over 90% of the problems covered. Stick with the 2.4s until 'you own them'.

The idea is, I think, to set it up so that when the goods get melted down out of the loading tool they hit even hotter metal in the tube. By definition the concentrate is 'barely hot enough to move' when it leaves the tool, if it cools just a bit it's going to 'set up' again. Once solid you'll have a tough time getting enough heat in to melt the entire load at once without overheating things (wrecking seals and burning the oil). Remelting is dicey at best.

Your fingers are the best temperature sensor (to keep the seals cool) and when 'done right' you can feel the hot oil drop down the tube and warm the bottom up a bit more through your fingers as the bottom slowly cools off. Remember, you've heated the center section until the heat has moved down to your fingers before moving the fire up to the tool to quickly start the goods down. Timing is important.
