. . . The Q bowls are way bigger than an ELB. It wouldn't work. I know because I have tried to use a Q topper(the little bowl top) as a top for my ELB and it's too big.

I also tried rigging the Q to work with an ELB plus an HT. I tried various methods. Using a female/male adapter I got an ELB into the male section and sat the HT on top (like how it works on the Cloud) but the airflow was all wrong. I didn't get remotely as good as extraction/vapor, finally gave up on the idea. (I think I posted a pic of the setup in the Q thread.)

But the hole in the cloud bamboo male 18mm business end is the same diameter as the hole in a Q elbow male 18mm, isn't it? I wanted to try using the ELB in place of the domed screen in the elbow (i.e., elbow pack method with effectively deeper bowl) so it'd still be a whip vape, or whip to small water tool.

But if it just plain won't fit in there it's moot, I guess. If it's only slightly too large or small, though, I'm sure it could be massaged to work. The intention is to try and get a bit more vapour density from the Q; I realise it'll have a harder draw since elbow packs do anyway, but this setup could pack more substrate less tightly for a similar restriction with a larger total payload.

That's the hypothesis, anyway...

I think you mean the Q elbow male, right? So you would insert loaded ELB into Q elbow joint and put on top of the cyclone or a female/female adapter? I tried that too, but every female/female adapter I could find (I used the one from ALT) had a "handle" in the center which prevented it clearing the bezel and hence sitting snug on the heater cover. As I posted above, I was trying to use the HT too. When I used the cyclone instead, I got too much airflow. But if you can get an adapter that works and keeps the ELB closer to the heater, might be interesting . . .

Whoops, male, yes. Typo (or "brain-o", I guess), but still, this is why science is subject to peer review. :p

I think the adapter I have coming will work (no handle), else I'll have one custom made. Should drop the bottom of the elbow male joint down to about the height where the bottom screen usually sits when the cyclone bowl is present, which is the offset distance for the payload under conventional use anyway.

My main concern is that the cloud likely uses thicker glass, so an ELB in an elbow is more likely to be too loose than not fit, I think.

One other problem I encountered was the ELB fitting inside a male joint. Given that the ID of 18/19 joints is not precisely consistent, I discovered that the ELB would fit in some pieces (like the Q elbow) but not in others (like my adapters). I scrunched one ELB trying, and another I got to fit got down-sized such that it is now loose in the Cloud joint. So I hope you have better luck. If you can get all the pieces fitting together properly, seems it should work, although I doubt you'll get comparable performance (I don't think the ELB does its turbulence/lower-pressure thing like it does in the Cloud itself).

Not expecting comparable performance; like I said a few posts back I'll be getting a cloud as soon as I can. I just want to push the limits of what's been my daily driver for a couple years now. Try and see it's max potential before moving on. I think if I try this experiment after I get a cloud, even if it works I'll be a lot less impressed than I might be pre-cloud. The cloud's heater is at least three times as powerful for a start (going on adapter draw, it's probably more likie 4-10x more powerful though, that's just minimum), and if using an ELB in a Q then the bowl size on both is exactly the same.

get a stock HT bro - I didn't get it together when I originally purchased and I kicked myself in the ass for weeks. Just go for the whole package, I promise the experience is worth it. BTW - I don't have anything by mobius yet either so it feels good knowing there's another jealous vaper out there to share my envy!

But seriously - the HT's are dope!

Hey everyone, first post and long time lurker and also minutes away from my Cloud purchase. C-weed, I was in the same boat as you trying to decide whether to get a HT as well, and decided that the difference in price basically forced me to. It's just a much better deal, and like was already said you can always sell it down the road if you want. It's been a long thought process for me to finally make the purchase after hearing all the pros and cons exclusively from this forum and I think now is as good time as any. I just hope mine doesn't have scratches, or many imperfections as it really shouldn't for the price it costs. I'm so pumped! Looking forward to sharing my opinions and hearing yours when we get them.

I had a hard time deciding between Swagger and Evolver, but in the end went with the Evolver Circ (Tree wasn't in stock). I'll probably end up picking up another HT down the road, preferably a straight neck one if I can ever get my hands on one again. How about yourself?

Almost coming on a year with the old ticker and its going strong. I too keep looking for a möbius piece but they are hard to find. I may go for a DG with fritted disc. Anyone use the fritted disc with their cloud?

Hell yeah in the club!.lol. anyone just getting their clouds in the last week notice a little extra wear and tear?? Vapenstone added it may be from hand making, assembling on smaller batches. either way just curious. Got the hydracirc 2.0, can't be happier. Ill be two capping tonight after my oil run. I think all hts are a good choice, I actually want one with a little more resistance.lol. this thing is like jist as easy as breathing in. To whomever was going for the dry setup andd waiting don't. I bought one and will prob never use it while I have my ht. peace and happy vaping

If it is any consolation my cloud from a couple of months ago also arrived looking pretty beat up. The halves of the body aren't in alignment, the holes for the power supply and bamboo are overly large, and there are multiple gouges from the core being slid into the outer heat shield.

This is unacceptable for a $500 vape. I'd be sending it back if it were me. Increased production is great, but not at the cost of quality.

Mine has some gaps in it too. I'd rather have those than be without my cloud.
Besided, the "fuck ups" give it character. ;)
