Arizer Solo

Does anybody start vaping with the heat setting on 7?

I'm having trouble getting big clouds on 4 and 5.

I'm just using the standard stem that came with it.. no PVHE or anything.

I usually start at 4 for a couple of hits, then up it to 7.

I've done it the same with my PVHES gong, stock gong, and regular stock stems.

Edit:
I pack my stem, insert it, then turn on my solo and let it get to temp, so that pre-heats my bud somewhat allowing for thicker initial hits.
If you are just inserting your stem and drawing straight away, you will get thinner hits until everything is up to temp.

Another edit:
I always vape through water :brow:

I typically start at level 3 , move to 4 half way through and then finish on 5 for the last 2 hits or so. I get big clouds all the time. Try hitting your Solo slowly and for a longer period of time. IMO, at levels 6 and 7 the vapor is much too harsh without going through water.

Received my first Solo today! Does it not come with any screens?...bummed cuz now I can't use it.

You can still use it .
Just don't fine grind your herb .
Scoop it into the stem instead of sucking it up .
Or vape a whole nug , you'll have to flip the nug to vape it thoroughly . ime

edit ;
No it doesn't come with screens , unless you order it .
you can use any type of pipe screens , just cut it down to size .

I use level 3 and go to level 4 when the FLOWERS are fairly fresh.
Now this week-end I will have my SOLO's connected through a water path so I may have to run at level 5?

Drier FLOWERS at level 4 make me cough sometimes because the vapor is thick.
The water path with High Quality glass should smooth things out a bit!

You must be joking?
I went a whole year without screens before I added them.
1/2" screens do work great however are not required.

Haven't you been reading this thread of at least the last few pages?
This is what makes the solo so good...you can use it with fingers only...no need for screens or whatsoever...it is true that screens makes it even better but the basic mode is to cut with your fingers...again, I did that in Amsterdam and it was a bliss.

I am loving this thing!! heats up fast and gives me clouds on demand with tiny amounts of bud. It's pretty idiot-proof too I would not hesitate to share with inexperienced friends. I don't like the 12 min. auto off but I can live with it. I got this as a travel unit but I could see it getting lots of use at home!!(don't worry EQ I still love you too!) All in all I'm happy with my purchase. At $160 I think it's a no-brainer, Arizer makes solid products.

Now I just need PV to re-stock 18mm carbless GonG's and I'll be a happy man!!

Also there are a TON of stem options which do you like best? I'm happy with the stock stem but will probably end up trying a bunch(ed's wood looks delightful) before settling on what I like

Shit - my first vape was the vapir 5.0 - at the time I thought it was the shit! Now, in hind sight it was just piece of shit. But - it lead me to want more and that my friend was where my VAS kicked in - then it was the EQ, then Extreme, then the MFLB x3, then the iolite, then the volcano, then the VM2, then the DBV, oh and then the SSV, the VOS as well as many VG's, the aromed, multiple solo's, an N02, a couple hot boxes, the LSV, Davinci, UD, amongst others. Today my friends I have blissfully kicked my VAS and am left with only 2 that are in use - the cloud and my trusty solo!

I hope I have made my point!

I have had mine since it first came out with the built in 'glass screen'..great concept but it didn't perform well IMHO. At the time they didn't use mesh screens and didn't have plans to do so. I explained what happens during the vaping process; such as herb getting through glass into the stem no matter the grind size. They sent me a multitude of screens for free to try until I found one that worked great (1/2")...happy to see they list it as an accessory now. Mine came with 2 stems; straight & angled ones. Don't know about now though.

But honestly, I am really excited to try the new pinnacle with a WT as I have never used those. I had always heard it is a completely different experience; and the thought of a cleaner and cooler vaping experience sounds good. Maybe I will get one for my Solo. I am sure you will enjoy it! :-)

Ok as promised my review of my opinions on different stems. Stock stems take time getting used to.
Stock bent - love to use in bed as is or with the smooth flow
Stock straight - love use with my extended glass straw or as is or with smooth flow
PVHES - love and might end up be my fav in most cases use as above
PVHES Turbo - not so much to much work for me to get medicated. I am also having a sticking issue with it must have a small piece of glass not ground all the way and it gets stuck in the solo but that has nothing to do with usage. I just isn't for me and I happen to be ok with wispy vapor which is what you will get with this.
Ed's stem - not for me but a very good option for those who do not like glass outside. Again it is wispy due to fully opened, has a great wood taste but for me to much work to get medicated and I like the feel of the glass better.

To summarize - I like the stock and PVHES very much and switch between them often depending on what I feel like. Currently at this very moment installed is the hes yesterday morning was bent stock which changed over later in the day. So I really do change them a lot.

My pax was my first vape a month ago, got used to it and love it. Now I just purchased the solo and just dont' get that much out of it. It appears it's a lot smaller than the pax's oven. But my question is I just read, turn it to 3, then 4, then 5 for last couple hits. Kinda what I do, but how many draws/puffs can I get out of a scooped bowl? I can draw 8 from the pax on low and then 10 or so on the next setting.

Help, new to this whole vaping thing. Just not getting anywhere near the same result from the solo.

I never find myself hitting the 12 minute shut off mark on this thing.

I use the stock stems with 4 holes and load the bowl to 80% full.

I always find myself turning it off before the 12 minute mark because it starts to taste bad.

Anyone else?

So I am putting in maybe a tad more than you and I turn it off after 5 minutes usually. I draw and draw, maybe 12 times total and it's not effective. How many draws are you getting in a 12 min span? i can fill it 3 times in that span.

Well howdy mate...first vape was the pax? really...you're really are a newcomer hehe.... :)

How many draws? Well ... I have no idea...its entirely up to you and the way you handle your session...

The herb chamber is smaller...you should pack IMO .10 to .15 for optimal results...
You should wait a little bit between each hit and take a slow draw.
You should keep the stem inside(IMO) while it reaches the temperature you wanted...
And remove the stem if you ain't drawing...

Taste bad how? Really really bad? I dunno...the taste does decrease but you can pull the stem after every hit to maintain the good taste a bit more...but in the end the taste will vanish...still it doesn't really taste bad IMO ... compared to other vapes...

What heat settings are you using BTW?
