So, being sans portable for a while now, I have been amazed at the upcoming explosion of choices we have. Its a dynamic time in the market place and maybe a good time for an FC pulse check on what people have on their Vape "Radar" and why.

Personally, I have finally mentally divorced myself from TET and am looking elsewhere for my portable flower needs. As many of you are aware, I am not into oil, so portable flower consumption is a priority for me, everyone's needs are different.

So to keep this thread, and the poll interesting, I am only going to allow one vote. So, keeping your needs in mind, and knowing what little we know now, which one of these would you choose and why?

For me, all of these devices look incredible and if I had unlimited funds I would just buy them all, but the reality is, I may be able to buy 1 portable this year and thats it. The Ascent just looks amazing. Incredible form factor. The FlashVAPE S2 looks easy to use, awesome performance, and reasonable price. The Pinnacle looks like a mini, portable, Cloud and the water tool is the absolute bomb . . . so for me my vote is gonna be Pinnacle, as of right now, probably the Pro version coming out in a few months. Votes won't be public so unless you out yourself no one will know your choice.

I also want to say a little about manufacturers here. I remember when TRVB first came here. He has taken, with absolute grace, his baptism by fire here and has emerged "clean" on the other side. Completely amazing journey, thanks TRVB. DaVinci as well, has weathered a "severe" storm here in very good shape. FlashVAPE has the earmarks of greatness, I can smell success here, thanks for your presence here.

So thats it, which one and why? Thanks FC, its going to be an amazing year :)

Hmmm, I already have the FV S2 and am thrilled with it. So out of the remaining choices, I would love to try out the pinnacle with WT. I love that they went with a basket design for the herb. It looks like it packs a pretty good punch, and the water tubes look like fun. I wasn't sold on those at first, but with the pinnacle, it looks like you could have a pretty nice little power portable setup at not too bad of a price point.

As to the Ascent...I still need to see real video of vapor production.

If I could go back in time before getting the FV, I would still choose the FV out of all three. It has a ceramic oven and glass parts. It is solid built and not as plasticky looking as the pinnacle. Huge bowl size, and convection vapor all at a great price point. Most affordable of them of all too. It's only weakness is size and weight. Not as pocketable as the pinnacle or ascent seem to be.

You know, I almost have to buy the FV just on general principal, simply because of the reasons you have stated here. But if I started doing that the spousal unit might melt down . . .

You might just have to say it's for "testing" purposes :D I do believe they also mentioned a mini version coming out at some point. Not sure the ETA on that, but one to keep an eye out for.

Tweek,
I gotta say FV s2. There is a lot of flexibility built in. Weed, kiff even hash. Ad to that a bowl that can actualy serve multiple people and I'm sold!
Nothing against the other two,but life has taught me not to believe in a product until it's actualy in my hands as well as the the hands of others. I'm 99% certain the DV and VB will be outstanding vapes from what I've been hearing. But I've had smoke blown up my ass to many times to believe marketing hype. Do we know the prices/release dates yet?
Don't get me wrong,I love day dreaming about "The Next Great Vape" as much as anyone, but when I send my money off I wanna know damn good and well that the thing, you know, actualy fucking exists and performs as advertised.
Plus at a price below $250,with all kinds of spares in that price it's kind of a no-brainer IMHO.
I'm still looking for that elusive "perfect Vape" and will happily shell out mega-bux for just such an animal.
I'm Just not to into the Vape-Vape-of-the -month thing. I simply can't afford everything that comes down the pipe, even if it seems cool.

Last thought, think about all that has gone on in the Vape world just in the last 12 months. Amazing stuff, stuff I couldn't even conceive of just a few months ago. T-dub,you are exactly right my friend. It's gonna be on hell of a year!

To be clear, the FlashVAPE has a ceramic bowl but the heater is a stainless steel screen.

I'd make the same choice as you, and not because of the price, or the fact that the Ascent is not on the market yet and the Pinnacle is just reaching the market now. Both the Ascent and the Pinnacle use electronics to control the temperature. The up side to this is little to no combustion risk, the down side is that you're locked into what the manufacturer thinks are good temperatures. The choices by both these manufacturers are wrong for me. Their lowest temperatures are the same temperature where I usually quit because the vapour gets harsh and the taste gets nasty.

The FVS2 gives me full control over the temperature in return for a little technique. Game, set, and match.

I'd pick the Inhalater XP if I didn't already have one. If I did; I'd get the flashvape2.

Just curious, why no Inhalater XP? It's def. on my radar!

sticking to the three listed in the OP, have to say the Ascent...the Pinnacle looks cool considering the vids I've seen with the WT--but the Ascent is a bit more sexy! I'd like to see a vid of it performing.

Edit: I'm with Cent....He must've posted while I was thinking (vapin):peace:

Please by all means discuss the Inhalater XP, I would love to read your thoughts. I left them out of the poll since I have opted away from that choice, for now, and wanted to see how opinion was spread between the other models.

Quite right Pak, analog vs digital. There is also the e-trash issue as well . . .

Edit: There might be something wrong with me. I just went to the FV site and created an account . . . is that a buying signal? ;)

Pretty sure you're mistaken on the Ascent temp. The DV rep stated that the low end of the temp range was 0. The DV's starting point, by default, is 375 F, but I always lower my starting point to about 350, and you can go lower if you want. I'm certain that the Ascent would at least offer the same option.

I would say the Ascent simply because my idea of a portable is for it to be easy to use on the go and I think the size and ease of use of the Ascent make it perfect for that. Although to be fair this vote is based on nothing but my expectations for the Ascent, if it's what I hope it is though (cloud producing, gong, smaller version of the da vinci) then I think it will be a serious contender in the portable market.

Although this could all be moot if arizer decides to make a new portable (imagine a leaner solo with digital temperature control:nod: ).

Right now, i would choose the FVS2 but the one i'm rooting the most is the Ascent.

All-glass path with great battery power and a somewhat inconspicuous and small package, i'm just waiting to see how it performs and what are the first issues people find in them.

I can see clearly now the smoke is gone...
I've narrowed my next purchase to the Ascent or XP.

I just tried sharing my MFLB yesterday and it is such a hassle explaining it's usage to everyone before you can pass, plus with a few people the battery doesn't last very long.

I'm looking for one that has a big bowl, long battery life and is so simple you can just hand it to someone a say "here, hit it from this end.".

+1 for the XP. thats why i ordered one. i think the XP needs to be on this poll because as of now it appears to be the top choice for portable flower vapage IMO. from the looks of it only the Ascent is close.

the Ascent looks amazing. still need to see more, but so far im REALLY liking the potential there. with two 18650s its sure got mighty big tank. i really wanna know if it will run on one cell at a time or if both cells have to be in place. its easily on the top of my list and i would order one right now if i could.

pinnacle looks cool also, but from what ive seen in videos, doesnt produce vapor like the XP can. call me a cloud chaser if you will (proud of it!), but i like my vapes to have the ability to blow the doors off when called upon. rarely do i aim for such rips, but its good to know the power is there if needed. the INH looks to provide great clouds easily and quickly whereas the pinnacle will take some work to get that same rip. i dont want to have to explain how to rip a portable to a friend. puff puff pass muhfuggah :ko:

the flashvape is interesting, but too large and im just not feeling the esthetics of it.

then there is the rumor of a solo mini... which if true could (likely would) be a major player here.

my radar:

ascent
solo mini if true
XP
pinnacle
flashvape

Agree completely about the flashvape, also it's not very noob friend friendly. Also I didn't mean to imply there was actually a solo mini, I was just dreaming.

Of the ones you listed, I am interested in none.

The flashvape does have some things going for it, but it would still need to be recharged, which takes time, you could carry spare batteries, but the hammer trumps this one in most respects, especially if only for flower use.

The VB is not interesting to me at all, nothing that it has is beneficial over many other vapes except the bullets which still aren't that interesting.

The Davinci will never be on my list because they participate in false advertising.
The gnome has been out for some time and is a GonG portable, along with the vapobowl, vapocone, and a few others.

I like the hammer.

Of those choices I don't think there is one I'm currently interested in.

I want the future of vapes and I want it NOW.

Ascent hands down. I'd pick the PAX over the VB because I feel the oven would do a way better job of even vaping over the bullet. PAX has 3 heat settings, VB only has 2. The FV S2 is too big, I want a portable vape that can fit in my pocket. Ascent is GonG, and the cartridge seems to be somewhat wide, it looks awesome, and the battery life sounds outstanding.

You have to stir the pax oven.

Sounds like the xp would be perfect for you, the capsules actually require no stirring and I get even abv all the time. I dont even check any more to see if it got the job done cause im confident it does. 10 heat settings, 8+ sessions per charge..

I've never had to stir my pax oven and I've had evenly vaped ABV every time besides once when I left it on party mode and forgot about it...that was bad.

I guess if you use it that way and dont care for the taste? I usually get bigger clouds once I stir too. Usually I get bricks with only one side cooked so I have to flip it.

Im impressed with the xp cause the taste never gets as bad as the pax and I dont have to stir at all.
