Discontinued Inhalater XP

Wow, I'm surprised to hear about so many problems with the new unit. I hope I don't jinks myself but mine has been just perfect, so far. I've only had for 6 days and use it one to two times a day. It's the newer unit, I guess, with only the two intake holes, rounded cap and the label on the switch is black with white numbers. There is hardly any restriction on the draw even with the capsule packed very tight. I can't compare it to the 004 as I have never used one. The capsules do click/snap when they are all the way in. I haven't had or see any problems with the capsules not lasting awhile as I've read in this thread. I have the INH001, 1st generation torchlighter style, and I'm still using the original capsule.
So far I'm very happy with this unit and I don't leave the house without it!

This is crazy how so many units are failing, did they launch too early?? Feel real bad but hopefully they take care of you guys in a timely manner.
I can say mine is going strong and its my main vape that I use everyday.. Good thing I got the 004 as a back up though. Hopefully they work out all the kinks, maybe they need to look @ my unit as it seems perfect lol.

Ya mine is working perfectly as well, 4 holes as well.

I wonder why they went back to the rounded cap. The flat one was useful to hold your filled capsule or even an empty one so you didn't lose it.

That is exactly why I had asked ru if it was worth doing my warranty change...what do you think sonic. I certainly have a well working unit with a glitch that I work around. I don't want to deal with sending stuff back to Canada and customs and all that non-sense. I was doing my exchange through Taylor when he got them in but with the failures I am suspect. This is the IMPROVED WORKED OUT THE BUG MODEL or so they said.

Maybe give them more time to work out bugs, or maybe some people got unlucky. Its hard to say how many people have failing units vs working units. If the xp and 004 r the same size then I would keep the 004.. im getting mine in tmrw to compare.
I agree about the flat cap also. Comes in handy as a capsule holder.

Well support got back to me today (I had the lights issue) and they said they'd send me a replacement. Yay!
Support was really good and helpful, so don't worry if you have a defective unit, just call them and they'll fix it.

Well I'm going to say since the first shipment about ~50 people have them, around 40 FC members or lurkers.

35 shipped to PV who were all FC members, and there were about 5 people who got them from Pharmacor/ebay seller who have posted here. I'd say that theres probably around 10 more who got them directly from Pharmacor, ebay seller, etc.

So out of 40 people who got them, around 5 people have had defective units? So around 8% fail rate, which is high all things considered. However, they did say they made last minute revisions so hopefully the next batch will be a lot better.

I'm one of those who got it's XP from PV's first batch (four holes and all) and i use it a lot, like 3 to 7 sesh a day for almost three weeks now. I experienced absolutely no problems at all and the unit is working perfectly fine. I hope it stays that way because i LOVE the XP! Best portable vape i ever tried for sure.

Gotta run to work but i'll be back with my "second impressions" of the XP later...

I spoke with someone from Pharmcor today and they will be sending me a new unit. They identified the problem and have corrected it, so it should not affect any newer units coming out. Hats off to Pharmcor for their excellent customer service. My only concern is shipping my old one back over the border. What is the best way to clean it to ensure there is no residue / odor? (Besides qtips and iso)

There is no other way really. It shouldn't rake that much. Put it in double ziploc freezer bags with a sheet or two of bounce.:)

There's no risk to you if you don't put any information in or on the package that would identify you to authorities. All you need is something that lets Pharmacor know that it's your device. That could be the serial number if it has one, or just simply a note signed tikimaize or some other pseudonym that you've told Pharmacor you'll be using.

And if authorities ever catch it and asks you questions, just say you were in fact returning it because it smells bad! I mean how can they prove you were using it with grass? Worst I think that can happen is confiscation.

Good point vaporisateur. If you don't put your address it can get lost so you are kind of damned if you do damned if you don't. I have sent things back but not over the border which is way riskier. I prefer to get things that work and not have that issue but wouldn't we all no matter where we get it from.

What if you are a medical patient and sending it back?? Is there any difference or that really doesn't matter with customs?

I doubt it matters. I think even if you are in a medical state I bet they can still get us on paraphernalia if a cop stops you. In my state they just passed a law, so don't drive through, if you have metabolites in your blood it is a dui. It can be from a month ago which is just dumb.

"Crazy" Paraphernalia legal restrictions in the USA (source wikipedia):

"...it is illegal to sell, transport through the mail, transport across state lines, import, or export drug paraphernalia as defined."

"The American drug paraphernalia laws can also apply to many items that have more legitimate uses than for illegal drugs. Small mirrors and other glass products (such as Pyrex test tubes and "glass crack pipes"), lighters, rolled up currency, razor blades, aluminum/tin foil, credit cards, and spoons have all been used to prosecute people under paraphernalia laws, whether or not they contain residue of illegal drugs."

This is fucking insane to have such a policy, open for abuse by LEOs.

Wait what is the small mirror for? I know what everything else is used for but a mirror? O.o

It can get lost whether you put your address on it or not. Which do you think is the bigger risk, having it get lost in the mail or having it intercepted and traced back to you?

To me the answer is immaterial because I consider both risks to be so small as to be of no concern. I haven't had anything get permanently lost in the mail, ever. Sure it happens, but it's extremely rare in proportion to the volume of mail they handle. Both FedEx and UPS, on the other hand, have lost things for good on me.

The chances that some customs agent will actually intercept a used XP (there, I made it on topic) are even smaller, but suppose it actually happens. The cost of tracing the sender and then proceeding with an investigation makes it a prohibitive waste of time and money. Just getting tests done to prove the residue is actually an illegal substance takes days and hundreds of dollars. I don't believe it would happen. I think the XP would be confiscated and that would be the end of it. I'd send it and not give it a second thought.

tikimaize expressed concern about shipping a used XP across the border. I pointed out that if there was nothing the authorities could trace back to him then he was taking no risk. Obviously there would have to be some way that Pharmacor would know whose XP it was.
