@rabican Niiiiiice. Have you looked into getting a diffused downstem for that EHLE? After that upgrade, it will be perfect, IMO.
@the ob .... not really sure TBH. Some really seems to come uncurled easier than others. Think it might have to do with how tightly wound it was during storage and shipping. The stuff i got with my dbv straightened out in a few weeks, the spare hose that was tucked in the side and kinked up is still stupid to this day. The hosing that came with my ssv is pretty straight now, but I laid it out flat and put some objects on it to hold it flat for a week or so at first and just used old hose. I've asked in other threads/posts how ppl straighten their hoses out, but havent got many suggestions.
Had another idea for a convenient ssv accessory that they should (but probably wont) create. I have these hangers for my guitars on the wall:
And they have made my life much easier, compared to using cases and typical stands. If i want to play i just grab my fav guitar (which i keep on the wall closest to my desk) right off the wall and start playing, and if i need to do something, i can hang it right back up w/o worrying about dogs or ppl knocking it over and shit. I was thinking, since the standard ssv bowls flare out at the tip, that a mini version of this could be made, maybe one that could possibly use some form of adhesive instead of screws, to be more convenient, or an option for both ideally. It's just that i get interrupted during a bowl so often, and have to clear a spot to lay the hose down in such a way that the bowl doesnt dump or get knocked off, and i also need to make sure the glass isnt too hot and touching the tubing or anything else that might melt or whatever - it would be a lot easier if i could just hang it where it cant get dumped. Maybe it could even just be a stand or holder of some sort that could sit on the desk/table.
Of course, if someone created my bowl-cap idea i posted a while back, idle bowls being dumped wouldnt be an issue at all.
I'm pretty sure it's a 250ml (12"-15") that he got off everyonedoesit.com. The adapters you'll need to get off the official silver surfer site (under accessories tab at the top, glass on glass water attachment). Other stores, like vapeworld, sell adapters that will work, but there's arent angled like the ones on the SSV store, and that makes them harder to pull because you cant really grip the glass, you have to pull on the hose a bit, which may slip off. Also, the SSV site has colored adapters and both 14/18.8mm sizes in stock, seems like others site have a much more limited stock.tdavie said:

nah, not offhand. i was looking into the same ~$50 ones on EDIT. Anything that size, 14mm or whatever, and length ~11cm should work well though.

Yeah ill prob ask my gf for one for my bday or something dumb but its hard to justify spending 50$ on a downsteam when the bong is 60$...anyways if you find something cheaper let me know. whats the website everyone uses that sells used glass? maybe ill check that for a deal...steiner666 said:

Reason I ask about the SSV (and bong combo) is that I used a whip last Friday night for the first time since Feb 7th give or take, which was just a week after getting my Extreme; and I quite like whip hits. I've pretty much been using the Iolite or Launchbox daily and the Extreme/bags once a week.
So I figure that since I'm leaving my Extreme at g/f's house, I need a main unit for myself to use daily. I like the customizability of the SSV; variable temperature is also nice, as is good warranty and reliability (it will be going RVing).
How smooth are the hits when connected to a bong, with or without an ice pinch? Quite smooth and cool I imagine. In terms of smoothing or cooling out the hit how effective is an ice pinch/water bong, such as the Ehle 250 if the SSV was cranked to 100% (or 6 oclock)?

its a pretty significant difference between hits straight through the whip and running through water and over ice. my bong is 24", which over half a foot between the ice twist and the mouth opening. If i fill that up with cubes (about 20 cubes), so that the cubes are almost touching my lips, its like taking a breath of cold winter air, not like sub-zero winter night air, but cold enough that you notice the cool sensation.
I rarely vape bud without running it through water now days, between the smoothness and not having to worry about sucking any fine bits through, its become essential to me. Sometimes im too lazy to go get ice, or maybe its late and i dont want the bong full of ice sitting around melting all night and flooding my bong or whatever, but always water. The only thing I dont usually vape through the bong is wandhash/kief, I like just using the whip with that. I like to hit it softer so i dont waste any by taking too big of a hit or sucking kief through, and its easier to lightly hit using just the whip.
anyway, i'd def recommend picking up one of those 250ml EHLEs. I would def say get the one with ice fingers, since they dont really cost any more and are def nice to have. I wouldnt recommend getting a bong much over a foot though, because big ones are more of a challenge to fill and clear in one breath, i've had many complain that mine is too big, and i tend to agree and am planning on getting one closer to the 250ml EHLE size, something thats easier to just sit back and hit.

this is mini whip and regualr size. you can see its like vapor bros made a mini whip for silver surfer. i just got it yestarday and its amazin. dude for vapin alone. you use like a pinch. and i got 8 to 10 pretty big hits. im not a light weight by any mean im a big guy 6 foot 3 240. its very nice like .15 bowl or .2. for 10 bucks great buy.

As promise and as I just received it this afternoon, here are some pics of my brand new SSV. After a month of waiting since it was stuck in the US because of the Eyjafjoll volcan ... (don't ask me to prononce that...
) ... patience is over :-)
It is awsome, I can't beleive it, the first hit I had, I had the hit of my life. Incredible, so tasty, so high with little material.
I'll give you my impressions after a few days of usage, I'm still on the learning curve here.. vaping my third bowl just now, and already managed to burn the second one Was too high temp and too slow... I'm used to the iolite. Totally different animal, SSV is by so many things much much better.
I had AVB from the iolite, the SSV gives me severals good hits more with it...
Ok enough talking I'm on the honeymoon here, so we'll see in a couple of days...

Im going through a LOT more herb through the Buddha then when I was smokin it in a regular glass bowl pipe.
One more question: Do you feel the smaller diameter tubing to effect the size of hits your getting? I know the mini whip uses smaller tubing then the SSV/Buddha whips...

Nice SSV sweetfx! I also like your knob better than mine (sounds weird, doesnt it?). You heatcover is also cooler in a way. Mines red, so i prefer it, but its just like, one color whereas yours has that cool blend with diff shades of blue and white, very nice.
@guitarscreamngrowler - Welcome to the forums, and thanks for the comparison shot! i've been thinking about ordering a miniwhip for probably a month or so now, but i always forget when i have the money and by the time i think about it, i have something more important to pay for lol. Thankfully i remembered to order one yesterday, should be here early next week. I've been wanting to see a good side-by-side shot of the VB mini with a standard SSV wand for a while now to be sure the size diff is worthwhile, looks like i made the right choice

I have the Buddha (same thing) and these 7th floor wands prefer to be packed near 1/2 full. If you skimp and pack a tiny bowl the hits are not nearly as heavy as they could be.
The thinking behind this theory is that the smaller wand hits the same as the larger wand because your filling it 1/2 full so it hits great BUT it's using less herb.
Make sense? At least I hope that's the case as I want one of these mini whips. The few folks on here that have tried it say it's a good fix if your lookin for a smaller load.

another thing i'm hoping is that, since the bowl is narrower and a bit shallower, that i'll be able to vape with my knob set lower. If i pack a small amount in the standard ssv wand, it wont be very full and the herb will be far away from the heater cover opening. packing that same amount in this mini whip should fill it more like half-way full, and that, along with the fact that its shallower overall, will bring the surface area closer to the heater, which should allow me to vape well w/ the knob closer to noon than 3'oclock.
but yeah, it's mainly so that i can hopefully use less herb w/o sacrificing quality of hits. i'll definitely be doing plenty of testing when it shows up mon/tues
