Initial review: I ordered my Launch Box Friday from Puff It Up and it arrived Monday. Puff It Up gets an "A" from me for customer service and quick delivery.

As for the Launch Box, the first thing I noticed is how small it is. You really can't tell how small they are until you've seen one. Next, the first test drive: I loaded a trench of Death Star, put in the stem, and placed the battery in the hole. I held it in for 3-5 seconds and could see vapor forming through the cover. I started taking a long slow draw with my lips not fully sealed around the draw stem. Wow. Good vapor on the first try. Second hit: I think I held the battery in too long or didn't draw hard enough because I over-roasted the trench a little bit; definitely user error. After three draws off of the trench, I achieved the desired effect. I couldn't believe how little material it took. And, how little I used of the little bit of material required to fill the trench - very efficient.

Since then I have had about 3-4 trenches. The vapor tastes great for the first 2-4 hits. It then becomes less tasty but still potent. I get about 10-12 hits, total, out of a trench. With the same battery, I have enough charge left to vape another 1/2 trench.

Overall, I think the V-Tower (my only other point of comparison) maintains the taste of the load for more draws (this could be user error on the Launch Box). I think the Launch Box is definitely more efficient (I can't believe how little material can obtain the desired effect). I like the portability of the Launch Box. I am very pleased with my purchase.

I have been trying to pulse the draw (more accurately the draw is continuous but I make a full seal with my lips for a second every few seconds). I've also been trying the long draw. Finally, I've tried pulsing the battery. I think a combination of the long draw (with lips not sealed around stem) combined with making a full seal around the stem for 1 second every few seconds it best. Also, I've noticed that I can tell if I'm vaping the load correctly by the temperature of the vapor coming out. I definitely need more practice to improve my technique. Fortunately, practice is fun.

I just bought a Powerex charger/conditioner and man,it gave a new life to my MFLB!!! The performance was so weak that i had i hard time finishing a trench and the batteries became hot real fast. I should have recharged them about 50 times i would say. And i have 6 of them, that i got when i bought the MF.

Instead of buying new ones i've put my $$ into a charger/conditioner and it really worth it! Powerex says that conditioning should be done after 10 charges. Great to know i'll have fresh batteries for a long time!

And i take this opportunity to say that i LOVE my MFLB!!!

Waiting for my new MFLB, PA and WPA. MAgic flight warrantied my MFLB and PA because there was an issue with the PA, and i got the WPA too since it was free shipping and 10$ off.

Hey guys,
Just wanted to say Ive been using my MFLB for a few months already with the PA+WPA, and just wanted to say thank you guys for making such a nice produce. My screen tore a while ago but i still continued to use it since it still produced vapor. I finally sent in my warranty claim yesterday and got a reply today. Thanks again and keep doin your thing guys

After two years of almost daily :o use, my original LB is still
working perfectly as are most of the LB's of my acolytes.
One of my minions had a quibble about lack of heat and vapour.
Their fully operational but unsatisfactory LB was returned, and replaced.
The replacement worked great and is still doing so.
There will always be better batts ( I am sick of reading about batts WTF!)
and the powerex charger is really good eventhough I still use the sanyo charger that came with the vape.
Oh yeah, stop fucking cleaning the screen so much!!!!
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Sooo if your gear isn't up to snuff send it back with a note and communicate
with the manufacturer.
I really believe that cottage or micro industries such as Magic Flight, the glass
blowers and other vaporizer developers are the wave of the future, kind of
like the micro-brewery vs Coors.
These small businesses are often run by people who have a passion for their craft
and it shows in the product and the customer relations.

Oh, I don't know about that. Not to take a bit away from VT's excellent post but you too are prone to fits of such inspirational clarity. I know, I seen ya done it.

Maybe not on a first draft?

Hey, what was your favorite part? Mine was "There will always be better batts ( I am sick of reading about batts WTF!)". Should be a Forum rule......

What's all this talk about bats? I happen to love bats. They're in our All-American Pastime, Baseball. There's bats, that help control insect/pest populations. Bats in the belfry. Batman...

What? Batts? Batteries?

Oh. Never mind, then.

+1. MF is great with communication/replacements.

They are also great with regular orders too. I placed my order for the finishing grinder on Saturday night, and they shipped it out Monday. I'll have it Friday afternoon according to UPS tracking. (order sent UPS ground) That's less than a week from order time to my front door. That's fast, IMO. :)

Thanks for the compliment. :) Right now is not one of those times, though, because I'm trying to play God of War and type too.

I liked the part about Magic Flight having great and speedy customer service, not only with warranty issues, but with regular orders as well. That's the experience I've always had with MF.

I'd say they are excellent all around. Last night, someone made a post on another site that I frequent saying that he washed his LB by accident and was freaking out, he didn't know what to do, it had expanded, etc. Couple people dropped some knowledge on him about how MF operates, how the warranty covers the "shit happens" events of life. I'm assuming he sent them an email about it, I went to sleep before he made any other posts about it. Said if it came down to it and something happened and he couldn't warranty it, he would just buy another one. I think that in itself speaks volumes, if someone is willing to re-purchase a product after damaging/losing it.

My non-warranty-related interactions with MF have been pleasant as well, as few as they have been. Even had a little handwritten "thank you" bit on the receipt that came with my power adapter, and they even gave me their little book for free! I deal with a fair bit of clients (one of my jobs) and companies (from electronics to wholesale niche industry purchasing, deliveries, etc)... not a lot of people do those "little things." It was honestly no more than 4 or 5 words, but it's those little things that make me think "well, these guys are really invested in what they sell and want to go the extra mile to make a personal connection with their customers, they obviously care about us and stand behind their product." Even if it is just a lady who's job it is to sign them... I don't see very many other companies doing that.

This long ramble brought to you by a particularly nice trench of Jack Herrer with a bit of Earth OG kief, filtered through the full glass combo, powered by the adapter, and enjoyed by yours truly :freak:

You have no idea. When I say that the power adapter turns it into a whole different animal, I'm not kidding. I had a Skype session with a friend of mine, she owns the Iolite and smokes as well, and I used the LB, power adapter, and my bong. She saw me go from sober to "oh shit I forgot we were even on here lol" in about 10-15 minutes and decided that I was getting bigger, more visible rips through a webcam. I also mentioned earlier in the thread that when I received the PA and played around with it for an afternoon, I decided that I could wait on getting another vaporizer for a bit longer.

Think about the best rip you've ever gotten from a battery and your trench.

Now, think about a battery that does that forever. At different temperatures of your choosing.

I wouldn't think twice about buying it again if it were stolen or lost. Even despite MY problem with it (button is a little funny, doesn't make 100% contact with the negative ring) I still use it daily. I could very easily warranty it as it is a noticeable problem for me, but to be honest I'm a bit lazy about that whole process, and I only need to take a second or two to wiggle it around to get it to work perfectly. The vast majority of the people who have the power adapter don't have this problem, and MF themselves said that it was a very temporary error on their side with some new people they had hired. The power adapter also has the exact same lifetime warranty that the unit itself does, so if you do for whatever reason get one that behaves like mine, you can have the peace of mind in knowing that MF will take absolute care of you.

Edit: decided that I would just suck it up if anything bad happened, and tightened the ring. I was worried that my batteries wouldn't fit properly afterwards since they're so snug already, but it works way better now. Didn't realize all it took was just a little bit of banging on the bottom of it, just enough to shift the bottom of the ring up a bit. I can get it working much better now.

Stay posted, I'll do another edit in a little bit with a video I'm gonna take to show you what I'm getting with the WPA + PA.

Here's the video I promised... probably my best one to date in terms of capturing the real vapor output of the launch box... the lights are good. I know it's a bit bright, I'm using an LED lamp and it does wash out the color a bit, but I have found that it does a really good job of illuminating the vapors, much better than natural light or the lights in my room. The second rip sucked, read the description to see why I couldn't get much

Truly a competitor in the portable vaporizer market, maybe even a little bit in the desktops?
