I've been flipping through the pages of this thread and I've been on FC frequently before, this is the first time I've thought of making an account though. I never thought I'd join but the real positive attitudes seen in the past two pages (99-100) were awesome so I figured why not.

If you guys could help me picking a portable vape, that'd be awesome. I've had the mflb+PA for over two years, but its not really cutting it for me as I am a musician traveling by train where I can't inconspicuously use the launch box. I'm pretty much looking between the Solo or the Pax. The pax is less conspicuous overall (it looks like you're eating a big flash drive), but the cheaper costs, more variable temperatures, convection, and longer battery life make the Solo more attractive. Any thoughts?

Hell, I might just make my own vape and call it a day haha.

I have both the pax and solo (m107) and think that they're both great for certain situations (at least for myself).

If I'm out and about, I go with the pax. The ability to pack large bowls (I go as high as .5g), the solid battery life, and the inconspicuous design make it an awesome portable that you don't have to fiddle with.

On the other hand, I feel like the solo is more efficient. If I'm trying to conserve my supply or if I'm just at home chilling on my couch, I tend to go with the solo.

If you want to vape on the train, I'm not sure if the pax will work. The clouds are sure to draw attention to yourself! Using it on the lowest setting could help minimize visible cloud production.

It's unfortunate that the puffit has received poor reviews when it comes to the taste. If you're willing to put up with the taste, the puffit seems like a great choice- super stealth design and very light clouds (but you still get medicated). But maybe you already considered it and decided to pass?

[disclaimer: I don't have a puffit myself. My observations are based on what I've read in that thread.]

Ohh man, the hype has got me super pumped. I can not wait to get this thing. I kinda liked the small bowl of the WISPR, but I can just use it and put it away. I noticed a few threads talking about cases, and smells... has anyone used the WISPR pouch?

I like that I don't smell when I finish with the WISPR, will this be a problem with the Pax in my pocket after vaping?

I've said it before, I'll say it again, I can not freagin' wait to get this thing. I hope I get one with a new mouthpiece. I assume the ones shipping from VapeWorld are new mouthpiece units?

So, I have been away from the board a bit, but wanted to post an update. Although i love my Pax, I had to email Ploom today due to a mouthpiece issue. some of you may have seen posts previously about the mouthpiece getting stuck inside the unit. It has gotten progressively worse and worse and I finally decided to email Ploom about it even though i will have to send it back and wait for a new one. That is the only reason i didn't do it sooner, i don't want to be without my Pax, which i guess says a lot about it.

Anyway, that is it. I think i may peruse the 50 or so pages I have missed out on the last few weeks and see what has been going on in the Pax world, haha.

Got my replacement Pax back and was finally able to shoot a picture of the Arizer Stir tool I'd recommended, within the chamber. Think I just got lucky, it's a perfect fit for packing the chamber with this end and stirring and clearing the rim with the other.

Sick! I have that glass tool. What about on the go? Any suggestions for that?

I plan on keeping a safety pin somewhere pinned to my clothing, when out with the pax. I can use the loop end to stir with, tamp with the head, and still have something pointy if I need it. I usually keep them around going back to my combustion days. They made good pokers too.

@NewVaper420 looks like JD's recommend is way more travel friendly, buck cheaper too.
I'm picking one up as well.

That's a sweet idea.

I've been using a bobby pin to stir my pax (and my bowls in other devices, for that matter) but I'm gonna give the safety pin a shot.

To tamp down the load in my pax I've been using the oven lid; I think it works pretty damn well. From what I've read, it seems like most people use other tools to tamp.

Any reason why people prefer not to use the oven lid? Or do most people actually use it but it just hasn't been mentioned much in this thread?

I was using the oven lid earlier, just spaced it... didn't have anything else around. It was a little hot though, so you have to watch how you grab it, if your pax is hot. I have managed to get a few rounds out of this messed up pax, and it's getting me way more "stoned" feeling than any of my other vapes... have over done it a couple of times now. I am very impressed when it's working... mostly getting blue light still though.

So after stalking this thread since almost the beginning, I have now come into a bit of money and am ready to take the plunge the will end up with the PAX in my hands. I did have a question for this wonderful group of very knowledgeable people, should I order from vapeworld (or sites like it) or directly from Ploom? The thought of getting a cool grinder or gift is nice but since they are back ordered (PAX) I also want to get it ASAP. What do you guys think?

i have always ordered from vapeworld, mainly because they take paypal and that's my preferred method of payment :p

also the free grinder from vapeworld is pretty decent, it does an excellent job at shredding up herb. not sure about who would get it to you faster, presumably ploom but i've never ordered directly from them so no idea.

Yeah I was looking to get the Purple, more stealthy than blue but not plain ol' black.:p Its weird that they have it shipping approx Sept. 8th since both ploom and VW say the 10th. Maybe to just have people order from them, saving their butts with the "approx"?

Where does it say on ploom that it's shipping the 8th? If Mine doesn't ship till then... I won't be happy!!

I've seen the 10th as an aprox date, Ploom CS rep would not give me a date at all when I asked. Hoping sooner than later too.

Have some hash currently (unusual for me since I'm strictly a flower guy), and I loaded a bunch in my Pax, sandwiched between some herb. And...

Holy. Shit. :ko: It was a seemingly never-ending bowl of vaping pleasure. Each hit was so thick and tasty. I'm so fucking blitzed I can barely type.

I'm a few weeks in with my Pax (fortunate to have grabbed mine early :brow:), and I'm still amazed at how awesome this little thing is. It's so darn effective, and given how cool it is in form and function, I easily convert combusters--on the spot. I watched one of my mates order the Pax via his smartphone after just one session.

Tip: Keeping the Pax clean is the only way to go. Get a stash of pipe cleaners and qtips, and clean it every week or so (or more) depending on how you use it. Pretty much every dozen uses. Otherwise, the action suffers. Don't skimp on the cleaning!

I love my pax now that it doesn't work ): Going back to my Wispr just doesnt compare! The MFLB still has some nice quick hits.. But the Pax ranks high now for my portables

Hi Skippy I got it from Vapeworld.com

All up cost about $300 AUD
$40-50 Ship forwarding.

You must use a voltage regulator to use it! Or you can try and use an adjustable power supply for our market.

Mine isn't charging So I got a DOA. It just stays orange when on dock.
