The PD stem does fit into the CRZ. The CRZ stem does not fit the PD.
The Old Zap stems fit the PD perfectly.
go to Zap Stems, and mark the box for "for Zaps made prior to 9/12/11" (and they cost $1.00 less!)

Guys, now that the PD is no longer in warranty and repairs might be needed, can we get part numbers on all the internals possible? Specifically I was looking for the female power jack. Any one know a part number or mfg on this? Id love to replace mine.
Hey ! I am not familiar with PD internals but there are some Log makers that can help you.. like Dave the maker of Underdog, Rick - Zapman, and TV - Alan creator of toasty top and HI won't refuse too i think cuz he is such a nice guy LOL..
Note they they can either serve you with free tips on the repair and repair it in their workshops . :) for a :2c:

I am looking for the jack and not the plug. As in I want the PN for the female power connector that powers the PD. Mine will no longer grab the power plugs tightly and I want to switch it out while I am rebuilding mine. However, I would rather replace it with the exact same part so the hole will be perfect. Does anybody have any idea? Possibly the Pandora builders have some clue or could post the instructions

I'll take a WAG at it, and that's all it is, I've never cut one open to see. But I bet it's the front part of something like this:
http://www.newark.com/multicomp/ar70635/socket-inline-low-voltage-2-1mm/dp/25M7569

The part you can see is not at all common, but the 2.1mm size is very common. Unless someone steers your onto it, I'm betting you'll have to settle for 'same as'?

Well I doubt I can find out when I open it by the plug itself but we will see. I was hoping the pandora builders or maybe someone who knew tom better would have a mfg or even a specific part number on that. Of course close enough will work but this plug must be trackable to somewhere. At worst mine still works for power

I don't know the part number, but I think this is what you're looking for:

wow perfect. Thanks. On a related note, this thread is probably not appropriate for a teardown with pictures? I can start a new one. Regardless, I do have some issues with slight charring in the units. I got some pictures

And found her stems worked in my PD, but mine did not fit in hers!

Correct, PD stems do not fit in UDs or HIs or TTs. Not sure about CRZs. I do know that UD stems and certain HI stems fit the PD. Alan of TT/HI has a wide variety of stem designs available, so if you're looking for alternative stems for PD, he might be one person to talk to.

What are the inner and outer diameters for the various popular log vaporizer cores/output pipes and their stems?

There are references to 3/8" stems and cores, but aren't tubes fitting within tubes, so we need to pay attention to inner and outer diameters interfacing with each other?

I find I get best results on the PD using the combination of UD glass stem and the thicker of the two sets of tubing. The thinner tubing that comes with the glass stems doesn't create quite the seal that the thicker tubing does.

In a few posts back someone mentioned the toxic nature of Isopropyl. I soak my stems in the purple bottle that shipped with the PD. I simply let them air dry after soaking, is this a bad idea? Is it necessary to rinse after an alcohol soak? I don't use them until completely dry.

As long as they are completely dry, it should be fine. However I would always recommend a water rinse just to be safe.

Stu,
Just an update, took apart my purple days myrtle since it had been poorly heating and loose. Took the heat exchanger out and disassembled for alcohol wash (pretty dirty), removed resistor to clean skirt walls, and wired the cord directly to the resistor, as my plug is now loose. If anyone knows how to get that jack out i would love to know, maybe unscrew and push through? Anyway, on my unit i noticed charring on the bottom of the tapped hole that holds the heat exchanger. Around the wires that the resistor is "mounted" on, where they passed through the holes was blackened and there were cracks in the wood. Nothing terrible, but significant. No solder melted as someone earlier had worried about, however it was quite brittle at this point. This unit is at roughly 1 year of continuous use but this was my "abuse" unit and has been overheated under blankets, dropped more times than I can count, dropped in water, and just about every other bad thing. After the rebuild, I sat the resistor higher in the heat exchanger and rearranged the rings. The center port now sits perfectly, tight and centered. The higher resistor enables it to be hotter and now my poorly performing pd is back to perfect. Thought I was going to have to up the voltage. Should help reduce charring also being further from the bottom. Resanded the whole body and thing is just like new. Would recommend to anyone who is having any problems with your PD. open it up and take a look, cant really hurt and its all really simple. I plan to clean mine pretty often now that I know how it gets in there

Yeah, the hole is threaded for the jack, but it's mostly wood glue holding it in.

No youtube embed as far as I know :/

Nice bub, I used to use that SB design as well; it sure does play nice with the PD. :)

Finally got my new, improved PD functional and have something a little different: black walnut with a scarred water buffalo hide bottom.

Thanks to Dave from underdogvapes for the advice in the repair and I would wholeheartedly reccomend him for PD advice or work needed.

Has anyone tried ripping BHO through the pd? If so, how does it compare to the "knock your socks off balls high" that comes with vaporizing BHO in a piece intended for it?

I have done BHO through the PD.. works like with the Zap, except the CRZ runs hotter, so gives thicker hits.
To see how I do it using a piece of cotton from a q-tip, see the post at: Vaping BHO with a log vape

Sorry, typing error meant "balls high"

No, I understand how to vape it, I'm wondering the effects. Just because when you take a BHO bong rip... Well, there's nothing like it. Those of you that have done it know

I have a Purple Days that has VERY loose internals that I wish to repair. Since I am a woodturner with a large collection of spectacular burls I am considering putting the "internals" of my PD into a new log. My unit still works (though I think it is running a little cooler than it used to) so I would like to know beforehand what I am getting into so I don't completely ruin it while disassembling. Has anyone posted details/photos that show the internal parts of the PD vapes? Where might I find this info?

Thanks!
