Discontinued The 8 Herb Vaporizer for the Persei

"herb chambers" forgive me if this has been addressed but are we talking disposable chambers that you have to buy to go along with the 8? My interest is starting to turn this way but I am really not a fan of having to constantly re-buy chambers or cartridges to continue to vape (reason why I still haven't taken the plunge on an Omi, they have 'em at a LHS and they look real slick)

Thanks for the support guys, we believe in being honest and truthful in everything.

As far as the pricing on the 8 these prices are still yet speculative because there is still minor changes that needs to be done, and final numbers will be released.

As far as it being a kit it is not. It is only the attachment and we might include 2 imr 18350 batteries just for the hell of it, but for now its only the attachment.

also on the other side the unit which i did not mention to others only vitolo because he is Italian and knows how to keep quite, but it does have a filtration system that has not been shown yet.

You dont have to rebuy anything, it is a complete kit that will be warrantied for a year we think.

also the Universe cart that will last about a year if not longer, and that will do all three. Herbs, water extracts, and oils.

Cool, I guess i've missed something here. I'll have to actually look at this thread I suppose.

Since we now know that we can boil the chamber can we use oil or water extracts in the herb chamber with our bud?

Not for sure on the boiling part yet, but if we do incorporate it in the design then yes you can use it.

Oh sorry I just skimmed through the past couple pages and thought I read that :)

Hopefully we can do hashes and oil with our herbs in the 8, that is what will turn it from an amazing product into the ULTIMATE device in my opinion.

That is why we are working on it to make it happen.

Put it in a unmarked envelope, drop it in the nearest topless bar, im waiting inside.

Now this is interesting. For those of us not able to go see for ourselves, what sort of outfit are you wearing?

I know I speak for all of us here when I say I'm sure it looks great on you, no matter what it is.......

so appreciative of the discount THC. that is a massive cut for us on FC
and you are a mensch for doing so. not to "competitor bash", but after
lookin' at tv's version compared to the 8.... they aren't in the same class.
keep up doin' it right bud. i still don't quite comprehend the need for two
lcd tops, but if that's what's needed to do it right, by all means, do it right.
am sure we will all be amazed by the final product

Ha, are you talking about the $59 Evolution flower cart not being in the same class as this $200 footlong? It's a silly comparison, as they're both quite different vapes

zmurder,
Bob, I believe the need for 2 tops is: 8 top is a temperature control top, and so it should be sensing and adjusting temperature on the fly, while the VV LCD top, we will set it to a voltage and it will stay their as opposed to constantly changing voltage to stay at temp.
I can be totally wrong, but both in one sounds like problems.
This is pure speculation with no facts? I think?

Naw, I think you're far closer to 'totally right' than the other way. The 8 is, it seems, a 'closed loop process controller', something like your home furnace where the output (temperature is measured and used to adjust the power delivered, or gas fed to the home heater in that case). The display is to show the temperature set. The second LCD unit uses it's display for voltage, not temperature. Temperature is not measured, only the output voltage is. This top will work fine with no cart, the first has the cart and controller as one piece with multiple connections (not just two) to the load.

That's the way these things normally work.

Early may we start production on the nail cart, and the 8 production might be later may.

It seems like I will have my Persei in May then. Many thanks for answering me. I have read this whole thread and I think im ready for the Persei, but not for the carts. I want that nail cart. Seems to make alot more sense to me. But like I said in the post before, its just a personal preference.

8.5 inches in a foot?? Now that's silly.
$200 for a complete unit vs $59 for a cart.........what does that even mean?

i get it, i guess i still don't understand how voltage and temperature don't end up in the same place in the end anyway or maybe i don't get what's needed on the other end of the battery and lcd and that is my confusion.
i fully follow that one uses one and the other uses the other, but not why each specific is needed (i understand why herbs need heat and carts need voltage, but not why they can't be used for each other as they both = heat. for example, the picture in my brain shows my carts getting hotter, the higher the voltage. so why not measure temp to ratio of voltage and use the vv top for both. does that make sense? doesn't matter, not like my understanding or lack thereof will change anything material. thanks anyway for explaining.
Happy 420 to all! This Tokes for You!! :spliff:

Mainly because the carts actually responds how you suggest, where the voltage is a pretty good indication of heat, and the herb chamber will warm up over time and require varying amounts of heat to stay at a constant temperature.

This is why we can control the carts by varying the voltage, but to keep a chamber at a contrast heat requires more attention than a human would want to do. It's better to have a small temperature sensor and a computer controlling the heat for you.

& happy 4/20 everyone!

Sounds like you're getting a grip on it. The next piece of the puzzle you're needing is the feedback idea. The herb cart actually looks at the result, rather than use history to guess like the second (VV) system uses. Consider that you could easily clamp your gas peddle down at some point on a flat road and get to a uniform speed. But if you hit a grade, either up or down, the speed changes and it our case you loose vapor or burn the load. Or what happens to your house temperature if you open a window and there is no thermostat to notice or care? It get cold where I live.

So yes, more is hotter. But we need to hit a target temperature within a fairly narrow window that's just not going to happen with an open loop system without serious user intervention.

Another way of looking at it is the herb cart is built like a volcano or HA (temperature controlled) and it too could get an air pump added and could then blow bags......THC, ya got your ears on???

8.5 inches in a foot?? Now that's silly.
$200 for a complete unit vs $59 for a cart.........what does that even mean?

Well, it's also $150 for 'a complete unit' from TV. Herb cart, your choice of 'batteries' to run it and the appropriate battery and charger.........what does that mean?

I think it means we have choices, IMO always a good thing for the choosers. The 'trick' is to make it an informed choice?
