Even though the water in the hydratube does absorb heat (as is seen in the decreased temperature of the vapor inhaled and expedited melting of ice), I feel that more of the heat transfer would come from the 300F + air traveling through the water with diffusion-enhanced contact than the minimal contact between the hydratube, ELB & GonG (and the non-existant contact between the hydratube and the metal around the male GonG).

In theory, if the water gets warm/hot, the glass around the water will feel warm/hot. IIRC, the Cloud shut off 3-4 times during a recent session, but the hydratube never felt hot (or even warm).

To me, the logic behind a discussion about the water in the hydratube heating up from the contact with the glass, ignoring the hot air being pulled through the water, is like the discussion about actives being lost to the water while ignoring the larger portion lost upon exhale.

Great advice whoever said it about spreading oily concentrates on the underside of the cap of the bowl, works great

Had it set at 3 for concentrates and packed some herb and hit it without remembering to turn it down and MY GOLLY what a head changing hit

Question: When we got that link to get our place in line I signed up and chose I believe the showerdome and got my place in line. I got no confirmation email so wasnt sure if I really signed up, so I used that page again and re-went through checkout, choosing the other tube. And I then got a way later place in line. I am curious if I actually secured my earlier spot even though I later redid the sign up thing. I know it was a mistake on my part but I'm kinda worried because I believe the first number it said I had was like 198 or 288 or something and my second one was like 600+ I think. I wish I wasn't so vaked back then to remember if I did the process correctly.

I wish I remembered (or kept the email) when I preordered! I think it's possible to email VXL and find out if your preorder has been confirmed. Would suck to wait for the email invite only for it to never arrive.

I try to be patient rather than desperate about finally getting my preorder fulfilled, but I have a confession. Last night though I abstained after a few days of heavier use and dreamt that I got my package in the mail and went down the stairs to grab it and open it. Of course it was raining and the package itself was sealed very poorly, and so I worried about damage. I knew when I woke up (at least once) that the whole thing was a dream. I also know when it does come that it'll be wrapped much more professionally than in my dreams.

PS: In less than a week I will be celebrating my one year anniversary of preordering. :p

The Cloud is shipped bomb proof Carbon; no worries there! :lol: There's so much bubble wrap I can't imagine anything could possibly get broken.

I too wondered the same thing, as far as when/if I had place my pre-order....vaked much?!

I just used the support query on the VXC website...I got an email back, within a week or two tops from Bryan @ vxc, with a copy of my pre-order info; tube selection, reasons for purchasing a vape, etc...

Good luck, and if you get another confirmation, don't delete it! :D

Got the chance to try some very nice bubble in the Cloud today. Used a couple different methods but one suggested by a savvy guest was a lot of fun: we put a thin layer of the material in the top of the ELB (i.e. the cap's concave space) with the bowl packed with some fresh herbal material. While the hash was aided by a good stir every couple hits or so and placing ground hash material inside the ELB is probably a less fussy methodology, it tasted really great and vaped evenly.

Obviously this works well with the Hydratube and would be a little riskier with a piece which required the VXC to be turned upside down. It was also really great to just throw the hash in with some ground herb and puff away.

One of the neater parts of the "test" was pulling the HT off the unit and watching the hash bubble/melt. FWIW, the hash vaped very nicely with the dial turned way down (tried a few hits a little higher at the 9 o'clock mark as well). I know people want really high temps. for concentrates but I don't think its necessarily the only way to enjoy them with the Cloud (or in general for that matter).

when i do bubble i put some herb in the bottom of the elb with the bubble on top. works well with either the ads stemless or the ht at the low temps(9 o'clock). I call it the "forever bowl" :D

Offhand I don't know of another thread with this much entertainment value. The excitement is palpable. Comedians everywhere. And, hell, we've only just begun. Just think what it's gonna be like when there are hundreds of us with Clouds . . . as it is, a lot of us are practically living here. :party:

i pre ordered in febuary an got an conformation email with adress an the hydra tube an 3 reasons about cloud, i shouldnt have gotten another email yet to early doubt it just curious. cause this email doesnt say what number in line u are.

Yes the entertainment value of this thread toatally makes the wait worthwhile....wait a minute I completely lost my mind for a minute, it doesn't make the wait any less painful. :evil:
