I'm wondering if someone can say a general word about Vaporfection
They made a very good high end vape, but the high price apparently didn't get them the volume sales they wanted. So they downsized/redesigned the vape, made it dual mode, and cut the price by $100. Then they added a $300 portable. Both units seem to be high quality, but we'll have to wait a while for someone to open one up and inspect the guts, and it'll take even longer to assess reliablity.

I usually don't buy anything without reading reviews on it, but I couldn't find many on the vivape. But I did it any way $50 off and if you use the code vape20 it saves you like 20% so its around like 320. Can't wait till it comes.

I've been following both the vivape and the mivape for a bit now. I know the mivape isn't available yet, but the best price I can find anywhere for the vivape seems to be the same. $449 then a $50 dollar rebate which would make it $399 I suppose. Is that on the Vaporfection home site that the discount applies?

I tried that code and indeed on the Vaporfection website it does bring the price down to $320. Interesting. That's the first I've heard of that discount. Since the company apparently does have a good reputation, it might be worth a shot, though obviously I'd much rather wait for some reviews and some time for any kinks to appear. (It's something to read the Solo pages, so glowing for a month and then so complicated--though that still remains a top choice for me.) I must say I'd also like to be absolutely sure the viVape is actually going to start shipping soon. The only place I've seen a hard date--November 1--is on the Vapeworld website. (It's also weird to see "reviews" on the web that are obviously phony. I hope they are from scam sellers and not the company itself.) I wonder if the rebate and discount will continue after the item hits the market.

I'm super curious and can't wait for people to get theirs. Seems like we talk about every major vape company extensively here, but haven't heard much about these guys. The reviews I dug up from way back when seemed very positive thought. Should be neat.

I asked Vaporfection and they're hoping to start shipping on Tuesday, though there's apparently a 2-week backlog on new orders. There's the predictable amount of hype, rogue distributors, and phony reviews (of a product that no one has seen) on the net; it'll be good to get some reliable responses from FC and vape veterans.

I emailed Vaporfection after I placed the order and asked about shipping date.

This was the response.....
Hi Toby, A new order today, will be on our shipping schedule for the week of Nov 14th. Thanks you'll find it worth the short wait, order now at vaporfection.com ! Herb at Vaporfection

Sent from my iPad

So it looks like its gonna be a while before it ships. :(

System looks really cool. But with that price and the obvious reliance on new technology between the touchscreen and what ever else it does I for one am going to wait until 2nd gen. Or at least until first shipment buyers are in full receipt. Maybe the shipping delay is because they too are still working out kinks? So far weve seen nothing aside from their next wave of their marketing campaign. But I will say again, it looks really cool, I like that little MiVape...maybe magic flight and the whispr are going to get that run for the money? :2c:

Well put: what we've seen is "the next wave of their marketing campaign." On the one hand, it's kind of cool that they can put together a sophisticated website and video. On the other hand, it will be good to see something more real, less commercial. The rep said that they had some "vendor delays," whatever that means, but plan to start shipping tomorrow and catch up with the backlog.

Vapor Glass
The viVape vaporizer is equipped with our patented Vapor Glass technology, featuring a laboratory-grade glass-on-glass heating element and laboratory-grade heating chamber which is designed to allow the heating element to be perfectly positioned for the most effective air/heat flow combination. This results in a far superior quality vapor and efficiency compared to other vaporizers. Unlike other vaporizers that use ceramics, metals and plastics, which can cause impurities, ours only consists of glass-on-glass technology, resulting in only the purist vapor experience possible.

are there any other vapes out there that do this? cloud maybe?

mod note: You need to use quote marks when you copy and paste ad copy from a vape maker's site, and also post the link to the quote. And there's no concrete evidence yet of this 'pure glass on glass' vapor path they imply that only they can supply.

Update........
Got a call from herb at Vaporfection. A supplier shipped product that was out of spec dimensionally. This was caught before assembly......... good news.
He said my vivape will ship no later than december 10th (after new shipment from supplier)....... bad news.

It could turn out to be a great vape for all I know, but their kind of phony, over-the-top marketing just really puts me off.
Saying stuff like 'the quietest and fastest delivery in the industry', or in the video she says words to the effect of its 'the most durable vaporiser on the market' - er MFLB for quiet/fast, SSV that's been in the factory working since day one now might have something to say about such grandiose claims...

'We are so confident in our products quality that we give a 2 year parts/labour warranty' - wow, really pushing the boat out with that one...

Sorry to be a negative numpty - like I said it could turn out to be great - I just wish companies wouldn't advertise their stuff in such a brash manner - or at least back up their claims with references and evidence.

As Jim Brown once said, "when you get to the end zone, act like you've been there before." (And the viVape isn't even in the end zone yet....)

Thank you for posting an update...

A real bummer to read my Vivape will be delayed until December; especially third person via this forum.
I much prefer Vape Xhale's method of full disclosure, compared to the optimistic ship dates, and no communication, period from Vaporfection. I'm not trying to bitch at all; just comparing the two companies I have vaporizers on order with.

On the good side, after reading some reviews of Vaporfection's last vaporizer(stealth?), it seems like the ViVape's internal technology is in it's second generation, at least. The temperature control, heating element, and glass on the ViVape appears identical to the past model. My only reservation is the touchscreen; but my Iphone gives me some confidence the touchscreen can be built to last.

I'll definitely get a very thorough review of this unit posted as soon as I can run an ounce or two thru this baby...

I was able to try the viVape at the Cannabis Cup here in Amsterdam (I was only there for the first 3 days, that was before the raid) and must say that I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the vapour and the ease of use.

This thing heats up fast, fills up balloons in less than a minute and the LCD control panel is pretty neat (more solid than I would've thought) and its controls are intuitive. The lady I talked to assured me that defects/damage on the LCD screen would be covered on the warranty with a fast replacement/repair service I guess we can only judge their customer service when units are actually being sent out..

Pros:

- clean, pure taste
- user adjustable auto-off timer
- fast heat up times

Cons:

- even when the unit is set to whip mode, hot air or vapour still seems to pour through the whip (resulting in a waste of herb when not in use?)
- LCD screen is likely to be more prone to breakage than a regular 'knob' or button. And what about resin sticking onto it?

Build quality seemed quite good and the unit is not extremely heavy. It comes in a protective case with several accessories/extra parts.

Vapour thickness is pretty good and the taste (with a nug of SSH that I had tasted before) was excellent.

I must admit that I was somewhat sceptical beforehand because of the way they market their products, but overall I think this vape will prove good competition for the Volcano and at a later time - perhaps if the price drops somewhat - for the Extreme Q. Note that this is merely a writedown of a first impression, I look forward to taking a more thorough look at it when it is finally ready to ship.

I've shot a video of the vivape in action which I'm hoping to upload in the coming days.

I also mentioned to the people at the booth that it would be a good move for Vaporfection to participate on these forums. Not sure if it's legal difficulties that are holding them back (as I understand this is the case with at least one other major manufacturer).

Thanks for the info & picture! Did they have the mi-vape as well at the Cup?

I can't imagine Apple won't sue them for this design though, seeing how motivated they have been in the lawsuit department lately. It really looks like a ipod on steroids, lol, even that logo appears to be in Apple style.

I like the idea of a sleep timer btw, curious to see some video material about this one.

Anything you can tell us about the bowl size and loading procedure perhaps, did they stir the bowl in between hits? Do you know what kind of heating element it uses?

Unfortunately they didn't have the mivape on display. I was told it would take somewhere between 40 and 90 days for it to be ready for release.

The video I shot shows the loading of the bowl and usage with both whip and balloon. Bowl seems larger than most other vapes. Here's a picture that shows the bowl a little better:

I've never even seen that website until now, lol. Is an initiative from the same guys that own Vaposhop & Azarius perhaps? They won't answer my questions when I ask about it, but I'm pretty sure both shops are owned & run by the same guys.

I would like to see this video. Not a Facebook user though, so I can't help you out with posting these.

It's not the same company, vaposhop and azarius are affiliates of us (as are a number of other vendors) - the commissions are used for server costs and to purchase new vapes.. send me an email if you want to chat more, so we can stay on topic here :)

I'm having trouble uploading more photo's and I'm in a rush to head off to Cannafest in Prague, I hope to be able to upload that video from there - if not it'll be monday.
