The WISPR vaporizer

Why smoke and die, when you can vape and fly?
Shadowlink, Carl Sagan's enlightened words bring to mind another Sagan quote:
'The cannabis experience has greatly improved my appreciation for art, a subject which I had never much appreciated before. The understanding of the intent of the artist which I can achieve when high sometimes carries over to when I'm down.'

I'm also reminded of a one-liner, last seen on the blank side wall of a prominent Sydney building, since demolished:
'Why drink and drive, when you can smoke and fly.'

(I prefer 'Why smoke and die, when you can vape and fly.')

Re the wispr delay; this could be due to technical or production problems. But the fold-down mouth-piece seems like a good idea. Likewise the enlarged, visible fuel tank; improved piezo ignition, and supposedly quieter operation.

BTW, my iolite (pity about the hiss) is easier to use and more comfortable in the hand than the Launch Box or Arizer Solo. The Solo is really semi-portable, too conspicuous and unwieldy for use at the movies or on public transport. :uhoh:

Hai_Rypo_T'head,
And GotVape who has had my preorder money for months (and delay after delay without a so much as a email explaining the delays without me sending them several first) Still cant give me a proper release date...

I guess I have to be a 3rd rate rapper to get anything from them....

If this SOB dont ship by monday, its RAMPAGE time!!!

Oh, and good day to you all, not sure if any of you are anticipating the Wispr on the same level as me, but as soon as I get it in my hot little hands, I will post a detailed review

I used to love the Iolite until I got my Solo. I will still use the Iolite in certain stealth situations if it is warranted. It still does the job I have always come to love from it, but the time it takes to finish product is a little ridiculous when it comes to other vapes. That's the only gripe I have is the length of time it takes to finish it. I wonder if the Wispr improves on this.

buddhaholic420,
Im a big fan of the iolite for certain situations. Ive tried the solo, and its a hard hitter and I'd like one for sitting around the TV when Im by myself, but the iolite is great for on the go, and no glass parts to worry about. This said, from what I gather, the wispr has many improvments... If I could just get one in my hands

Just saw a post from Iolite on Facebook saying that the Wispr is ready and can be purchased at http://www.my-iolite.com/.
For a US buyer the 199 Euro price would currently be $286 and you'd probably also have a currency conversion charge.

Best price I've seen for FC members (although still pre-order) is at Gratefulbuys.com. If you haven't used the 15% off code with them yet, price would be under $240, even with a $10 shipping charge.

Even though GotVape hasn't been exactly perfect with their communication about the delays, it's the manufacturers fault for them and notifying GotVape the day before a release. It makes sense that they'd put the product up on their website Friday since it comes out this Monday and nothing would ship until Monday anyways if you had ordered when they put it up. I'm excited for this thing and my anticipation has grown because of these stupid delays haha. Really hoping I get a "shipped" email instead of a delay email tomorrow!

Did anyone who pre-ordered the WISPR get an email that it was shipped today? I haven't heard either way if it was delayed again or sent

ManFlies352,
Have not heard as of yet... The gotvape facebook page was suppose to announce something big last night, but only if they got so many "likes"

Pretty sad was to do buisness, tease and toy with us while holding our money, but dont get me started...

From what little info I have, I assume they will be sent today....

manwiththeplan,
Just got off the phone with gotvape.... They said they would prob ship sometime this week...

Im not holding my breath

Yea, I emailed him and he said all the orders would be fulfilled this week. Although, they also told us a product was going to be delivered almost 2 months ago at this point and still don't have a WISPR in my hand :-/

i am a bit concerned... it appears as if the wispr is still undergoing last minute development a.k.a. on the run. as we've all been left in the dark, i can only deduce that all is not quite right with the wispr. hope i'm wrong.
*bark*

edited for clarity!

^ Finally. Every time I see a new post in this forum I get excited thinking somebody finally has theirs. Very interested to find out if the WISPR really improves on the originals performance, taste, etc. or if it's only the form factor that's been changed.

Personally I'd count it as a huge step forward if the unit was more reliable, user-friendly, and silent (which the name seems to suggest but the marketing materials do not :/). The folding stem and the fuel window are cool, but wouldn't convince me to upgrade.

I guess it depends on how you define performance. I doubt the taste is different-don't think the temp setting or heating design is any different. I'd say longer vaping time would classify as better performance, as well as quicker warmup from start. A cooler housing certainly gets my approval, as does a fuel window. I'd also think that the hissing would be less noticeable, but I haven't heard anything about noise level. It is supposed to stop hissing as soon as you turn it off-no cycling down needed on this model. I think they probably improved it over the iolite in every way they could, while still using the same heating design, keeping it pocket sized, and staying low enough cost wise to make it marketable/competitive.

Yea not entirely sure why I said taste lol, just one of those things that jumped to mind that people have mentioned in the past. Still, you're right. Changing the taste would involve some kind of substantial changes to the Iolite design.

The lack of down-cycling is interesting but maybe cause for concern? I thought in the old models it down-cycled to make sure there was no butane sitting in the system afterwards, so maybe the distance between the tank and heating element has been eliminated?

But yea the sound it makes is definitely what I'm most curious about. There's different opinions out there with some people calling the original super quiet and others saying it's too loud for them. Personally I think it's a personal perspective thing with me being paranoid and feeling that it is too loud when in reality it's not that bad. It'd be cool though if this new WISPR was truly "whisper" quiet.

Very interested to find out.

Still no shipment for me :(. I got an email saying you can now officially order the WISPR on their website. Maybe I'd get it faster just canceling the pre-order and re-ordering off the site lol

ManFlies352,
can someone who gets their hands on this please post a video showing it because its super irritating the lack of any info about design on this really.

the strength of the current io is it's portability. i went into town today iolite in coat pocket ready to go. the current shape is a real bonus for pockets.
i was playing the pokies/slots with io transferred from coat pocket to shirt pocket under a jumper. those places are real noisy so the hiss didn't matter. i was having the occasional draw from my pocket as i sat there. unfortunately, i caught a glimpse of my reflection and it looked as if i was going down on my own nipples lol. pleasuring myself in public is only an occasional thing :brow: plus after a while my left nipple was getting really baked... literally... so i stopped & turned it off. i reckon i might get the spiky thing that fits in the io heat chamber to facilitate efficiency.
i would've gone outside but it's really cold in s.e. oz so sitting outdoors in willy shrinking temps for 20 minutes is not an option.
the shortcomings of the io though not fatal are annoying and obvious!

i'm hoping for;
an oz of dank with each purchase
faster heat up
quieter operation
bigger hits
cooler operation
and a partridge in a pear tree!

the new shape wispr worries me a bit. i reckon it musta been designed by chicks who carry handbags. for blokes, running a bit cooler and built a bit tougher you could carry current io in your jeans pocket.

like the above poster... i'm frustrated at the lack of info from o&b. this mob by all reports spent a shitload of $'s on r&d but apparently fuck all on marketing.

cripes... i reckon that might be one of the so called "shill" sites. funny how gotvape links frequently turn up on dodgy sites. besides that, who in their right mind would initiate a web site to review vapes at their own cost.
i'm giving all shill sites the big brown eye (_o_)
so looking forward to a man on the ground review.
