Arizer Solo

The Arizer Solo was my second vape. I purchased my first one in early 2014, and ended up ultimately buying three. All three are still working good as new, I've replaced the batteries in one, several years ago. Since then my VAS occaisionally gets the better of me and I experiment with new vapes, but I must say that I still use my Solo nightly, instead of the Dynavap M that I purchased a couple of years ago, and the Splinter Z that I just acquired. The Solo is well made, reasonably efficient, and delivers a consistent experience. Thank you :peace:

I thought so because I thought it was convection. The kind folks on this forum reminded me that it really doesn't matter how something is "cooked." Cooked is cooked. End of story. I'm still using my Air 2 (and Air 1) with no reduction in lung capacity over seven years of daily use for high blood pressure. And also just for the hell of it! :D

Can anyone help me out with where in the hell I can find this? Either out of stock or it's not even carried.

Arizer Air / Solo Curved Mouthpiece - Black

This one, the one that says "Puffitup" at the bottom? How about:
https://www.puffitup.com/Arizer-Air-Solo-Curved-Mouthpiece-Black-p/qctq.solo-curv_bla.htm

That's where I got mine anyway........ I think they are the 'sole source' as they have them made for them? Not to worry, such things come back in stock quickly. In the mean time you might consider the stock bent one, or another black one?

Me too. Although some say your usage is MENTAL......I think they exaggerate some, personally.

Good to see you around, hope all is well.

Regards to all.

Yup, that's exactly where I looked and got the picture lmao. As I said, out of stock lol. Definitely looking for the black curved. I'll keep searching and waiting for what puffitup says. Cause it's been out for awhile.

Good luck. As I said I think it's a custom made for them. I doubt you'll find it elsewhere else, especially for the price. You might ask Randy how long he thinks it'll be out of stock.....my bet is a really tough guy can wait it out, if he has a Solo for support?

To screen or not to screen?

I quit using a screen over my Air 2 stem because it was such a hassle. Now I'm wondering if it was a good idea to quit. Does product get into those four small holes in the oven?

Why was it a hassle? I like a screen and especially the dome screens (makes the bowl smaller and probably helps with airflow). The screens live in my stem unless I am doing a deep cleaning.

The only ones which fit well have to be purchased from Arizer for a fairly ridiculous price. I got some that I thought would work from PuffItUp, but they are slightly too big making them difficult to use. However, the main problem is arthritis in both hands. It’s hard to manipulate something that small. I did, nevertheless, like that the screen kept the oven clean and kept stray matter out of my mouth.

Where do you get the domed screens?

If you put them in 'dome up' they reduce the load size to about half, 'dome down' there's little reduction. But, in both cases there is much more unblocked screen area so it takes a LOT more use before they need cleaning. I use a bent safety pin (heat the tip glowing hot then bend, or tap, it over) to fish them out. You can 'flame' them (heat them until they glow then brush off the ash when cool). Recommended.

It sounds like you might be using a screen at the bottom? IMO not necessary. The tiny bit of debris that might make it down the four vents easily falls out the bottom of the oven.

Sounds like either way you use the domed screen that you’d definitely have to use more than one stem due to the reduced capacity.

Not really. "Dome down" doesn't reduce the volume very much at all. In a fun way it conducts heat across the top of the load (as when the stem is inserted, metal against the glass plate with the four holes that forms the bottom as you load. If you do an 'A/B test' (alternate hits from two Solos) with one stem 'normal' and the other "dome down", you'll find the production better with the screen with less 'still green' herb in the center top when the part facing the oven is spent.

Or at least I did.

Dome up, of course, reduces the volume say 1/16 not 1/8 gram? But for those who find it 'enough for now', this is a feature, not a problem. Every use can start with a fresh load?

Worth trying IMO. Most to do try them seem to stick with it?

Was just talking with Arizer service. The way to reset this unit is: Remove the battery, plug the charger in for 30 seconds, unplug charger, reinstall the battery.

Help!!! The battery on my solo is shot, and I ordered a new one. I have been trying for a while now today to unscrew the screws from the base. They will not budge! I’ve got the teeny tiny Phillips head, and I’ve tried some WD-40. No luck. What can I do?

Be sure you have the right "tiny Philips", IIRC it's a 0, not 00. The wrong size will 'cam out' on you. Once the driver skips and scars the slots you're screwed.

The alternative if you goof it up is to drill the heads off (be careful to not cut too deep. Then you can grab the stubs or cut a slot in them to turn them out. If I recall 0-56 pan head screws can replace them then.

If you have a Dremel and a steady hand you can cut a slot across the head and use a flat screwdriver. Be careful not to damage the base, it forms the chassis for the unit.

You could also send it to Arizer........

OF

Edit: Another trick, if you have a really small center punch, punch the screw head at an angle. That is hit it at say 9 o'clock 'straight down'. To the right at the bottom and so on. Punch between the cuts for the cross slots at about 45 degrees, working around the head.

OF

Yet another edit: Are you in the US? I should have repair screws and flat washers around here somewhere. If you trash the screws getting it open (like with the wrong size screwdriver), PM me and I'll try to dig them out an mail you some.

Good luck.

Thanks. A neighbor was able to help me. There was one person in my apartment building I knew I could ask.

Battery has been replaced and is charging up! Now I have to pester my sister to find my back up vape (an NO2) that I loaned her two years ago, but she says she can’t find amidst her clutter. (I pride myself on knowing pretty much where everything is in my clutter.)

Yep, sure do......but then again I'm often told I'm a nobody.....

And it sure does medicate, provided you put the good stuff in of course. And to quibble a bit, it's "medicates" no apostrophe needed since it's not possessive or a place where letters have been removed. And that it does do, in spades.....still. Every time. Something that can be depended on.

I not only have a couple in rotation, but two 'old style' (true PA) units stashed 'just in case'. Back when PIU was selling returns for $80 I bought several. Gave some away to those who had money issues, sold some 'at cost' to happy owners that didn't. And stashed a couple against Murphy.

IMO Solo II is a bit easier to hold, and of course the extra battery life is useful.

I assume you're still trying to kill one off? No luck with that here, either. I did kill a Solo II however.
