Volcano Hybrid

It doesn't take very long for mods to appear, does it!?

Here are some crazy ideas using good ol' wood. Wooden "bushing" post adapter ideas, with an internal recessed o-ring slot for good seal. I'll ask woodworker to make the hookah 2-way splitter bushing

Thought a carbed glass adapter, but with male on both ends, would be good for a hydratube. Pull glass carb plug to clear, rather than lifting/fumbling with entire rig. Personally, I'd be too cautious to use water. Oregon Glassblower makes that carbed adapter to your spec, and he has one with a whip tube connection, which would let you clear the leftover whip vapor. He also makes long bent mouthpiece tubes, so a male version could fit into the wood female

BTW, an 18mm glass female adapter will fit over post, with some thin silicone or plumber's tape for seal, but I'm thinking a wooden bushing would add some strength

For entertainment purposes only, don't try this at home

Thank you for the reports!
I am a bit desappointed, I was really hyped with this hybrid for a fews months, I wanted to buy a volcano for a couple years now but I was sure a new one was planned, that’s why I waited. But I wasn’t ready for a 200€ augmentation compared to digit, thought it was a typo when I saw the price on vaposhop...

Classic volcano being sold at 320€, I wonder if it’s worth adding 280 more for convection, faster heating and replaceable power cable (won’t use the whip)... Am I missing something? Is the experience so better? Never tried a volcano in my life so I can’t compare based on your hybrid experience.

Sure thing! We just did our initial fit tests last night, and plan to have a little photo/video shoot tonight. I hope to post some of them tonight, but testing might get a bit "involved", and we might need to touch base in the morning ;)

A link would be even better (picture host sites come and go and seen to delete MJ stuff just for fun).
Hey guys, I have videos on YouTube and I'll post the link shortly, but what's the best way for posting pictures here? Sorry, I'm pretty new to these things haha!

Nice idea! You can save your lathe some cutting time/headaches and skip the internal O-ring groove depending on what kind of wood you're using. If it's soft enough it will make a good enough seal to work for you. Not sure about it working with just an 18mm taper, though, as the Hybrid post is NOT the same. We had to design our glass joints custom to fit properly.

Upload them on a website like imgur.com then link them here.

You can also attach them by clicking the 'image' button (the one that looks like a picture frame next to the smiley face button)
I definitely tried that, but the image button asked for a link from a website... so I uploaded to imgur and put the link, but it didn't show up (only a generic "pic" icon and

NO!!!!!!

Imgur will not support 3rd party image hosting anymore and this site does not download and store images....so Imgur will NOT work.

I use IMGBB.com and there are other sites out there that also support 3rd party image hosting.

When your pics are up on one of those sites, select the "Direct" link, copy it, and paste it into the dialog box that comes up when you hit the icon at the top of the text entry box that looks like a photo of mountains...just to the right of the emoji button.

If you won't use the whip that's a huge reason to not upgrade.

There still seems to be some decent benefits when compared to the Classic:
- significantly faster heatup
- new heater design (other one is like 10+ year old tech)
- better airflow when drawing via whip
- Bluetooth wireless control via phone
- arguably better more advanced on board touch controls

I've seen any "tubular" device that allows percolation called a hydratube, I don't think it's a standardized term ;) Unfortunately, a standard taper 18mm will not fit the Easy Valve or Hybrid Valve housing properly. It's possible it could work, but we had so many problems with them we had to design our own ground glass taper joint in order to make a proper seal. Plus, I think the whip for the Hybrid is much for versatile than a stiff glass piece on top. The whip is much more agile and easy to relax and use IMO. Cheers!

New FC readers should know we are in the company of S&B vape modification greatness, @elmomuzz

He brought us the muzzmod WPA adapter for Crafty/Mighty, and first to post a picture of hydratube use on a Plenty:

He also made a vid of his hydratube on a Volcano. Volcano thread page 103 has some thoughtful posts

I agree @Magma_Industries , the whip is a relaxing method. Personally, I'm not thrilled with glass, but it's favored by most here on FC. I'm also not thrilled with water tool ergonomics -- hunching over a desktop contraption

That just happened...
Thanks for the kind words! It's honestly so many of the members of this fine forum that have imagined and tinkered to improve the process we know as vaporization. I feel lucky to have found this place.

That cloud through hydratube video was from 2012. Where does the time go. :(:D

I'm awaiting a weedeater and v-rod setup so that's my next adventure. :)

That's awesome, and we had no idea people were doing that around the same time we developed our line of bubblers, but it wouldn't surprise us either! It was only after showing people the things I made in my garage to rig up water to the cano, and seeing their demand for one, that we went all in to make them easily accessible to the community and users in general. I'm still surprised no one came about to do this on a larger scale before we did, as it is an obviously desired attachment :)

Re: glass ergonomics, that's why we went with an integrated design that goes directly from Easy Valve to Bag. More familiar for people that are used to using their bags, and I completely agree that I would not be willing to stand awkwardly over my Volcano while using a glass piece, haha!

I'm an easy mark, just ordered the borosilicate Magma

But, might order a cheap UV sterilizer box -- fold up bag, and bust up those bacteria chromosomes after use

Since you have the female post opening dialed in, why not make an adapter with 18mm male protruding, ready for users who own vapexhale or dhgate hydratubes. Then in a few months, we'll begin to see sad posts about some stoner friend who coughed into it, dripping water into volcano :science::evil::doh:

Now I'll accept my whacks for not posting this in the Magma thread
