Those extractors are to perform a butane (usually) extraction of fresh bud.

Wrong!!

They are for making oil extracts from DRY material

not fresh.

The herb must be completely DRY before trying an extraction

Well there you are wrong, the photo of the run in the post above was done with fresh sticky buds dime to quarter sized buds packed so tight you can't blow any air through. You want the buds to be flushed and cured properly but you will see a cleaner better tasting errl when using fresh buds, try it.

lepstadder you certainly came on strong telling me I was wrong :uhoh:

Anyways I'm sorry if my use of terminology was confusing, I was trying to explain that these extractors are for extraction of the 'green' (or whatever beautiful color) buds, not compatible for the resin that builds up in some vaporizers.

Pappy I'm with you in not being ready to venture into BHO land. I've invested enough time, energy, and money into my current vaporizing endeavors to leave them behind once I realize how great errl is
I actually have had the chance to try some oil before and it was certainly an experience, I think I love the flower too much to not use it unaltered.

Come on, you two. Don't try to band together in resistance. :p
We left smoking in the rear view for good reasons.
I don't think there's anyway we would abandon our vapes but only enhance them by vaping with purpose, reclaiming our oil, extracting some on occasion eventually and taking this brave leap forward together, as explorers of the unknown(well to us anyway).

What do you say men? Are you with me?

I'm all for reclaiming the collected wand resin (I'm more meticulous about saving since I started vaping in the first place). I'm too nervous, broke, and content with vaping to blast butane on nice buds I could be vaping, I hear its easy enough but still. One day (soon I hope) I'll be able to buy BHO in the clubs, apparently C02 extractions are the new thing at the clubs (supposedly has a cleaner taste if any of the solvent remained, requires much more expensive equipment though so not really an at-home job) at that point there won't be anything to hold me back :D

Correct, fresh properly cured buds can and are run by thousands every day for reference check out tokecity.com and go to after harvest/hash and oil and you will see it is a regular and encouraged practice that has far better results than dry I'm only speaking from a lot of first hand experience.

Peace

rbrown13,
That tiny, 15 dollars shipped extractor from gnosy looks awesome. I don't know why his descriptions are so comically written, he seems bright enough in the videos.

Probably shouldn't be posting in my current state but I watched the video for that piece yesterday and I was curious about his nails. That's all I'm gonna say.

Check out the comments he posted here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdEw_gH9KLk

oi. Not to mention the content of the station..

He's different alright but his work is solid I can personally attest to that and the fingernail thing I think from corresponding with gnosy in emails is because he's a deisel mechanic...

this is more of what i had in mind pappy. a handle that can be keck clipped on turns any ash catcher into a nice hand held bub w/out adding 10-12" vertically...

handleconceptonbub-1.jpg

it may need to be a little bit longer, but thats the idea. i just feel that the current handles available are too long.

shouldnt be hard to get an etsy artist to do this right?

Thanks, got it! Several could. May be too small a job for some. What happened with SimpleGT? Try...

Pappy,
The handle I got from Simpleglasstubes is an incredibly awesome piece, wet or dry. Ask for one which can be used as a stemless bubbler. Honestly, it would be a bargain in a headshop at twice the cost.

I hope this helps...

that is very close. depending on its height... would also like to see one w/out any mariahs. just straight tubing with maybe some sort of tapered mouth piece end. or maybe just a rounded end with small hole sorta like an SSV heater cover end.
