For those of you using the mesh screens... How do you know if the screens are stainless steel? I feel like I never know what I’m really getting (and therefore inhaling) when I buy screens.

(This is just curiosity, I am actually very happy with the provided DV screens and feel confident they are ss/ti).

Are there other ones than SS, brass and ti?
The difference of ss and brass is obviously.
And if you buy ss you probably don't get ti.

I like the CCDs and with the medium SLX grind I have I get very little coming through them so I don't need anything less coarse. They could be cheaper, of course, but I don't go through them very fast and have only replaced a couple of them so far. They do like to hide tho and since I like limiting the bowl size on my Ti tips I keep a few extras around. I don't find they need as much cleaning as wire mesh screens. I usually use steel with steel tips and Ti with Ti tips, but I don't think there is any real need to do that...

Right, but how do you know the silver colored ones are actually ss and not aluminum or something else? Or am I being paranoid about a nonexistent issue?
I agree, kind of scary not knowing 100% what the make up is of the thing reaching high temperatures and getting the most vapor path contact of any part of your assembly.

Why should they scam? Prices of needed materials don't look worth the try.
What should be in that could damage your health?

I thought both aluminum and SS were fair game. My understanding is that you stay away from the gold colored ones as those are the ones that offgas. I get my SS screens from ebay sellers who say they are made of SS. If theyre lying, oh well, then its aluminum (I doubt theyre lying though). You inhale far more toxic things living in a valley walking down a street with heavy traffic. Most drinking water and food contains trace amoumts of aluminum as its naturally occurring in soil.

Hmm. Interesting. I've been low temp vaping with my M. Then finishing off the load with one or two higher temp draws. Two strains in question. Pineapple express and Fruit Spirit... the PE is amongst the sweetest flavours I've vaped recently. FS is fruity and delicious as well.... My point -

I feel like I have terpenes stuck in the back of my throat. Every time I swallow, like saliva for example, I can taste the same rich terpenes from pineapple express. It's interesting and weird. Water isn't washing it away.. Vaped about 3hrs ago.

Convection snobs/enthusiasts ;)
Swear by the flavor of convection.. I'd say in my opinion, my Stealth M has superior flavor to my sbj, boundless cfv, and although ghost mv1 hits perhaps stronger and tastes great, it doesn't (trick my mind into thinking I can still taste lovely citrus herbs in the back of my mouth hours later) taste as full? Robust? I dunno

Anybody else experienced this phenomena?

It's crazy....the dynavap has changed the game for me. Evey since getting my 'M' all my other vapes have taken a back seat. I bought my SOLO2 Feb of this year and I'm barely using it now. LSV is tucked away as well as the AIR for now.

Flavor is the only thing those vapes do better than the dynavap. I'm sure I'll still use the other vapes, but I'm just shocked this little vapcap has virtually replaced them all.

pinche loco :o

Like with most products it depends on whether the manufacturer/ your source is trustworthy. It's just about being careful who you buy from

Are you personally 100% sure your ti tips are grade 2 titanium? Unless you test it yourself how could you really know?

Not to say DV isn't using grade 2. They're a respectable company that I feel wants the best for its users. But that's the point, they're reputable and have a lot to lose by lying so why would they?

First, just to say that I am not skilled, but happens to have a few tools and a place to do my bits with nice music.
What I use ( always more than one way to do the same thing):
1. Drill and N°4, N6 and N8 drillers.
2. Something to fix the wood to a working table in order to drill the hole.
3.wood files, N 60, 120 and 240.
4. Good knife.

1. First I fix the wood to the working table.
2. Drill the hole, first the thin driller N4, then N6, then N8: less risk to break it.
3. Figure out something to attach the wood to the drill. I have used what you can see in the picture. This way the drill acts as a turn and can easily aply to the wood files while rotating. The result will be axis centered.
Make 45mm long to be used with standard condensers, or make any length you like to be used without it.

The result will not be perfect, but will be very rewarding and unique.

Thanks!!!!! I definitely want to try this when I have time. I'm not the most skilled with tools either but I've got them and this looks like fun! Thanks for posting everything!

Just wondering when you make them do you prefer the ones that can use the condenser or not?

@London Vaper the mesh screen I used was too fine and blocked easily with use.
I keep my tongue in the way to stop any kief hitting my throat when I vacuum a load into the bowl.

@Daprezz my Shadow cap is now a grey colour. It's only been used with an IH so I can tell where the majority of the heat is applied.

@Chandler I've run low temp bowls in the past and I agree tasty hits. As good if not better than other vapes I've used.

I stopped using hemp as I found it had an unpleasant taste when pushing for the last hit.
Muji organic cotton pads which I cut into strips and wrap around any concentrate or kief. No nasty taste.
Or 4 different concentrates in this case.

Hey there VC Nation, is everyone recovered or still recovering from the holidaze?! :freak:

Taking a TRIP TRIP TRIP to the BIG city with the fam tomorrow, gotta check out the Christmas Lights and Holiday Hoo-Ha! Londontown is pretty amazing this time of year and we each have our favourite places to go. This year, Carnaby Street’s light display is the lyrics to Bohemian Rhapsody and we’re all looking forward to that. And as my sons are teens, their primary concern is eating a lot of festive food!

For me personally, successful days out require careful planning and preparation. I always like to have basic survival and first-aid items in my manbag, dictated by the days itinerary. For tomorrow’s adventure, top o’ the list is my OmniXL & Flux Deluxe* from @mr_cfromcali and a dropper-bottle of Green Dragon! :D

Although I have a gorgeous Bocote StashXL, complete with Bocote poker but I’ve never really used it. I never considered it for flower storage, based on the information here. Instead I’ll take a Jyarz classic for grinds, which ime works beautifully in a mobile VC situation. I should probably just sell that stash on the classifieds since odds are I’ll never use it. I’m not sure exactly what I was thinking when I bought it, was probably feeling nostalgic for dugouts! :mental:

I hope everyone is doing well out there and enjoying this strange time between X-mas and NYE. Be safe if you’re still young a/o crazy enough to go out partying on NYE! I’ll be at home, vaping good herb. :ko:

EDIT: I neglected to mention that I am going to a friends as well, where we’ll sneak off to his studio and I’ll introduce him to the VC & the magical world of IH! I’ve got an M to give him but not an extra IH, lol! I don’t want anyone to think that I’ll be vaping on the Tube or on the street, I’m all about risk assessment. It’s very much a crime here and I’m not getting nicked in front of my family. Noooosiree! I’m too old and too pretty to go to jail :p ! Some day maybe, the UK will allow a person to cultivate & possess this miraculous plant. Thank y’all and goodnight!

* please check out the last couple pages if you care what I think about this bad-ass & good-looking** IH!

** This is the IH for Derek Zoolander, if he was smart enough to vape cannabis. And a real person. ;)

Loving my vapcap experience so far and locking myself for all the desktop stuff I bought over the last few months. Everything is now being sold or in storage. IH + vapcap = game change.

Wanting to try dabs with the organic cotton. Now where to find certified Muji cotton pads...search begins

I thought both aluminum and SS were fair game... You inhale far more toxic things living in a valley walking down a street with heavy traffic. Most drinking water and food contains trace amoumts of aluminum as its naturally occurring in soil.
To take that to an extreme hyperbole, sometimes we breath in radon, so we shouldn’t worry about staying away from radioactive substances. We inhale smoke each day, so why bother saying fuck combustion?

We are daily exposed to harmful things, but that doesn’t seem like a reason not to limit exposure where reasonably possible. Obviously that line is different for everyone.

1. That looks amazing.
2. Can you recommend a source for the organic cotton? I’d love to try it.

I've seen you mention this recently. @Squiby, you enjoy your setup, so i assume you don't have this issue?
I don't use degummed hemp fiber to vape concentrates, I use it to filter plant matter from entering the air path, so I haven't found this to be an issue. I change my filter whenever the taste goes off.

I use a concentrate pad to vape concentrates.

Basically I squish the sides of a disk shaped concentrate pad into a cylinder shape with a pair of pliers. I cut the cylinder in half to make two short squat cylinders. Each one can be pushed into a tip's herb chamber, filling it. Place a blob of concentrate on top of the pad, pushing it down onto and into the pad.

Here's additional detail and pics on how I go about making a concentrate pad for a Vapcap tip.

I start with a flat disk shaped S&B concentrate pad.
lim9t.jpg

With a pair of flat pliers I start squishing the edges of the pad. Slowly its diameter reduces and it starts turning from a disk into a cylinder shape. Just keep turning it as you press against the sides of the disk until the resulting cylinder is the diameter of your Vapcap tip. The wire is pretty easy to reshape.
ir6ck7.jpg

Then I take a sharp pair of cutting pliers or even a good sturdy pair of sharp scissors and cut the cylinder in half. There may be a few loose strands of wire that you can shake off. But generally the pad stays intact.
2cwlmdv.jpg

Place one of the halves in a tip. You should be able to just push it down into the tip. You may have to reshape it's diameter a bit more with the pliers.

Then I just butter the top, put the cap on and heat maybe a second or two past the click. Once heated I tend to hold it in a more or less horizontal position.

You can see here the concentrate sitting on top of the pad which takes up the herb chamber.

I love vaping concentrates this way. Often I will put a good amount of shatter on the pad and take it out with me as I do chores around the property. It's an all day sipper. Heat it and take a toke then cool and back in the pocket till later. My only caution is that if you're going to load more concentrate than you're going to vape in one go, then keep the Vapcap horizontal until it cools before stowing it away until later.

I experience this too. Strong flavor in the back of my throat upon swallowing. Doesn't last long for me though - only a few swallows. Figured it was just residual vapor taste from inhaling.

Do you draw vapor directly into your lungs or do you mouthpull by drawing first into your mouth then inhaling fresh air along with the pulled vapor?

Possibly Mouthpulling could resolve the sensation you're experiencing in your throat...
