CCA710 LIGER - AIR

I've been dabbing off of titanium since HMK and his sister invented modern day dabbing with the original kut vape skillet. Before that I used the concentrate attachment on my vapor tech (the Cannabis Cup winner 20 years ago).

In theory titanium is better for transferring heat to an insert. It is also more durable and allows the manufacturer to use more complicated designs. The issue here is that dude is depleating the heat available in the insert. He needs to do dabs that are more appropriate for the thermal mass, to turn up the temperature to match his dab size, or to use glob mode so the heater coil is transferring additional heat though the titanium to maintain the temps on the sapphire (and to compensate for thermal lag). Also, are you using the CCA profile on your kubeone? if you're using a quartz profile instead of a titanium one then that's going to not be as good of a match.

Titanium is a better thermal conduit then Court. Quartz has higher thermal Mass especially if you're comparing three or four mm to maybe one mm at the most on the liger air.

The last time I was able to get dabs for less than 15 / G, I bought a QP but that source is gone and I just don't see myself needing to do penny dabs at current prices. I know things are different for people in other areas of the country but for most of us, a dab the size of a bb or 2 is as large as one really needs or wants to go on a regular basis. The liger offers an incredible weight to performance ratio, is extremely efficient, and produces excellent flavor with BB sized dabs.

I think these newer High terpene mixes have a higher entropy of vaporization, so they take more energy to vaporize even if it's at a lower temperature.

There is nothing wrong with using titanium in the way the Josh is doing with his company. I don't think it is fair for you to make these statements implying that his fundamental manufacturing process is flawed because it uses titanium, when that is not what is going on. He is selling the liger as a lightweight device. Maybe he will come out with a heavyweight device or find a way to increase the thermal mask for crazy people that want to take giant penny dabs at super low temperatures and don't want to use glob mode. The cool thing about him having his own machine shop now is that he can come up with these new designs and make small changes with high precision and high tolerances.

However if people are getting misled by your statements and believe that there is something wrong with using titanium in nail manufacturing then he won't be able to come up with new technology for us to play with. I know they're working on a bunch of new designs over there, for me I've been very happy with CCA products for several years and I can't wait to see what they come out with in the future!

I just plan for slow shipping times. I will place an order and months or weeks later it will show up generally on my birthday (for the last 3 years, oddly enough). He really should put 3 to 6 week waiting in his order form, at least tell he catches up on his backlog.

The problem with having a backlog of orders is that you want to work as hard as you can on getting them out but you also have more customers contacting you and that takes time from manufacturing. This happened to me at a former workplace seven or eight years ago. The phone would not stop ringing with people asking about the orders and we didn't have enough time to give as good at customer service as we like because we needed to get the orders out, also we were working overtime and not performing as well because of it.

I bet Josh raised his prices as a way to throttle the orders until he catches up. I know the dude is trying and says he is crazy busy still.

Those obsidian inserts are pretty good I would have taken a free insert if I was that guy or if I wanted a partial refund I would have requested it before going online to complain publicly.

Remember when his website glitched a few years back and allowed people to buy any configuration of liger kit for $99 if they change the color after adding the inserts and caps. One guy came out here bitching cuz he wouldn't the sell him a $700 kit for a hundred bucks. He got nothing whereas I was nicer and more patient and Josh actually came with a compromised for me after his stock numbers were better. I have been a loyal customer since.

Give him a break, I think the logistics here are a lot more complicated and difficult than we understand. It seems like he is trying to the scale his company to improve a logisitics but it takes time. Honestly I am amazed that the transition from CAD design to running an actual machine shop in-house went so smoothly. The quality of the machine work is higher than ever then the firm he was outsourcing manufacturing to and they have been machining for several years. That is an amazing accomplishment.

Let's see how he does after he is done with the backlog. If it still takes him 3 to 4 weeks to ship an item then I'm still going to buy from him.
So, while I agree...as posted above...that there is nothing wrong with a Ti Liger banger with an insert, I do have to disagree with you about CCA710's business practices.

In a word, they suck balls. I'm sorry, but I have watched this train wreck for two years....it seems worse than before...and none of it is excusable to me.

If you have the patience and tolerance to put up with CCA710's business practices, good for you.

But it is entirely reasonable, based on the past factual evidence, for others to feel quite differently.

True the delays are well noted. Hopefully he can get that under control as things scale up and the backlog is caught up with.

Really though I'm sure it's hard to release new products at that scale without pre orders. I mean he can only make so many units per day. Is he supposed to hold off for a couple of months while he makes 200 units and then just have an inventory sitting around? I don't think he can afford to have that much inventory sitting around, so he has to do a pre-order so he can afford to handle the first wave of customers. He has limits in the amount of these and he can make that it's hard to deal with customers that come in waves. My family's business use have slow seasons and busy seasons. It's very hard to scale up and down a business for dynamic customer flows. It used to be that somebody had to get huge investment from a venture capital firm before a product like this could be released. By taking pre-orders he was able to not deal with all the Venture Capital BS, and to pass the investment savings to the pre-order customers. We all knew prices were going to come up and that was our incentive and compensation for our patience.

While not being ideal in handling the spike of customers during the initial release, Josh's current workflow has been really efficient in allowing him to innovate and to bring these products to Market faster than it would be without our pre-orders.

I guess what I'm saying is that the shipment delays are just the price of innovation at that scale. His business is growing and that should change as the scales change.

So in conclusion by supporting Josh and being patient with understandable delays in the releasing of new products you are directly encouraging crowdsourced, ground-up, and independent American innovation. Your patience is an investment in his company and the future of Dabs.

I own 3 ligers and will by another when he releases. you have this mind set that I hate cca or something. I never said that. I just hate titanium and want others to know they have options.

I dont benefit in and way if he buys an adapt Tech insert or not.

And no, it's funny that you think he's paying me off or giving me free shit to say this. Too fucking funny.

I didn't even read that long ass essay cuz really. It just mumble jumble to me. Just you stating how much you love ti I assume.

It's just funny how much you support titanium and if someone else doesnt, you flip a lid. It's almost like you work for cca or get paid to say this. Lol. Smh

I'm selling it because I don't need it. I have other options I prefer over it. I had this made before those options were available as I wanted an sapphire insert in a all glass set up. But I rather buy another ruby with the money I get from selling the sapphire and banger.

You said adapt tech hooks you up too, not me.

maybe you can explain to us why you are selling your quartz rig?

I'm not saying titanium is the ultimate and best material for making a banger but comparing a lightweight titanium rig to a heavy quartz rig is not fair. If you're not going to bother to try to understand and adapt to the thermal dynamics at play then please don't make broad statements on things that you don't understand.

Just trust me it's not the vapor path. I'm not going to bother explaining what's going on again as you are obviously not listening.

People say you are born with two ears and one mouth for a reason... Dang the internet and humans 10 fingers.

lightweight titanium rig to a heavy quartz rig

So many have switched to quartz because of how much less it weighs. I know the air weighs less, but certainly isn't the 28 grams my 4MM (sidewalls included) 25.5mm banger. most will weigh even less.

Taste is subjective. I stopped using the liger 20mm because the size dabs I need made it splash everywhere and was a nightmare to keep clean. Quartz banger on the other hand... Lol

I don't have the greatest sense of smell due to sinus issues. So I can't tell a big difference on flavor like many members can, but I can really taste the difference with a glass bowl and the showerhead and the Ti bowl. What are your thoughts on why this would be?

BTW random side note. I have a titanium rod in my femur so I'm partial to Titanium and it's abilities LOL

@Anon3200 I think part of its like cooking. You can tell a chef a specific pan or temp range is ideal. But them being the chef means they will most likely do what they feel is best. I respect that everyone has a specific stance on doing dabs and what is ideal. But I would say you need to consider this to be partially up to the chef and what they prefer as their cooking (Dabbing) Tech

One of the valued things about @Shooby is he has gone deep down the rabbit hole with the dab game and in turn has done several of us a solid by being granular about his opinion and take on how things work in his kitchen (Dab lab)

Please dont take this post as me siding with anyone or telling you how things are. I am just trying to give you my take of how I see things in the hopes it will help you find a middle ground for these types of topics.

Everyone is passionate about this stuff and this can be misconstrued and so we need to remind ourselves the beauty of being able to ask questions while also having an opinion of what you are hoping to hear.

I bet a BBQ forum gets spicy over the different tech that can be used =P

You kill me. Cuz I promote quartz pi bubble caps, I'm getting paid or getting something for free? So I'm promoting quartz bychris, is he giving any thing for free??? Nooo. I do this because they deserve it for the service and products.

They sell a solid product with exceptional service.

I promote the shit out of Google and the pixel in other forums but do they pay me? I wish!! Or gave me a free phone. But no.

Yeah. Casey will overnight to me. That's enough of a hook up for me. He didn't have to eat the shipping expense. I'm buying it either way. I get tons more free shit or hooks ups from others.

Quartz pi doesn't even know I exist probably other than two orders from me. But I've been telling folks his caps are good and cheap.

Neglassarts caps are good but not cheap. You think I side with shit. I just say the same truth in my eyes. No one is paying me shit to say a dam thing. And if they are fuck them. They can die. I don't give a shit. Cuz you know why? There isn't any one.

I don't need to try to understand what you say cuz I've tried it so many times in so many ways that it's ultimately better in nearly every way.

In my set up.. the only thing basically giving off heat is my insert. Remember, sapphire holds heat almost twice as long as quartz. The quartz is used to heat the sapphire insert. When I torch. My down down is over a minute and a half before I dab at around 440f or lower. Never higher anymore. That's why moisture builds up on the quartz wall. The reclaim isn't being cooked like it is in the oven of the titanium walled liger.

Go buy an adapt Tech sapphires than and a coil set from 710coils then come back to me.

I'm done with this discussion with you as it's just redundant and now annoying. The liger is a great product in itself. My homeboy uses it daily as he dabs outside and is affraid of breaking quartz.

It's just not for me at this stage. But for the simple fact that I offered someone another option on this site doesn't mean I work for a dam company or get compensated for saying anything.

Am I giving out codes? Did I tell that dude to say it's from me??? No, I'm doing this because i believe it's a better solution for me. May not be for others. But least should be an known option for folks that do not know.

Same way the cca and liger got built years ago . From people trying and promoting cuz they like it. I still do even with there shitty service if it's the right thing to do.

The shape of the titanium shower head bowl is bunk. The ledge where the screen sits causes uneven heating and thermal dry spots.

Lol, sorry my phone was doing weird things.

I definitely had issues with the shower head vaporizing material unevenly. Even air flow is critical to a convection style vaporizer. I'm sure I better bowl design could done with titanium.

So I had a messy dabber over last night and he dripped wax on the sides of my obsidian insert. I eventually got it unstuck, but what should I soak it in to get it back to new? I could also torch it.

brucee10,
I’ve used torch and also soaked in iso. I’ve never done PBW on obsidian. Also, enail at 800-900* is nice, if you don’t have any ano to worry about. Carbonizes the crud and you can usually get it off with iso cleaning after that.

Whoever mentioned that getting a 10mm dropdown for this thing was the ticket was right. Nice to pull this dumb adapter off and plug it right into a drop down. I had Rick Barry make me one. Really nice. Fits like a glove.

I can confirm that the hurricane cap gets stuck in the air. Went a day longer than usual without cleaning and low and behold the cap jams. I try to spin the cap and the whole banger comes off with the downstem. Burned my thigh pretty good and burned my wood flooring. Somehow managed to avoid breaking my quartz insert thankfully. Thanks CCA. Well designed!

The hurricane in theory is a great design but the fact it get stuck in the liger is retarded. After it happened to me twice, i went to a glass cap. They never get stuck. Coojo glass on IG. $45 and you pick you colors. best cap for ligers.

@scalescliffs Looks nice. Happy to see that working out for you. as a back up, get yourself a 14mm to 10mm reducer for $12-15. You cant even notice it and works great. Those expensive ass ti adapters are useless. They get stupid expensive for rainbow.

Yeah, props to Shooby for this tip, did the same with mine.

I went with a dropdown from Thick Ass Glass. They have inexpensive ones with just about any size male or female connection going down to the 10mm female. And you can get ones that actually "drop" anywhere from 1-3 inches to improve your line of sight on the bucket. Love watching those Eternal Quartz rubies roll around the dish!

Can't recommend Coojo caps enough, but also love my Chad Bro with modified terp trunk (but CooJo did the mods for me so I call that a CooJo cap as well now lol)
