So stoked people are getting their Splinters shipped out! It's still my daily driver for a while now. Works great out of the box, but once you use it for a while and really dial it in, it'll be hopefully one of the strongest portables you've used! This thing really is great.

Hey everyone, Ryan published his live stream on instagram. You just gotta watch it, it's great. Really informative in so many regards. And he showed the prototype for the future Splinter Z which will be based on the zion heater. :drool: Don't know how long it's up for, so I hope you all manage to catch it.

Went to the girl's house this weekend. Arrived on Wednesday, now it is Sunday night/Monday morning. I am using a 3 battery mod. Just want to say, I have not charged it once. It has held up through 4-5 days of use. Granted, I'm not vaping it nonstop, 2-4 bowls a day. But still.... It is still going strong. Still got enough juice for a day or 2. It's amazing how efficient I'm finding this thing. I can kill a decent sized bowl in just 3 hits or so through my hammer bubbler. Earlier today I actually got too stoned. Rare that happens, but it did.

Splinter still a beast.

@ohmygodimsohigh, gave me a heads up. There's an app (at least for android) called Story Save (not save'R') where you can download a published story for future viewing. It's pretty cool! Thanks, OMGISH!

Edited to add: Per, OMG, you can transfer the file to your computer for viewing if you choose to. (Insert a squealing pig smilie here. :))

Not loving the form factor of a pico+splinter +xlbr. Too tall and narrow, top heavy and unstable.

All Glass at the top which will fall further and hit harder. Keeps tipping over. I've caught it ... So far.

Guess I'm headed for another mod. Sigh, was not looking for a monster base reminiscent of the ghost mv1, but is there really a choice?

Also, I find myself using two hands, which I did not anticipate. The base is so far from the tip of the glass, it just doesn't give me enough control for something I'm ... putting in my mouth. I expect that gets worse not better with a bigger mod.

Didn't foresee how much larger and more unruly the whole setup would be vs the milaana.

Is it really practical?

I decided to give wattage mode a try last night as @AJS was reporting good times with it.

I did get thicker vapour and I like controlling the density via draw speed. However I found I still wanted to run at 40w despite other stating that's on the high side. I was aiming for dark ABV though so maybe others prefer theirs on the lighter side. I was running through an MFLB Orbiter.

This is why I'm really hoping an oversized side-by-side mod comes out with an option to have a DNA chip as well. Maybe one day @RastaBuddhaTao or a resident modder will make some out of wood to compliment these new 510 heaters.

I've literally never gone above 35, I could combust on 30 if I wanted to. Maybe our mods just react differently.

Possibly, I was wondering if the mod or the heater could be affecting the wattage requirement.

Edit: one more factor might be relative humidity. Its 68% here at the moment so that might require a bit more oomph to get things going.

Personally I don't mind, the splinter is delivering the goods in a quality fashion.

I'm also still learning the ropes with these on demand convection vapes. They are fairly easy to pick up and figure out but I can see that more time/usage is required to master them.
