My 5-piece EDV (Every Day Vape) VapCap set is always smiling !

It includes
1) My favourite & severely torchered cap .A true survivor !
2) my only 4th gen ,seven fin tip.
3) a 5th gen ,5 fin tip .
4) a 62 mm standard titanium,carbless stem,with it's condenser .
5) a 79 mm XL titanium,also carbless stem ,wit it's condenser.

( As you can see I use one cap for two VapCaps.
Yes,since all my friends have their own VC already and
I can not use two VCs at the same time ...
Then the other cap ,can wait until the one used ...dies.
So until that sad moment ,the other cap is saved )

My set is searching for a cosy nest.
A nylon or leather pouch of some sort .
Note : we do not like zippers !
Any ideas ?

Cheers.
:freak:

I recieved my order of custom Vapcap stems from @stardustsailor quuuite a while ago now.. My order was for a 63-BRK-02 and 80-STN-08. But due to a long and uninteresting tale I have not been able to post about them until now. So here is my review!

As always Prolusio posts are long so strap in OR,

TL : DR Have you seen the pics of his creations? Do you use/love vapcaps? Get one of these stems, you will not be disappointed!

Pics first! 63BRK02 is the barky top one, the 80STN08 is the lower pink one.

This one you can really see the golden hues of the stem on the edges. I do have 3000K bulbs so my house has the typical yellowish warm light; but the stem itself does have golden tones as well which really makes it shine at the right angle.

I dunno really hard to get the full scope of the BRK in pics.

Let me start off by saying @stardustsailor is excellent to work with. Response was immediate and he started work on my order just as quickly. Contacted Thursday and he had my stems finished over the weekend, shipped start of the following week. Can't ask for more!

Everything about the process was clear due to his numbering system; I was able to describe what I wanted with a single line. It's sometimes tricky trying to describe what you want with custom orders, but that naming system takes a lot of the confusion out.

SDS sent me pictures of the stems and made sure the finish and colour came out to my liking, before accepting any payment. The hue of the BRK came out between two shades, an 02/03. Nothing wrong with it, I actually think it looks even better than the original shade I had imagined.. but SDS is such a perfectionist that "almost" was not good enough. He sent me several pictures of the stem and made it clear what I was looking at because it's hard to translate into an image. @stardustsailor really wants the item you get to be the one you wanted, no shenanigans here! He also included some brown O-rings because he thought it would look sharp with my infra pink 08 stem.

Package arrived very quickly, like well over a month ago . No customs either! Each stem was wrapped securely shipped in a small padded envelope.

The stems themselves are fantastic, stunning and most importantly exactly as described :).

I am absolutely thrilled with the colour of the infra pink stem. Pink is one of those colours that can easily look tacky but the anodizing of my stem has golden hues that make it feel full and rich. More like a stunning gem than cheap coating.

What I wanted from the 80STN08 was to a stem that stands out with a bright metallic shine, but isn't too slippery. My main use for this stem is to keep on me when working in the snow. I wanted something with a finish that grips so it won't fall out of frozen fingers, and I wanted it bright so I can find it easily when it slips out anyway . This stem accomplishes all of this perfectly.

The 63BRK02/03 stem is really, really hard to describe. Sitting on the table it looks plain and unassuming, its hue a dark antique bronze, almost brown. A fragment of an ancient tree.. but the second you pick it up the light hits the peaks and valleys of the BRK texture so that it practically becomes an optical illusion!

The bronze/brown quickly fades to a more coppery/purple undertone as the gleaming dark grey/silver of Ti shines through overtaking everything else.. as you turn it further the light fades to an almost purple hue. Depending on the light and angle the stem can look just like textured Ti, or slightly lavender purple Ti, or deep antique brown; and it blends between each hue as you move it. It really is impressive how the blended anodizing turns out. It's just like owning a unique wooden piece that's grain only becomes more appealing the more you handle it. But because it requires handling to really get the full scope of it's spectrum, it's also pretty classy! I think. Doesn't look ostentatious from a distance at all. Which was my main goal for this piece.

I was a little surpised to find the BRK finish wasn't much grippier than the STN.. STN might be better in that respect actually! Not an issue at all just an observation that was interesting to me.

The Ti material itself is very nice quality. Or it feels like it at least! I dunno how to test or grade Ti, but it is extremely lightweight and strong. I really like the feel of this tubing. Especially the MP end! When I first got the stems I was worried the tapered MP end might be too thin/sharp but it did not feel this way to me. Makes it clear which side to put the tip on.

My tips fit perfectly in both stems. The fit is very similar to the M. It's easy to swap the tip but it also holds very securely with no wobble or worry it'll come loose. I think the ID is pretty near perfect. I was pleased to see the insides of the tubing were clean and smooth as well.. one thing I dislike about Dynavap is the occasional black manufacturing residue left behind at times. I think my stems were ready to go out of the box! But I gave them a seemingly unnecessary wipe regardless.

One thing I've been enjoying a lot is using them outside I get super cool hits from how well the Ti stems conduct heat. I took the condenser out because it's not really necessary IMO with this carbless construction, so all that vapour spreads out and hits the cold TI walls.. Mmm, smooooth. Very pleasant during this snowy winter!

In summary I am very pleased with every aspect of my transaction with @stardustsailor. He worked really hard, and quickly, to create something unique for me according to my specifications. The product I recieved has met/exceeded all of my expectations. His craftsmanship is excellent, These stems would make an excellent gift for any vapcap enthusiast (or in my case makes a really unique piece to add to an ever expanding collection :D)

I had one suggestion for improving the stems which was to make a more defined MP region, SDS's take on the M taper.. But SDS had already thought of that! Before I even suggested it he's already turning out a new banded design that incorporates that feature.:clap: Super excited to get my hands on the new style some day.

Anyway, thanks for reading! And thanks to @stardustsailor for their excellent work and impeccable service.

@Mr.Sifter can only encourage you to pay heed to @Summer and her wisdom. That basic kit is so nice to have, you can make a Squiby-filter-sammich*, and way less $ than its constituent parts separately. Get it.

I can't help with SBM, I didn't get it as I didn't like the idea of that texture on the mouthpiece. Just thinking of it gives me the willies. But I am strange, as pretty much everyone here can testify. It's just a surface treatment though so it will offer nothing else to the M.

@stardustsailor Hey my friend, that's a beautiful wrecking crew you have. I really like the 62mm on the bottom, love the texture and LOVE the looks of the MP. Maybe some day, you will make another?

@Prolusio thank you sir! You make the most thoughtful reviews, all aspects covered - you know what I care about. Good reading, can't say I'm surprised with your stardust dealings though. It seems to be the universal experience in these parts.

Seems like a Dynavap holidays for me. Santa is bringing me the Omni-XL and both phattpiggie and Pipes have me down on their respective "Nice" lists! And while the last 2 won't be here by then, they should arrive in time to crush those post-holiday blues. You've got to plan ahead people!

* yes, you have to say it like this. All one word.

@Summer shared a pic of the stem she is getting from SDS (@stardustsailor ), thought
she wouldn’t mind if I shared.
IMG_0004.jpg

Close, but the one I'm having made will be turquoise not mint green. The smooth silver mp portion is gonna be omitted because I'll be using my omni XL mp. The silver band above the tip is gonna be hammered like the top band. And I'm going for a carb hole w/ a finger recess placed further down toward the tip than on Dynavap's ss & ti models. I can't tell you how much I'll looking forward to getting this stem. I'm gonna use it to replace the Omni XL stem which I don't care for.

@Prolusio, good to hear that you can get an M version & not have to use a condenser. This might be the next one on my list. I'm just gonna give SDS a chance to develop more finishes. :p

@stardustsailor, since you have both the 4th & 5th gen tips I'd very much appreciate a comparison of the 2. Thanks!

curious about that too.

and sry for not heaving read the whole thread (or the half)

how long does the SS Cap stay hot after 1-2 heat cycles ?

in essence, how fast can a 2-3 puffs be done.
from putting out of your pocket until storing it away back again ?

That's been my formula for awhile. No nugs.

Out of laziness mostly, I've been doing nothing but fine grind on all my vapes.
Vapes great with consistent abv.Grind it and forget it.
Newvape fine grinder on my Black Friday list.

I use a fine grind for most of my vapes too.
It has worked well for me.
I also have the NewVape fine grinder on my BF list. I have yet to find a bad review of it.

Oh Mr Sifter, you must be sore after sitting on that fence for soooo long.

I assume by 'SS cap' you mean SS Tip... The SS tip will stay hotter longer than the Ti-tip. I can get more puffs per cycle with an M than Ti-Tip, not a world of difference though.

Below is a 'per heat cycle' comparison...

With Ti-Tip i can take one 5-7sec direct inhale draw with the carb fully open.
With the M i can get two 4-5sec draws like above.

Or

With the Ti-tip i can get 2-3 mouthpulls (like smoking a cigarette) with the carb fully closed.
With the M I'll get 4-5 of these mouthpull puffs.

Putin is a War Criminal
if you bought a blackwood ti woody (looks like it applies to other woody's as well) with this gen 4 tip from puffitup, with the BF 20% discount, you could get a whole vc with that sought-after tip for as little as $64. Great deal.
Oops, not so much... "We're currently unable to offer discounts on DynaVap products; our apologies!" I don't know if there are dates this doesn't apply...

yes, i see. thank you.
I asked for the time it needs to cool down to a temp that lets you out it back in your pocket.
cool down to the touch so nothing burns my pocket or bag.
thats what i am asking for.

For those looking for a Fine Grinder...I have several and none of them grinds as fine as the one at the following link....

https://www.amazon.com/Official-Volcano-Vaporizer-Grinder-Orange/dp/B00B0AH3L8#customerReviews

It’s got the Storz-Bickel name on it, which I’d put in the same quality category as Dynavap. Looking at the fine-ground herb, I don’t know how it could get any finer. Also, look at the reviews on that page as well. :)

The S&B has a good grinder, does grind fine but gets gummed up a tad and isn't the easiest to turn.
The Newvape is titanium with more size and heft to work with. Kinda bummed the owner is a tad touchy it seems.

The vapcap is safe to put in the included storage tube after the cool down click has happened. 2nd cause there are two cool down clicks too.
Two heat cycles can be done pretty quickly and stealthy like and have you back on the move in well under two minutes. Faster with a triple flame, but I don't roll with those. Each heat cycle is a hit for one, not a hit and pass it till the cool down click.
And instead of looking to replace your Mighty with the M, just get the M to go along with your Mighty and GH.

Okay @Mr.Sifter here ya go:

After 3 heat/toke cycles, so after that 3rd hit, I can immediately stick the M immediately in my back pocket if I'm wearing jeans and barely feel warmth. Because there's a layer of denim between it and my bum. Front pocket in jeans or trousers (any pocket), where it's just a fabric? You will feel it then. I would say the cap is briefly hot but not bad, it's never left a mark. Certainly no worries of pocket or bag combusting! :uhoh: The metal that the cap is made of is so very thin, it cools quickly. Hope this is all clear mate. This internets communication can be difficult without miscommunication regardless of ones native language.

I'm sure many here have more experience, I can only offer mine? See! @SloJimFizz was already there while I was writing this! Now this guy knows stuff! But I've typed it out so I'm posting it, sorry FC!

i appreciate the nice words.
but mighty and solo have to go.
I only want (need) a device for vaping .05 - .1g once a week.

and I think this will be done by the hopper and its backup.

ok, no need for a vapcap since the hopper outperforms the VC.

Of course I can make another.Pm me for that.
I'll be away until Wednesday. But when I'll return and
after finishing with the stems of a short waiting list ,then I can make one for you ,
if you'd still like that.

@stardustsailor, since you have both the 4th & 5th gen tips I'd very much appreciate a comparison of the 2. Thanks!

Apart the number of fins the 5th gen Ti tip (5 fins )has 20% less mass than it's precedent .
That means that the 5th gen tip is 20% faster than the 4th gen tip ( 7fins).

But while I like the speed of the 5th gen tip ,somewhat I miss the "body" that
the vapor ,produced from the 4th gen tip ,has.

The difference is quite small ,though.
You've to be a realy keen & experienced VapCaper to tell the difference with eyes closed.

Cheers.

Love my vapcaps so much I’m in the mood to sell my GH and have been for some time. I’ve only used it about 4 times (got it the summer of 2016...one year after ordering it). For some reason Classifieds scares me. :D But not to worry, I’ll get the courage one of these days. Best not to put it off. :)

Edit- I see you opted for a hopper. Best of luck, hope you don't get a lemon like me:disgust:
