my magnet that's on the detachable part of the battery door also needs to be reglued but no biggie. tubo was rly all i needed for this trip, i just need to bring more batteries around with me!
unfortunately you are not the first that this has happened to. also this is something that is known to happen to the evic vtwo/vtc minis.
you can glue it back in with any universal glue. just make sure you insert it the right way and not in reverse polarity.

here is the manual:
Bv2Uxxg.png

it is missing the instructions for cruise. i will add it once the firmware is at a stable release state.
under trouble shoot there is a point: reset coil resistance to default. i wanted to keep it super compact and have a longer faq/manual online. it will eventually come... until then ask here or in direct message/email if something is not clear.

About the magnet issue. My both magnets fell off ,and i was stupid enough to put one of them the wrong way ,and it started pushing my door . FJ advised me on how to remove it though, and since then i use it without the magnets it works much better IMO :D...

yooo I did the same thing haha. i didn't glue it yet so should be okay. do tell how to use without magnets though as I'd probably prefer that

also, after trying low temps, i get satisfying vapor and flavor rivaling my UDs and Milaana. the jr has a bit better taste but you gotta be a master w technique to really get it. the tubos flavor is slightly different and lacks the signature of the brick obviously but ya, definitely very good.

.188 resistance and still get nice vapor at 345

i agree w @little maggie that I wouldn't have been so panicked the other day if the tubo wasn't by far my most used device. my excitement for a 2 battery model has definitely risen since my incident though...

I've been taking my Tubo with me when I leave the house recently. It's a lot of parts and pieces, and I really worry about breaking stems while hauling it. My concerns are exacerbated by the fact that, though legal here, weed must be locked in the vehicle's trunk while transporting it, so it needs to be securely packed to avoid damage.

So, I'm thinking about buying a hard case with removable/adjustable foam inserts, similar to this; https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...d_t=201&pf_rd_p=2931645502&pf_rd_i=B017P38M7C

I'd like to find the smallest size that ideally will accommodate the Tubo Evic, 3-4 batteries, a 2-battery charger, two bent stems (best to be prepared for lipstick incidents), and DDave's cooler. Oh, and a little stash, of course.

Has anyone found a case that will serve this purpose well? Thanks in advance.

No!!!!!!
;)

But seriously, carting around these stems isn't much fun!

I received @DDave's kit today and love how snugly the stems fit in the holster. Wish there were a longer case to firmly hold my cooler and long stem.

The funnel works to effortlessly insert the rimless screens and the basket screens fit nice and tight.

Great bit of kit @DDave! I'm going to load all four up for my next adventure.

I've got a few Pelican cases set up for different vapes. I think it's an 1120 that I use most often. $5 foam inserts so I use the same box for multiple pieces and have different foam custom cut for each.

There are cheaper alternatives, but I can always find the perfect size and parts are readily available.

Nope, ain't happenin'! I'm way too self-conscious for that.

Thanks for sending me in the right direction. I've ordered the 1150, to get just a little more space for accessories. Soon my Tubo will be traveling in comfort.

It still won't be what some would consider to be a true portable, but close enough for me. I rarely carry a vape in my pocket anyway.

Did I mention I love the Tubo? Since I switched the Algo setting to Boost, my heating failures have gone away, it stopped jumping out of Cruise mode, and the menus stopped acting wonky. With the latest firmware update, I'm also loving the Cruise status bar. Awesome!

I can look into it, definitely. What's reason for longer stems? Cooling?

In the stems of the pack you just ordered, keep the internal screen in as much of the ground glass portion as you can, not pushing it till it butts up against the spot where the stem narrows. You'll notice a cooling effect from doing this...
Mine arrived today and I love it. I was already using the stems with my whip but this is such a great idea.

anyone wanna shoot me a link to the new(er) firmware? :haw:

just getting home now so will read thru what I missed, but what's this about switching the algorithm?
NOOOOO! I'm feeling more and more that I need to have been a math or science major to make sense of the tubo. Is there another software update? And algorithms? And why would I want 2 batteries? The tubo works as good as the zion even though the latter has 2 batteries.
Fortunately, so far, it works great without making sense of it. No

this made me think some people had it already but idk

Ah well, I'm sure @funkyjunky will share it with the rest of us after some vigorous testing!

I am curious still about what you meant @RelaxedNow ?

You just changed the algo from PID to boost? Please lemme know cos I am having same issues that you were having prior to your switch :)

and @little maggie
I only mentioned the 2 battery one for out-n-about (would have been nice on my vaca!) and also bc, instead of buying a brand new 1 battery tubo since I damaged my current one... I could just buy the 2battery one and it won't be AS redundant! :freak:

lol calm down @little maggie & @muunch pretty sure Funky said he's only working on it now so it is not available just yet (unless I'm wrong, then I'll be frantically clamoring along with you ;))

Yes, I've been fortunate enough to try out the new firmware, and I got so excited I spilled the beans. I hope I haven't irritated @funkyjunky with my lack of self-control. I don't believe he has the update nailed down the way he'd like yet, so I'd imagine he'll want to wait until it's finalized before releasing it.

But, changing the algorithm, even without the firmware update, does overcome the problems I described earlier (exiting menus unexpectedly, failure to heat, jumping out of Cruise mode). As there's no danger in changing the algorithm, just go to; Menu>Vaping>Algo. Then, change it to from "PID" to any other option (OFF, SWEET, or BOOST). Mine is set to BOOST, but I understand any of the three will work. If you're not experiencing those problems though, I'd recommend leaving well-enough alone.

Mine does still occasionally have a couple of errors; screen freezes and/or failure to go into Cruise mode. However, they occur very rarely, and are corrected by either hitting the +/- buttons or removing the battery (I can't remember which fixes what at the moment). These errors are so infrequent that it's not really a big deal.

I've gotta work on that self-control. You'd think that at my age I'd have mastered it by now!

I love my Tubo.

haha, very good :)

yes, there is a new state of the firmware. the two major things are, i took out a line that protected the battery more than necessary (imo) in PID algo and produced the heat up issue. and i added a bar that shows when cruise is activated which is running out according to time left. unfortunately there is still the rare freeze when entering cruise mode, at least now it can be seen on the display when the cruise bar disappears.
i will post it here soon, some more testing. i thought @RelaxedNow is a good tester since i feel he was "complaining" about the heatup issue the most :p

edit: meh forgot to say that yes the heatup issues can already be avoided by switching the algo to something else than PID.
the difference is in how they react to a deviation from the desired temperature value. PID can be tuned (i did that) to quickly reach temp and not overshoot drastically. the others are more basic algorithms but get the job done as well. in practice it might not be obvious which algorithm is at work. however from experiments i can tell that the PID holds the temp more stable and reacts "better" to changes in draw speed. thats why i ultimately want PID to work flawless.

something regarding clock:
to change the clock, set it to your time in the menu and then LONG PRESS THE FIRE BUTTON TO SAVE. took me a while to realize this after adjusting the time several times without it being saved...

I tried boost algo and switched it back before cruise even got halfway done. It just didn't feel as robust. Of course I tried after reading @funkyjunky post so who knows :uhoh:

I'd rather turn it on/off or slap the battery in/out til the code gets fully optimized or whatever ya wanna call it. It's really not a biggie anyway. I got home yesterday and am still using my tubo and haven't used any of the other vapes that have been just sitting for the past 2 weeks I've been away:sherlock:

edit: the cruise mode status bar sounds awesome. thank you very much for that

Yeah, initially I felt the same way about the "robustness" of PID versus Boost. However, somewhere along the way, I've become convinced it's heating just as well. I don't know what could have changed. Perhaps I'm just thrilled enough about the fact it's working consistently to have come to a perception that makes me feel good. :) Really though, I think Boost is working well, as I've switched back to PID several times, and don't notice any more or any less vape-power. But that's me.

Bottom line is, if you have a preferred setting all is good, IMO.

I know what you're saying about using only the Tubo. The Mighty is a good unit, obviously, but when it's offered to me now, I cringe a little inside. Oh, wait, that may have more to do with my buddy's shitty weed than the vaporizer. Another bit of advice; Don't walk into a weed shop and ask for the $100 oz. Worst tasting weed you'll ever vape.....like mint dog-poop. I'd have given him a hard time about it (isn't that what friends are for?), but it was a group setting.

Geesh, I shouldn't wake-and-bake.

Shit sounds like the shake I get for 60 an oz is better than your 100 dollar oz hahah. I've never bought bad 100 dollar oz because I get to see the weed before I buy it haha
