The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

i got my vape today and have been baked all day! i wound up letting the better of me get to me & scared myself away from eBay when i found several places claiming to be authorized retailers and tell you that you will not get you warranty if you buy from any unauthorized retailer..a quick email to arizer, with links and i got an answer back from arizer telling me the ebayers saying they were authorized dealers wasn't..i had asked because gotvape has a price match program if from a real authorized dealer which i couldn't find any that had a lower price....i wound up buying mine for $299 from gotvape for piece of mind...i love it..its whisper quite & blows up bags quick..i don't know how i have gotten by w/o this wonderful machine..i put the bowl 1/2 full to the black and have gotten 4-5 bags out of it over the day w/a stir between bags 2 & 3 and that little bit has kept me happy all day, so it will eventually pay for itself by the efficiency this machine gets out of your bud!

I'm going to order me another whip set that includes the bowl, elbow, & tubing and keep it strictly for tobacco, so not to take taste away from my herbs & try to use the extremeQ to quit smoking cigarettes by vaping the nicotine! now to find a good herb/temp chart...oh btw..the 3 separate heat sensors in the Extreme Q takes an average of these 3 sensors & gives real predictable repeatable performances..it goes to 500*F which i will never need except during pre-heat, but from turn on to wide open 500*F in less than a minute..which is good for preheat & then back temp down. will post again as i learn more!

Here's my setup. I didn't load any weed in the bowl for the pics but I tried once with a pinch and the second time I put quite a bit like 0.3 or so and it barely browned after trying for 5-10 minutes at 195.

Nice I was thinking of the best way to use my extreme q and thought up the carbon filter idea. he Iam so ordering up a carbon filter,going to get ones that had bubble in it. Its going to be sweet,onetime i just used the q on fan 3 and put it above my toke and smoked it outta my bong,it was awesome so that inspired me. I wouldn't mind one of those hydratubes tho

Sup guys! been reading for a while on FC but finally decided to register. Glad so many people have the Q, so i can bum some advice and knowledge. It's my first vape but it's awseome, way better then a lotta junk vapes ive used before and considering the price of the volcano its twice the vape...

I had a question (non green related lol), I bought mine from Arizer main page. It comes with a small bag of 'orange mandarin' or some scented flowers like that. And i tossed it in the potpourrie dish, and it doesn't emmit smell at all.... Am i suppose to put liquid in it, or is it just really dried out and old??? It's wierd, in the instructions it says to use as aromatherapy you need too put the whip in and point it where you want scent to come out but i have no been doing that, sounds unnecessary.... anyways input would be awseome cuz i think id legit use it for smell once in a rare while...

I think i cracked one of the elbows already, dropped it and tried to catch it with my foot instead i kicked it lol... I like the ones that KJ rockwise has on his site, but can you get those in a store at smoke shops for the Q???? or does it have to be online, walmart has a very poor selection of 420 products lol....

Now that im registered ill be around more often and askin my questions, but ill defs post my knowledge and pointers if i have any... taker easy

just put a small amount of water on the stuff you want to use and turn on the fan, have the vape on the heat setting it tells you, if it tells you.

Do not put water directly on in the potpourri dish as there is a hole in the bottom that will probably drop directly onto your heating element. Water on a hot glass/ceramic element is not a good idea.

yea i forgot to add not to over do it, you dont want it wet! you want it moist and you should probably do it before you pack the bowl.

Just got an Extreme Q Last week. Been experementing. Thank god for this board. At first I was a bit disapointed, then I read advice on the board and am alot happier. The 2 real key peices were warm up time percolating the herb and using dry herb.
I have excellent connections and am scoring strains competing for the canibiis cup. It almost seems a shame to have to dry out this magnificent stuff to vape. Right now I leave a bud out for a couple days prior to grinding.
Got a question. Lets say I fill the elbow, take a couple hits. now I'm good for a while. Lets say I'd like to take a couple more hits off the same elbow in 20 to 30 min. Do you leave the unit on? Do you leave the herb percolating? If using cyclone and whipping, do you leave it percolating if planning on coming back in 20 to 30 min?
When doing bags, seems best to fill bag after bag untill the stuff is spent. That means needing more then 2 bags. Is this how everyone else does it? Or do you just fill 2 then come back later?
Question about temps. Seems the consensus is to start at a lower temp with the whip, 190-210 and slightly higher for bags 210-230. Is this correct? Either way I tend to raise the temp throughout the process. say 210 1st baloon, 220 2nd baloon ect. is this a good way of doing it?

As long as you don't have the fan on, it's safe to leave the unit running between hits. You're going to lose a very minimal amount of herb idle since there's no airflow to move the hot air across it. I typically lower the temp prior to letting it go idle just to be safe.

As far as temperature, it depends on what you want out of the herb. When I'm needing the painkiller properties I found it best to go ahead and skip right to 230 or so. If I just want to get a headchange with less of the CBN body munge I will go at about 185-195.
It varies plant to plant of course.

Experimentation is key. You'll find a comfort zone after a bit but keep messing with options. Try the elbow pack if you have not already.

Hey, first time vaporizer buyer here, having a bit of a problem. I just bought the Extreme Q, and after doing the initial startup (maximum temperature, leaving fan speed at 3 for half an hour), I loaded my first bowl through the plastic whip. I must have done something wrong, because my bowl tasted like plastic, even after two subsequent attempts.

When I examined the screen attached to interior of the machine (what you place the cyclone bowl on), I noticed that it appeared to be burned, or tarnished in someway. How could this have happened if I only used temperatures of 230 degrees? I am now attempting another "cleansing" of the machine at 260 degrees, the true maximum temperature.

You don't put the tube on the heater, you put the glass chamber on the heater.

No, like I said, I put the "cyclone" glass bowl over the heater, which then attaches to the whip system. At no time did I touch any plastic to the heater.

Did the whip melt, is that what you're saying? Unless there was an errant piece of plastic on the heater by accident I can't imagine how this could happen. Please explain. And good luck!

Kind of out of focus but that does look like something covering the element. Is there anything over the wire mesh that melted?

I would probably contact airizer, you may have had a faulty unit or other problem.

I'm sorry, I'm trying to be as clear as possible. I never directly attached the whip to the heating element. When I did the initial start up burn at maximum temperature, I didn't place anything on the heating element. The two times I attempted to use the device were exactly as specified by the directions, connection the whip to the loaded cyclone bowl. I cannot imagine anything melting over the wire mesh if I put the cyclone bowl over it properly.

One other piece of information that I remember is that after the initial heating (not the two attempted uses), the exterior plating of the Q became significantly warm after about 30 minutes. I'm not sure this is normal, because I remember my friend showing how his unit's casing was heat resistant even at high temperatures. I'm going to try and contact Arizer -- I am just disappointed because I only purchased this a few days ago. Aren't these supposed to be durable/reliable?

The Q is an extremely easy unit to take apart and remove the glass tube around the heating element. the screen can be pushed out through the bottom of the glass tube and replaced. if something melted on the heater and screen It may have been an assembly or packaging problem. The screen can be replaced but if something melted on the ceramic heating element you may not be able to clean that.

I'm sure that Arizer will help you out. Wires may be melting so definitely have it checked out by Arizer.
If you have a warranty don't do anything to it as it may void the warranty.

My Q has no plastic or burning smell of any kind. The outside can gets a little warm but that's it.

Very true. For Father's Day, my awesome wife gave me a beautiful new Bar-B-Q.
She insisted on putting it together with my daughter and cooking up an unbelievable meal of Rainbow Trout.

During a 2 hour setup of putting the Bar-B-Q together I placed a small amount of herb in my other "Q" set it at 230C and for 2 hours I kept coming back and taking hits off it. I would only turn the fan on as I took the hit and then turned the fan off.
I held the whip end up to the florescent light to check for vapor and sure enough the Q was still putting out a milky vapor!
I am blown away that vapor was still coming out after so long!


I love this machine. It makes the meds go a lot further. It will pay for itself in the savings alone.

i picked up a "tuff bowl" from arizer and i gotta say im a little disappointed. has anyone else picked one of these up? i was expecting the stuff on the outside to fit tight to the bowl but its just like fat silicon tubing, and its not even cut straight.

is there a way to shrink the stuff on the outside to the glass bowl?

Heat shrink is usually associated with plastics but if it's silicon it may very well be heat resistant as most silicons are.

I would email arizer about it.

im sure it must be heat resistant and im betting theres no way to fix it at all i just didnt think it would be loose around the outside.

yeah i have a tuff bowl and its the same way, kinda dumb, its just a sleeve over a cyclone bowl lol. I do use it when traveling tho because it would help a little if it got dropped. No idea about shrinking it tho

yea i tested it out, it works the same as the other ones, i just wasnt expecting it to be loose.

my new extreme Q came 1 day-the next day a new mattress & a 42''LCD hd TV and a good DVD upgrading player...plays a reg DVD near/close to hd quality...i have a extensive DVD library..its been a good week...in bed...vap'n....watching movies...my heating element gets little black specks where crumbs came thru screen..goes away w/a blow..i had been using balloons and fan at 1st..i was shocked how much more air i moved w/my lungs than the fan when i tried the whip, i see why its called a cyclone bowl while the fan barely fluffs it up instead of when i pull on the whip it cyclones it up into the elbow joint(a little puff in and elbow is empty)..reloads w/next pull...

it has me coughing on cigs-they seem harsh-I've become a vapor pansy, rather I've become smoke intolerant thinking of getting another bowl & whip dedicated to try gettin my nicotine fix w/tobacco vapor & quit smoking cigs...would black & mild vanilla cigarello tobacco be ok to use or get unflavored tobacco any1 doin this?

if they would make the balloon/tubing mouthpieces about 2 1/4'' long smooth then bulb, it would fit all my bongs w/stems..i tried, its a perfect fit just to short to reach into the water...no improvising/rigging it to hit thru water...i may see if i can get 1 made!

did i mention....I'M LOVIN IT!

Read the thread a little. There are several ways mentioned on how to hook it to a bong. Can easily buy more tuning and cut it to whatever length u want.
