Discontinued The Grasshopper

Congrats! Can I suggest you go to @Ratchett's site and look at his leather case. You may want that in place of the ghl leather sleeve.

And I wonder if people who have a gh think one extra battery is enough. What does everyone think is the "magic" number of gh batteries to have?

Lastly, and to add to your list, is an external charger. It seems that most people prefer this to the charger that comes with the gh. At least that way, you'll always have fully charged batteries ready to go.

Ok, I'm done spending your money...

I'm not going to spend $50 bucks on a case until I have it in my hand. As for the extra battery, I just ordered one because why the hell not. Who knows if I'll ever switch it. And if I need more, it looks like those are readily available.

As for the external battery charger, I didn't see one, on either Delta3DStudio or the Grasshopper website. Where would I be able to get one?

Chargers are readily available from Amazon, Ebay, Ecig stores etc. I have a Nitecore D4 which charges 4 batteries simultaneously. Look out for fakes though, there are a lot of fake chargers around so buy from a reputable vendor.

Personally, I have 3 batteries but in reality 2 is plenty as they charge in under an hour anyway.

I'm confused then... On the Grasshopper website it said that only the Grasshopper batteries work in it, but if the chargers are readily available, how are the batteries different from normal batteries?

Excuse my ignorance, none of my vapes use any batteries that are swappable.

Would this work? http://www.amazon.com/Nitecore-Char...F8&qid=1464012495&sr=1-3&keywords=Nitecore+D2

The GH batteries are unique to the Hopper in size, however they are standard Li-Ion technology so can be charged using any multi size charger. Any of the Nitecore www.Nitecore.com chargers will charge the Hopper batteries as well as 18650, 18350, AA, AAA etc

i would recommend X-tar VC2 or VC4 external chargers. because they show voltage and mAh for each battery. even newest VP series don't have that feature, nor have any Nitecore charger. seeing mAh is important so you know when your battery are fading and you can plan to order new one. and ridiculously enough those older Xtar VC series are cheaper than those new VP which doesn't have a mAh meter.

Awesome, I think I'll get one of those then. I'll add it to my wishlist for when they actually ship my GH.

I've been lucky with my vaping life. When I ordered a Cloud, people had been waiting a while, and I ordered it and it shipped pretty quickly. Again, I stumble upon the Grasshopper and potentially have to wait a few months. I don't know how you guys are waiting years* for it. That would seriously bum me out.

That being said, I may be waiting a year. LOL :-)

i did buy all the accessories and shit i wanted for my Hopper 'baby room' while waiting and reading this thread. it kinda helps me waiting. and urges not to cancel my Nov 9 - 2015 pre-order knowing that i have a whole drawer full of all kind of stuff waiting together with me for a Hopper baby to arrive.

actually i'm cool enough to wait. because i'm out of my own grown medicine anywayz. so taking a forced few months of a tolerance break. but when a new harvest of outdoor weed is ready, Jeez... better Hopper be in my hands by then. or i will get very

The Nitecore D series digital chargers do exactly that too for each cell being charged. mAh, time on charge and voltage viewable at all times.

I prefer the Xtar charger over the Nitecore. The display on the Xtar is easier to read and it also has the option of being powered direct from USB, which I think the Nitecore doesn't have unless I'm mistaken.

I have 6 batteries in total between 2 GH one Ti and one S/S (when they arrive)

Will any of these external chargers damage the batteries? I'm a bit disappointed that Hopper labs doesn't have external chargers themselves.

Also - this wait is gonna be killer. I don't know how you guys do it. LMAO! Hopefully the mighty will hold me over. LOL

@newVaper420 No the chargers will not damage the batteries, they will be fine. GH batts are just standard Li-ion chemistry but specially manufactured to fit the GH

I'd go as far as to say that charging externally with a quality charger will most certainly be better for battery longevity too over using the standard GH usb charger continually. My charger has failed incidentally after 2 months and a warranty claim has been submitted.

this. external charger with lot of reputation is even safer for batteries.

for those who have a Hopper in their hands. can someone test if Hopper is making denser clouds while connected to its original charger? i remember someone saying that charge trough is giving more power (if battery is fully charged before doing so) and more clouds when hitting trough a bong at temperature 5. if it is true i will sacrifice one battery for this purpose only. i know that charge trough while vaping is not very healthy thing to do for any battery.

It's a myth, tried and tested long before my charger died. Even at max temp (5) the battery will only drain as low as 3.75v before flashing red for recharge. This is good for safety as the Hopper is not allowing the battery to deplete to dangerous levels and also ensuring no depletion in output as it discharges. It hits consistently right up until recharge indicator and having it tethered to the charger makes no difference whatsoever other than charging whilst vaping.

Milaana. Lana. LANA. LANAAAA! (TM2/TP80/BAK/FW9)
Yeah I got two spares with each Hopper, then they included an extra one free for the delays (as they promised pre orders) so 7 total... Session extender is free, only using it for water as of now, or that glass bent mouthpiece (which btw @ragnorokk was actually made by another member here, I have another cool one from him that's straight and cobalt). Been charging in my nitecore D2 like Zion/Milaana 18650s, we'll see if/when I use the charger, it is much bigger than expected actually, not simple usb really bc of the way it works I guess. I am planning to let two batts sit a while (did a bowl with each so they're not fully charged like they came) and rotate 4 in my SS, Blue Ti is in waiting after one bowl too just because really

yeah. Li-ion batteries are storing better if 80% charged.

EDIT: me like how this Wavy guy reviews vaporizers. that VapeGossip women should watch and learn.
for me the biggest pro that GrassHopper have on FireFly2 is easy bong connectivity. ad it is more savage. looks like FF2 is more like a session vape. while GG is a one hitter.

4+ weeks of daily use now. No issues to report, still kicking ass. Very happy with it.

Beginning to feel more confident in its build quality, but I still am always bracing myself a little in case it fails. Once my pre-order gets here I can let my guard down. Maybe if they both work flawlessly for a few months I will consider selling one.

Good news is I can confirm it works through your nose!
My guess is those who have a problem with the heat of the GH will not want to try this.

Can anyone tell us how many months long the gap was and when it happened?
It was just about a year. Campaign ended in December 2013, invites to pre-order began in December 2014.

Pre-orders have been running since Jan 2015, with early bird orders placed Dec 2014 as an invite/email-in deal for late comers to the campaign (which ran Nov-Dec 2013)
In my opinion, pre-orders started in Dec 2014 but I recall some people feeling that "real" pre-orders started once they were opened up on the hopper site without needing to be invited to order. I was invited to pre-order via email as late as February. Regular pre-ordering wasn't opened by then.

Considering they have the cases, and other stretch goal accessories to produce they probably won't get to doing an external charger for a while. But they did mention they had plans to do so. If you go back far enough you can also find posts where they recommended a certain brand of external charger.

After almost 4 month on heavy duty, my GH had to get back to Hopper Labs. It was burning my herbs. It was often unbearably hot but as a European backer I didn't wanted to ship it as long as it worked. Just have to wait now.
how much did it cost you to send it back? if no secret...

Sent my vape back because it was broken and I can't remember the account i used to order.

How long does support take to answer so I can figure out what's going on with my order?

I wouldnt hold your breath. I sent my warranty support request last Friday and they are yet to even read my ticket.

I will give it until tomorrow and if still the same will contact @VapeFiend.com again as Hopper labs are letting them down with support it would seem.
