Discontinued The RBT Milaana (unregulated single 18650)

Are you crossing FW w FF2? The Firewood 3.0 is price competitive w the Milaana (and the Firefly 2 is priced up a step or two).
Deleted. I swear I'd seen them significantly pricier the last time I looked them up. I don't own any of the pieces that are required for any of the preferred mods either, but the FW does bear more looking into for me. Thank you for pointing that out!

Edit: I don't think the FW is anywhere near as instantaneous as this device, but it certainly has more bells and whistles.

Just so Dab HAppy!
12 new tracking numbers were just generated. So between the 8 last night and the 12 today that makes @Shit Snacks 20 count right on!

Out of 36 trackings that I can see on UPS, 12 have been delivered and 1 of those 12 was not a Milaana but instead my charger and batteries.

As for the 24 that have not delivered yet, they are going to the following states:
Ohio
Arizona
California
Kansas
Washington
Pennsylvania
New Mexico
CO is that Colorado or Connecticut
New Jersey
Texas
Massachusetts

I can only see shipping labels for most of these so don't start sending PM's. Once the package is picked up I can see status and expected delivery date. Only send me a PM with the shipping destination city if you live in one of the following states:
Ohio
Arizona
California
Kansas
Washington

Any news on how the internationals are being shipped? I am on vacation from this Sunday so I'm really stressing that it will arrive while I am ironically in the states!

Thanks, it is helping me fight off the anxiety created from not being able to order an Apollo and not having my Milaana yet. I will keep on the track of letting everyone know what I can find out. If you have already PM'ed me with your city I have written down your user name and city so as soon as I see tracking pop up for your city I will send you a PM. IF you live close to me, don't be surprised if your package never comes, I just have good timing!!!! Just kidding!

Unfortunately I can't see anything for international orders so RBT must not be using UPS for international orders.

There is no "dearth of real info" in the Zion thread.

Am I not entitled to my opinion? Allow me to rephrase: I find there to be a dearth of real, pertinent and useful info in this and the Zion thread, info that would have been instrumental to me in deciding to skip this vape. Pak, you yourself agreed with many of my criticisms yet I do not remember my specific critiques being outlined in this thread. That would have been the useful info I found lacking.

I'll stop contributing now since I've sold my Milaana and have nothing more to add.

Many vapes & accessories. Always happy to help
@nosmoking Nice one! Kinda Mr. Robot style in here :D

A huge selling point for me is the instant on convection factor....which for a portable sized cape is only seen in the Grasshopper or Firefly 2.
Don't forget about the wonderfully smooth and incredibly tasting little black magic box: ESV
And what about the FW3? :)

Glad to hear some 'Laanas have arrived! Can't wait to read and see more from you guys!
Enjoy!
:peace:

That's doing more than UPS could do for me. The MyChoice tracking only works for residential and my campus isn't considered residential, so I'm lost in the dark without any updates, and I'm leaving in a week so I'm pretty fkd at this point, so if you actually managed to figure out when it's getting tracked, I could call and intercept. Could work, haha.

In no way did I indicate that you couldn't express your opinion on the quantity and quality of information. You can certainly have your say, and I can disagree with it, which I did.

As I've already pointed out, you couldn't get that information for the Milaana because there weren't any units out there for people to report on. I haven't had mine that long, but if I had posted my opinions, I am certain that I'd be criticized for pimping something that was vapourware. Yes, I agreed with many of your criticisms, but I also don't feel that any of them are important to me. The merits of the Milaana override all of them. Obviously, you don't agree. As for the Zion, if you still needed information after all that I and several others have posted, all you had to do was ask.

Well i bought the milaana off of classifieds from @Scrimshaw so im pretty pumped to check out this "heater tech" i thought it was a good deal and there arent many in the wild and easy smooth transaction..cant wait to give this manual flameless a go..
I look forward to hearing your review. What portable convection device experience do you have to compare it to? I came to the party with no real "satisfying" portable experience prior to this.

Thanks for the detailed differing thoughts @Scrimshaw, it's interesting to see how everyone views the same device.

I look forward to using it as well..been waiting on a zion for a minute..bren silent in that thread as i feel no need to add to any of as i dont have one and i saw this one in classified and at that price thought it was a joke.kinda like the 400 dollar gh i saw two weeks ago(seriously considered it) glad i didnt but ready for unregulated power..i love that unregated word..its the word most associated with this vape.

The fact that someone doesn't like this vaporizer is no surprise to me. Just the timing of the classified post was a surprise.
Unregulated is not for everyone. And as a matter of fact new vaporists will struggle the most. The fact that it can combust is very important. It has to have that upper end heat so it will work as the battery drains. Some people need that regulated power. To be able to hit a button and just pull. That's cool. I like those vaporizers too. But only when I'm using it with non vaporists. That way my shit won't get all gunked up with that nasty ass combustion taste.
However this mi was designed to hit every possible temp you might be looking for. It's up to the person that's in charge of the button. If your last hit was way too hot then go a little less on the button. As pak said feather it a little more.

I think your missing my question, perhaps a regional thing. It sounds like what you refer to as a pushbike is what I refer to as a pedal bike. Both make sense to me, but I never heard the phrase/term pushbike so I instantly thought of the strider my 3 year old rides. It has one fixed pedal, no chain or anything. You push yourself by running and then you put your feet up on the middle pedal and coast. The funny thing is, when you said pushbike I instantly thought of this past Tuesday when I told the wife our 3 year old son on a pushbike could almost beat his 5 year old brother on a pedal bike around the BMX track we were at. I then chuckled and led on to tell her he would probably be 16 years old still riding a strider and whip everyone's ass on the track because he is fearlessly awesome on the thing and because he's old enough to ride a pedal bike and can but prefers his strider because he is so much faster on it.

As far as a 'real' bike, I think you mean a motorcycle which is often refered to as just a 'bike' but plenty of women ride them so don't sell yourself short. I grew up showing all my friends the trophy my mom earned when she was 18 years old for jumping motorcycles. She still rides a Harley and a Buell.

Sorry for getting so off topic guys, I couldn't resist. And @Vapenvy try to laugh after every line of my post...I type in peace, happiness and a state of well-medicated-being!

Spot on with your interpretations. I'd agree on regional differences for the confusion as i assumed you were making a joke (as were my posts-my unwillingness to use emoticons doesn't help...)
Never heard of a strider, but sounds like what we call a balance bike. Bike around these parts can mean either a pushbike (pedal) or motorbike (motorcycle). I can picture your 3yo at the track. Some kids really fly on those things.

Thanks for everyone's patience as we clear up these regional linguistic dilemmas.

Back on topic. Comparisons to the FW3 sound interesting. It's currently my go to out and about portable so i can hopefully weigh in soon, but i agree it is not instant heat. It takes a few draws to get it gradually up to speed if you want the higher temp stuff.

I was thinking just the other night-whilst sharing an end of night session- how the FW3 was great to pass back and forth between people. Especially non vapers. Easy, no buttons, relatively set temp, and little chance of combustion, and then thought, hmm, probably wouldn't be bringing out my Milaana here. Would have to explain the button thing and have tools for clean up of any mistakes.

Really looking forward to the potential of much faster and easier extraction from the Mi. Hopefully like the instant thick hits i get from the vapor genie.

Edit- @HD Springer were you copying my post as i was writing it? "Sir, he's cheating'"

Sour desiel through the Supreme takes away my anxiety and makes me so happy! Oh shit wrong thread...but since I am here I love being a fortune teller. I get to welcome people to their Mi before they recieve it. It is very gratifying in itself or selfgratifying.

@HD Springer I think you have come down with the flu all of a sudden and must leave work immediately. You probably should take tomorrow off considering flus are contafious for the first 24 hours of medicating.

Shit Snacks

Milaana. Lana. LANA. LANAAAA! (TM2/TP80/BAK/FW9)
Yes he was, and maybe you scared him away with your aggressive answer, so while reading back last evolution I cant not not answer to you. YES YOU ARE BIASED, let make peace with it. In a good way biased because as rbt said: (the very first phrase of this thread):

So you are biased by being kind of god father of milana, you gave him advice while he was growing up, help his father to create it.
You will stand by him against any criticism and because of this you are little help to us. As ss (@Shit Snacks btw, you have a very evil acronyme) remember, between first customers (simple customers) one dislike it one other like it but find vapor hot, was it mentionned by z team before (hot vapor)? I do not remember

Sorry about the acronym, also think Kero was being pretty tongue in cheek but ah written word humor is tricky!

In any event just wanted to say that at the start that was true, but the final product Milaana has almost nothing us Z team members had suggested, he ultimately went and did it all himself as he thought it should be done (with some help from initial tester MrP, then tweak confirmations from me and Krazy).

Also regarding heat, yes vapor is hot, I am a low temp lover though and do okay here, but it's wide open airpath high heat, its gonna be hot and harsh vs the aforementioned Elevape, but it's worlds better than an Air/Solo or imo even a Firefly :2c:

Judging by the PM's, I seem to have made more than one of your heads explode by not liking your precious Milaana. Thanks for your concern, but I am OK!!!

Look, it's a decent vape, it's just not for me. Here's why:
-heater too hot: I have two US patents, and am always intrigued by fellow inventors. RBT's patented heat tech intrigued me by the heat plots I saw (perhaps for Zion). The heat rose asymptotically towards combustion temp quite nicely. If people were vaping successfully on the Zion at 75%, I assumed this would have been tweaked to run at that temp. Nope, it's full blast. It's like having a pocket Nano stuck on 10--I can handle it but is no fun IMO.

-stems: I don't think 18mm stems are a good system. Stuff falls out easily, they are too wide to cook evenly, and stirring inevitably makes a mess. On top of that, the area near the heater is narrower than above so there is more material further from the heater than closer. This practically ensures uneven cooking. The screens are ok, but too much material gets stuck on the sides, whether I use it basket or dome style, same problem occurs. UD stems with installed screens are a much better solution IMO.

-potability: How is this thing truly portable? I just don't get it. The canvas bag is nice, but not a solution for carrying glass stems. There's no lock on the device, so you'd have to take the battery out every time. In practice, it just doesn't seem like a viable portable option.

-instructions: WTF, seriously—no instructions?!? RBT has excommunicated FC for some reason, but then we're supposed to come here to learn how to use the device? That seems totally arrogant to me. And to be told when I am looking for tips that I should read a 60+ page thread just seems a little tone deaf.

-company: I wasn't contacted prior to shipment, or at all for that matter. I don't need hand-holding, but I think a 5-year old running a lemonade stand knows more about pleasing customers.

Lastly, I'd just like to say how I resent people putting words in my mouth here and on reddit implying that I hardly used this thing or that I don't know how to use vapes. This is why people get turned off FC, or criticize these threads for being biased. This and the Zion thread are so ridiculous with such a dearth of real info, it's no wonder reddit thinks it's a joke. And the cult references are just awful—having lost a childhood friend to a religious cult I can't find any humor there, sorry.

I like to think of myself as equidistant between the FC fanboys and the reddit skeptics. Putting words into my mouth just makes me less likely to share my experiences. I have owned PD, Iolite, UD, Nano, Herbalizer, FW and others, so it's not for lack of experience, I just didn't like the Milaana. Deal with it.

First let me apologize if you feel I am guilty of said misrepresentation, just sharing my own impressions based on what you shared, sorry if I was out of line.

Regarding hot heater, I did tell him to make it hotter, perhaps you wouldve liked my beta better... But the key to that control is battery level, again bc Zion is regulated and this is not, the hotter starting temp at a full charge allows aforementioned concentrates (which can be done lower too with preheats I'm sure) and less preheat when the battery is weaker, overall just faster to get to that max set "temp"

Wih you on the stems, 18mm not perfect for a secure stem (if only he kept the old stem lock feature) but the pros outweigh the cons in my experience. And totally different on the screens, I found then far better and less cloggy than UD stems. The way you grind and pack is also a huge factor here.

Portability, that too had been addressed with all the separate parts, I have been finding fairly easy to pocket with the battery in place even, in loose pants or hoodie pockets. I just put a stem loose in another pocket (would like a case though, if only I had a shorty stem that could fit in the battey case...) with containers for herb and avb and a toothpick. Not as convenient as a GH seems though so looking forward to that still too! (Someday...)

And finally yeah can't comment on the company procedures and lack of instructions, I know he was anxious to get these things out maybe more than anyone else, so he just went full on surprise and unprepared... Debatable if he should've waited and taken the time to do a proper launch, none of this seems to have gone as expected, but imo there is a ton of quality info in the threads, unfortunately just a lot of crap too.

We could have been better, so sorry there too, no one asked for a pros and cons list somehow...

Anyway wishing you luck on the next purchase, and seriously sorry again dude, did not mean anything against you, just sharing my own perspectives. It is important to have yours as well, so thank you for sharing despite everything.

@Shit Snacks I seem to recall some verbal instructions for modulation to create low medium and high settings... I think high was 3sec on, 1 sec off, repeat? Do you remember anything about the suggested modulation for temps?

I'm presently just dabbing with mine, which is pretty much just press and hold ;)

Ah yes, its somewhere in here, don't remember where... In any case I'm not sure that will even make it in to the eventual instructions, but my bottom line takeaway would be just don't hold the button too long, let go and use the residual heat (especially on a fresh battery)

Hey guys, my label was printed and going out soon!

Bought a daisy and vapcap too. Its going to be an eventful couple of weeks. I'm fucking stoked!

My only suggestion is to keep rotating all three. But chances are, one will really hit home and will hog a lot of the early love... Just my observations after having many times purchased multiple vapes in a short time. Sometimes one gets overlooked for a while, but i always make my way back. Have fun.

Lmao...I was good at geography so I thought...the dude shall find himself on a journey to bliss with his new hot mistress tomorrow!

@nondarb I must say your fortune is not as good as the dudes, however I believe you will find the satisfaction you are looking for this Wednesday

Well I'm pretty good about cycling my babies thus far, but sometimes I do fall into a kick. I've pretty much eliminated electricity from my routine, your own an @Shit Snacks high praise and butane experience as well as comparisons influenced my decision greatly when it comes to the mi (daisy too!).

I'll work to keep it nice and fair ;), its an interesting problem to have. The Pipes 510 Project has satiated my VAS pretty well, Mi's in for some competition! Excited to have them side by side.

In all fairness the Dudes been going on about his "concert vape" for ages, I'm glad he's finally getting it! Appreciate the updates man.

Just wanted to thank you for coming on and giving your honest opinion of the vape and how the whole deal went for you. Great of you to come on and give your honest opinion, and sorry to see you had to take flack for it. Awesome of you to put it out there for a reasonable price since you didn't want it.

No Oregon on the list. Did 24 of you really order before September? It shouldn't really matter to me if I have to wait a while because I'm pretty consumed with learning my CFX. And the Zion is the one I really want from RBT. In spite of that it's hard to wait now that shipping has started,
