@osolx26, not talking about a spring for battery contact. They are talking about the internals of the back end assembly, the click on/off resistance you can feel.

See post #721 for reference.

The ONLY reason that the back-end will get hot is because of connection issue. There is absolutely no other reason. There is no circuits there just the switch components. And if that is the case I cannot see why GHL cannot solve this issue.
The backend also contains the heat dial, which is (correct me if I'm wrong) a potentiometer for voltage... Meaning a lot of current IS handled by the backed.
My unit is working well, and my backend DOES get warm when used on 3... Warmer on 4 & 5. Never "too hot to touch."

And side note: I found video footage from 2014 inside HL!

If you push on the part that supposedly makes contact with the battery nothing happens. If there were a spring there, wouldn't it go back a bit? Maybe they started putting springs now but mine sure as hell does not has a spring.

Could be...you have had your's for 5 months...

The original question that everyone is answering was regarding battery contact.

Unfortunately I do not have a GH to look at myself.
- Can someone tell me if the backend has a spring or floating connector that connects to the battery?

See? There is no spring connecting the backend to the battery. If your grasshopper has a spring underneath the backend, similar to what you'd see in, say, your TV's remote, please post that picture. Mine most definitely does not.

My GH has been running well for a few months now. The backend (this one is number 4), several months old is running waaayyy too hot... They had sent me a replacement, but it didn't work (problems with the threading). I returned, and have been waiting a month for the new replacement (that'd be number 6).

That said, even with the heating back end, it is used all day long, daily. I'm just careful holding it. It is without a doubt the best thing I could possibly have to replace the "one hitter" I was combusting with. I also haven't used the charger cable (except when in the car). Not sure if that has any bearing, but I do notice it's gets warm when charging from their cable.

As for spring loaded, the brass part of the clicker that makes contact with the battery would appear to have a spring under it. When I press on it, it depresses into the clicker end, and comes back when I release the pressure.

Mine most definitely has a spring behind the contact. It is totally obvious when you push hard on it.
I'm not going to bother with a picture because it is inside of the backend where you can't see it.
And I'm not going to make a video, cause why the fuck would I?

(Edit- just like the post before me is talking about. And to be clear, it's not part of the clicker mechanism, it is the batter contact itself)

When did you get yours? I push on mine and...nope...nothing.

Two weeks ago today. (And it kept working for about the first ten days, details a couple of pages back.)

If you were to pack around a .1-.15 could you toss the GH on a lower temp and get a solid 10 rips out of it with average vapor and not just flavor alone?

Jack of all trades, master of none.
A log would be closer to the Hopper they can be left on 24/7, If your set on bag vapes don't forget the Super surfer. The bag vapes have limited use if your into the freshest vapors, And the Super is the only top shelf bag vape that can also do whips.
Not to derail the thread but I couldn't let this go.....

The Herbalizer has a whip option as well. Carry on.....

Maybe closer to 8. .15 is the max my GH can fit, and it doesn't have good airflow so the middle is darker, etc. I go between 2 or 4 Arizer Air stock stem loads in the GH, and get at least 3 good hits on each temp. If I hit if for like 30 seconds or more in one hit then that wont be the case, but usually I'm not doing that :p

@Ratchett If you do make a Crafty CU/GH adaptor, would you consider making it so that it orients the CU more vertically... So that the CU and GH are parallel rather than perpendicular? I think that'd be more comfortable.
It's a shame Hopper Labs can't come up with a similar CU design and incorporate it directly into their mouthpiece. It really does work well.

This. Like an elbow adapter. That would rock for catching some reclaim before it gets into the CU too!
Great idea!!

If you guys are after a portable session vape (e.g. Finish in one sitting), I can't recommend the crafty/Mighty enough. Honestly my favourite vapes right now. Powerful, efficient and super smooth Vapor.
If you don't need the small size, go with the mighty.
I don't bother with any of my other vapes these days...
But when the GH comes that will be a different story lol.

I share this sentiment. Got a Mighty just to scratch an itch while I wait for GH and fell completely in love with it. Still excited to receive my GH some day!

Don't know if it's been said: you can use the clicker as a smartphone stylus. That GH is so surprising.
What kind of phone do you use? I tried my iPad and Lumia 950 ... Neither responded to the hopper topper.

It worked on my Xperia z ultra and on my wife's Samsung s5 mini. I was not surprised about the Sony. But I didn't expect the samsung to respond.

Smartphones are touch sensitive. You can't use them with gloves. That's what cool with that GH feature.

The body of the GH has an unintended feature that it can be used to control a touchscreen, like a finger.
the silicon works excellent the with the smartphone screen!! I'm sure that you figured it out when you needed your phone with gloves on and the GH as well?? :haw::freak:
