But can we find out what updates were made in version 2.9 and 2.10?Only by sending in to S&B. Usually, they will just send a replacement unit.
Historically, they have not advised what exactly was changed between each update, with the exception of the noticeable changes like the plastic reinforcement around the bowl and faster power button response. But can we find out what updates were made in version 2.9 and 2.10?
I didn't do any burn off on mine. Make sure you have a full charge and download the app (especially if you want to adjust the temps). I suggest using a grinder...not too fine.So I just received my new Crafty. Firmware 2.08. Any advice for a new unit? Any need to break it in, or just load up and vape away?

Personally, I never fill the oven but that's a personal choice. If you don't fill it, use the pad as a spacer. Or you can take a conventional screen, cut out a wedge (so it looks like pacman) and use that (my preference). And enjoy!
I think you're better off putting in just what you'll use at the time. Then put liquid pad or secondary screen on top of load so it doesn't swirl around in there. But, right, not too fine, and not tightly packed. Thanks for the pointers! I actually went ahead and used the Crafty before reading this in the end. I'd already downloaded the app and given the battery a charge (it arrived 5/6ths full already), my mistake was grinding my herb in the same way as I did with my previous vape (MFLB). I filled the crafty bowl to the top with some seriously fine powder. Needless to say this ended up in the cooling unit as well as my mouth! No bother, I've since given it all a clean out and will know to use a much coarser grind in the future.
Moving on, what temps do people here tend to vape at with the Crafty? I know this is hugely subjective and entirely down to personal preference but the thing I love about my MFLB is that I can gently sip at it at low temperatures, set it down while I hold my hit in, and then pick it up 10minutes later knowing that the herb hasn't been cooking away. I know a Crafty isn't the right sort of vape for this exact usage, but does it sound like a bad idea (for both the Crafty's health and conserving herb) to power on, take a couple of hits once up to temp, then turn off to go back to later?
I'm sure I read somewhere that vapour only really forms with airflow? If the bowl sits at temperature for a few minutes am I wasting any/much herb?
Hope that all makes sense
the Crafty uses two heaters. A conducton heater near the bowl brings things up to warm, so the convection heater can kick butt when you draw and pass hot air thru
first page of the product description for Crafty and Mighty on S&B site, and those say that Plenty has this also. Man, I read all this shit twice before plunking down the $400. Well, maybe not the warranty agreement...Really? How do you know this? I just assumed that it was a convection vaporizer, with a single heater, but that it had some conduction from the metal ring, just by physics, not an actual 2nd heater. Is this in the manual or something?
Don't forget that generally speaking it will be the people with negative experiences who will post, this is the same for every product, whether you are looking for a vape or a second hand car. Before I buy any product I always research first on the internet and I have never found a single product that did not have some negative reactions. Also the more people who buy a product the more problems there will be.Hello,
I've been lurking around this forum, looking for a quality portable vape. Crafty has been a potential candidate, but all the reported problems just don't spell out quality.
The warranty reset rumor got my interest and wrote to S&B. I wrote to S&B, and they told me that they don't reset the warranty.
So, no warranty reset. As I see from this forum, no actual meaningful upgrades have taken place. Maybe the toughened plastic housing being the only thing?
Anyway, to me, S&B seems like a typical case when a good company goes bad, since they don't have to sell quality any longer and they have enough hype revolving around them to sell.
If they want serious buyers, then they should at least start to write down the well known flaws and report about the solutions that they find with fixing those flaws.
I would be ready to take the leap of faith and be ready to send my unit for replacement in every 3 months, but if they themselves don't have faith in their product, then I'm out. And if they won't reset the warranty for replaced units, then they clearly don't have faith in their product.
Any recommendations for alternatives? Would be best if the model would have EU warranty support.
You are correct. Sorry. It doesn't say that there are two heaters. Pretty sure there is only one, and the conduction occurs due to that very same heater. I thought perhaps you had taken one apart and inspected.
It works perfectly
Anyway I have had my Crafty for a few months, now at 28 hours running 2.08. The only "issue" I have is that the vibration feature doesn't always work.
I have used a lot of vapes over the past few years and the Crafty is the best (for dry herb) I have used up until now. The Arizer products are also excellent (Solo and Air) but I have also had to send one of them back. The MiniVap is also great but I have sent that one back once too.
Your Crafty is pretty new still, I would plan on shipping it back at some point. Arizer's reliability is no comparison to the Crafty.
Sweet.First post as a member.
Been looking for a vaporizer and finally settled with the Crafty, two words very happy.
Purchased in Oz so battery covered plus an extra 1 year warranty with credit card provider.
First vape tested was the volcano and this is on par if not better.
Hope this helps someone
P.S. Anyone know if they are open between christmas and new year in Germany?
My v2.08 seems to be dying fast.
Now at 71 hours.
Vibration only sometimes works
Heat up time to 180c over ambient now takes 2:55 and I'm only getting 2 sessions per charge now.
