You have a Lifetime warranty. I would request another unit and ask for ask for a shipping label so I could send the faulty unit back to the company. I would think sooner the better.

You didn't go over it so it needs to be asked - have you cleaned it in any way? I'm not doubting that you have, I just want to make sure.

I agree with CarolKing, it's worth e-mailling support or Trevor.

I've cleaned it. Iso mouthpiece and then Iso swab in chamber. Carefully.

Why do u ask?

Some vapes need to be cleaned on a regular basis for best performance. Those vapes that need regular TLC in the cleaning deparment can see a drastic change in performance if you do not keep up with a regular cleaning schedule. Thats why the cleaning question would have crossed my mind. The GH however has been reported to be very forgiving with a cleaning schedule so it maybe something else causing the drop in performance . Could be battery a issue maybe? I wont dare insult anyone on FC and even think to mention or dare ask if material is the issue.:rofl:

When I got my GH I had the same problem. When there was no more vapor at temperature setting 5, the ABV was still vapable in other vapes. It got stuck in the chamber and I got only very light vapor from it. With the new back end, it's a totaly different unit. ABV is dark brown and easily falls out the chamber. I can get a big cloud with the first draw. I would write them and ask for a replacement.

I've been looking for an update from GHL. I haven't seen one yet, maybe they're busy with other problems. An update probably is the least of their problems. Maybe later in the day.

With regards to the lighting, I am worried about a hot unit regardless of where the heated vapor path is. It looks like the light shares the air intake holes. How do you guys feel about intake air going over potentially hot electronics.
Also, the whole brass heater thing makes me hesitate.

Well this looks like a nice little toy. It seems like every time I look there is a new vaporizer out there; it's becoming hard to decide. I want a grasshopper, but this Zion looks nice too. The shape of the Grasshopper is real cool, but not a requirement for me. The glass vapor path on the Zion is appealing too. I need to to a little more looking, but this one seems like it could contend with the Grasshopper for first place while the Crafty and Prima fight over second place.
I've been lurking the Prima board and I just glossed over the Zion board and so far they seem worth it. What are your complaints? Aside from air quality (separate from vapor quality), on demand heat is my only real desire.
I'm not knocking the Grasshopper either, but there's too much uncertain about it for me. After my whole firefly debacle, I am a little more cautious about a new vaporizer.

This was covered before - the LED is sealed behind a piece of glass. The airpath is sealed from the electronics and lighting.

Where did you see brass mentioned? So far details are extremely limited regarding the heater. All we know for certain is that it's a 3D printed heater. The technology or specific material used hasn't been mentioned as far as I recall

Thanks for the reply on the lighting. I found info on the air path once but lost it and was unable to find it again.

I can't find the page about the brass heater either, but I'm sure it was buried in one of the middle few pages of this thread. There was a big discussion over the quality of new brass and whatnot. I've been reading a lot of cross discussion on other vaporizer threads, so it could have been in one of those.

Can't take credit for that video, just found it online and posted it here as it's the first time I've seen someone mention the 'click it off mid draw' and actually show the results.

Re: 3.7v batteries being 4.2v, 3.7v is the nominal voltage, the 4.2v is the open circuit voltage and a normal charge range for a 3.7v battery. Fully charged cells are generally 4.15-4.2v range, I personally don't really like to get them past 4.2v, and the charger I use goes from red to yellow when it reaches 4.1v, and to green at 4.2 so I try to pull them at 4.1v.

I've been thinking a lot about how the Grasshopper can get hot to the touch when attempting to use it as a session vape and I've thought of an elegant solution.

Why not have a wood-turned sleeve for the grasshopper? The same kind of wood turning used for things like Ed's TNT or Alan's custom log vape stems could be used to make a beautiful wooden sleeve to fit over the grasshopper. Which would then help dissipate heat, the same way the wood on a log vape functions. You could have the sleeve also cover the mouthpiece or have a separate mouthpiece cover as well, to replace the silicone tip which apparently gets discolored over time.

It would add a bit of bulk to the unit, but not much, and it would be removeable of course.

Just got my VG liquid pad to stuff in my Hopper. Currently testing with eLiquids but its working amazingly well and I am sure I won't be using rayon anymore.

Just got some oil to test with. It works quite well. Needs some preheating but definitely works.

Nice, that answers the question of whether the hopper would mind having something electrically conductive in its oven.

Wood is an insulator. The same property that would keep the outside cool would keep the inside hotter. This would lead to the hopper overheating and flashing red & blue lights sooner. It might not be a problem for shortish high-temp usage, acting in the same role as the silicone mouth guard, but I'm not so sure it would work out for trying to make the hopper more 'sessionable'.
