Anyone notice 'xylitol' or some dentist involed taste sometimes when the base is reaching the end? :D Or is it just my herb lol..

Hey Fellow Mighty Lovers,
Have my baby for 2 weeks now (upgraded from Crafty - thanks S&B). I'm getting a "flittering" of the LCD screen. Sometimes just one batter bar, once the entire screen, sometimes a few bars and numbers flittering around. Seems to have no affect on performance. I'm ridiculously careful with it, and it doesn't leave that house, so it's been handled with care, to say the least. Is this an issue, or just another excuse to get a new one when a better version comes out :) , or is this the beginning of a serious issue? Any quick fixes for it, or any others with same issue, how have you dealt with it?
Thanks All,
M

- about heat radiating from the unit, a firefighter's perspective
I was a captain and firefighter for the FDNY for decades. As far as how hot the Mighty gets on the outside, and what risk I consider it. It gets hot, but fully assembled, I don't believe it to be a fire hazard, or hot enough to even burn skin. That being said, burns are time and pressure dependent. In other words, the pressure of an iron causes much more heat transfer than no "pressing". Also, time dependent is an obvious (to all vaporists). If it sits on bare belly, I guess it does have the capacity of a low grade burn (think sun burn).

The oven, exposed, is different story. It can burn you, especially if cleaning while hot with a small alcohol swab. You've got pressure, time, and heat, your finger tips will burn. Not sure about the health ramifications of cleaning with a slightly moistened q-tip, but it is safer.

I'll get in there when it's hot, hear the sizzle, scrub a bit, I'd rather scortch the q-tip than my finger. The ring of the oven is hot as well. Avoid direct contact when hot.

Overall, the auto shutoff will prevent an actual fire. Not enough heat can radiate or conduct to start any hydrocarbons burning at the temps most vaps work at. The Mighty's shell keeps it contained pretty good.

I'm not sensitive to heat at all, so it seems that wouldn't be much of an issue for me. Also, 6-7 bowls sounds really good to me as far as battery life goes. I typically go thru bowls fast, so I could possibly get more. I'm strongly considering the mighty as a portable when my budget allows it. I've actually never had a portable before, but I want one now because I'm trying to vape exclusively. I'm considering the mighty, vapium summit, and goboof alfa. Thanks for the responses to my questions!

The mighty is my first portable too. But it acts like a desk top. It's really a hard act to follow for other portables.

If you like fast bowls start at 380F or higher, if you like sipping and flavor start at 350F. It does fine grinds quickly, and you can slow roast buds for savoring. It really does it all, but it is expensive, yes. In my case, I justify the price by how much I'll save in efficiency. Fuzzy math but it works for me, lol.

The Mighty looks like a beast based on some of the videos I've seen. I have only used two portables: the Pax and the Arizer Solo. I was pretty underwhelmed by both to say the least. They just can't hit like I need a vape to hit. I wish I could try a Mighty before dropping so much money, though. Unfortunately my LHS doesn't allow me to do that.

I am confident enough to say that you will forget about the cost once you take a draw from the Mighty... This thing is amazing!!!

The Mighty gets me higher then anything else, all the time. Kind of past the honeymoon phase, I'm not smashing it all day. But at night before bed it fries me. Weekends, wake and bake, fries me.

It really works well with concentrates imo, + weed. I can get tastey clouds for days and almost reach levels of TOO high lol

I get what your saying, I think all of us do, but assorted issues aside for a moment (I've had 0), this thing hits like no other vape I have ever used. Must point out I've not used either of the 2 you mentioned though. I've used MFLB, Ascent, Indica, FM V8, and a Storm and the Mighty is just a different animal. Every cumbuster I've shared it with has been "wowed", every single one.

Like Eric Stoltz told Travolta in Pulp Fiction, once you try the mighty, you'll know where that extra money went

I may have paraphrased that a bit but you get the idea

As to the temp, fully assembled and in use I don't find it that hot. I spend a lot of the time using it by cupping the cu in my hand with the body against the underside of my forearm for stealth. No issues with that so far.

I own both those other vapes and I enjoy ALL 3! But if it's hits your looking for...
the Mighty will knock you out! There is a slim chance that it won't impress you...but I doubt it, because your HERE!

Take the dive, the water is fine! If you hate the mighty, I'm sure the classifieds would yield you a pretty penny

HELP Mighty brothers and sisters.

I am freaked about my Mighty (only two weeks old) and LED is going crazy! Is this a serious issue, I already emailed S&B on it this am. Can you call those guys over the weekend? And, any suggestions on how to reset, or use with only a partially functioning LED.

Vapor production still great, but can't tell temps well (bars missing), charge indicator is kind of intermittent, flashing on and off, but never really on.

I have to admit, I sent the Crafty back because of overheating and weak battery situation. I though the Mighty was a tank, but he LED is a weakness it seems...

Sounds like you got a bad unit. I'd leave it on the one temperature and not change it until I got it replaced if mine was doing that.
I set it at 180F and I'll work around. The display is interment, works, doesn't work. Always looks a bit "funky" not fully lit. I freakin hate this because it's performing like a superstar. I want 2, so I can always have one at the ready. That's how good this animal works - especially if you dry out and finely grind. M-heaven. Please don't be broken.

You're a bit unlucky there mate, personally I'd bite the bullet and send it back. The extra accessories will help dull the pain :)

Send it in to S&B. I had the same problem. Emailed them, they sent me a shipping label and I just got a full on, brand new unit from them yesterday. Took about a week and a half in total to turn it around.

It's a nice unit but too bad the QC seems so lacking. At least they take care of you when it breaks but I only had mine for a month before the screen went out.

I plan on sending it back in, my biggest issue is the way it works, and how my back-up (Plenty and Elevape Smart) are hard for me to use (not sure why, but just can't get the affect I get with Mighty (clouds, effect, taste, high). Elevape always tastes burnt somehowh, and Plenty seems to rip through my stuff, without nearly the cloud or affect of the Mighty. It seems like a hog, wish I could get that to work efficiently. My point is, I'll be virtually vapeless if I send in, but I know I have to ASAP (already emailed them, plan on call in the am)

I need a good back up FAST !

Some like the crafty, I prefer the pax! (For a back up) I Haven't been desperately missing the mighty since it's been gone either

don't get me wrong, the mighty is still my number one...but I do enjoy other vapes too.

yes i scrape it with a small tool and wipe it to the paper, then a little freeze:) wish i had a better tool to do that - i am using a tool from manicure set
I personally do the iso reclaim, but I am shifting to the scraping...the thing I like most about the iso clean is that everything gets like new, with no stickiness. But the scraping method is good for solvent free dabs

WakeAndVape - i do iso wash time to time too but i find scraped oil much better than iso reclaim. I scrape some clear oil and wipe it out every evening and once a week i wash cooling unit in iso because of the cleanliness.

Anyone got an idea of what happens when all of the issues that crop up on every page happen out of warranty? Like the LCD or battery? Will they demand a high cost to repair? Refuse to repair or maybe just give a offer around 50% off a new one?

I am still concerned because of the high price, But this is Enrico's personal on the road vape which still makes me want one during July. Enrico praised this device and said he uses Sub at home and Mighty on the road. I have my heart set on that being me by the end of 2015!

Hi all

solo user here. converted my mate to vaping and he is looking at this bad boy and the firefly. the good is obvious with the adjustability, portability and cloudage. what about the negative stuff? i know warranty si cast iron and the the highly technical nature means plenty of things to go wrong but how do these translate to real world experience?

any help is appreciated chaps

Do you use a plastic scraping tool? I'd be too worried about plastic contamination to use metal.

After 2 years of use I'd happily buy a new unit. Hopefully they will have a complete redesign by then that won't have to be sent back in for replacement every two months.
