Yeah I noticed that too. All of the water test videos have more water than they should. And a lot of the videos could have had better lighting but I talked to him about both issues so hopefully they will be fixed in future videos.

Don't forget once you receive your order and everything checks out okay to find the order in your account and click "Complete Order" so the seller gets paid. Not sure how long it stays in limbo if you forget.

Up until last night when I last checked my tracking still showed CHENGDU. Overnight the NY, regonal and local PO tracking showed up and my FC-187 is out for delivery!!!

Sadly I have to go work, but I'll be back this evening to try it out.

Mine is also out for delivery, sat in NY for 6 days.

Like most others, it looks like they are only scanning the packages once they get to there final destination's Local USPS. I'm guessing to save time for the holiday rush.

My FC-187 tracking updated from the main hub in my town on December 24th, departed for my local PO. Then this morning it updated to "Cleared ICS" 3 states away. It updated the scheduled delivery for Saturday. Then it was delivered this morning!

Build quality is sufficient for the price. It was packed in about 2 layers of bubble wrap inside a box. That box was then inserted into another box and several strips of broken Styrofoam were used to keep the box from shifting around. Slightly impressed it survived the journey. Mine smelled like all the rest of the glass I usually buy from China. Like normal procedure, I perform several short PBW rinses followed by a 91% ISO shake followed by some more hot water rinses.

The mouthpiece is comfortable. But I must say the perc isn't that great - mine has at least 1 chip on it, and the cuts are very inconsistent. This is my first birdcage perc like this. It has more cuts than the D020-w, and seems to fire a bit smoother than my D020-W. Regarding splashback. My perc is mounted approximately 0.5 inches above the base. I have no problem with water levels. Only on my hardest rips could I *possibly* get some water far enough up the mouthpiece to my lips.

I feel like the mouthpiece is rotated a bit too high - I really can't see the whole can from this angle. Just being nit-picky here - if I wanted full control over the design, I would (and probably will) hire an American blower to make me a custom piece

Personally, I'm glad I only bought one to start. I'll be watching to see how this piece and the other concept glass pieces evolve over time.

They both arrived all in once piece, the packaging was good but not the best but they're safe.

My first impression is the both are noticably different but the function with just water seem to be close. Besides the shape of the percs being different so were the placement of the bands inside the perc. The one on the right was too low and at some spots has no opening for bubbles. The GB-187 has a much cleaner perc. But if that just means less diffusion I honestly don't care because less diffusion is better taste, am I wrong?

All in all though they are still very much worth the price. They function well and the sidecar is great!

How are your perc's firing? I really feel like my FC-187 is only firing on one side where the slits are larger..... Kinda defeats the purpose of a matrix perc

Actually not too happy with the perc on my piece, still debating what I want to do.

Regarding size, this thing is a beast. Slightly larger than both of my GB-187's.

After a quick water test, I'm looking forward to using this piece. It is less "chuggy" than my GB-187's. I think I got lucky on my perc, it seems to fire very well and evenly.

Would I buy again or recommend? Absolutely.

My d020-d came from SSS. Its awesome except 29mm downstem is a tad wiggly.. Anyone ever receieved one thats not? Also waiting for my other 3 piecird from him. 2 of the mobius matrix knockoffs. Still in pre shipment aka china while other made it... Worrys me

Are you sure it's the D020D? I've got a D022 with the 29mm downstem, it wiggles bit when I clear it sometimes, otherwise it stays put.

Got this one from CCG on a gamble a while back. Strange mouthpiece angle, but vortexes unbelievably well and has become my daily dab driver. Just had to put in my 2 cents...

Regarding the FC-187, not sure if this is going to replace my GB's. Like my other sidecars, craning my neck to use it is a bit annoying.

Another thing I realized after breaking it in is that I don't care for the mouthpiece. It is not possible for me to get a 100% seal, hence I get a whistling noise/loss of suction during use. Can someone else test this? Just put your thumb over the joint (thanks @flotntoke for that trick) and listen. I am rocking a pretty epic beard that may interfere with the seal, but none of my other pieces have this problem.

More testing to follow. And if you like sidecars, don't take me too seriously. I'm not a huge fan of the design by default.

Edited to add: Yep, the FC mouthpiece has a larger Outside Diameter as well as being more shallow. You have to purse your lips in an extreme manner to get this working. I'll see if I can get used to it, but the lack of 100% seal may be a deal breaker for me. I have weak-ish lungs and all that fun stuff.

You can really feel the difference in weight. This thing has a bigger chamber than even the WP-010. It dwarfs the D-002-D.

Functionally this thing rocks. Hopefully Steven can offer a GB- type MP version too. My matrix/birdcage perc looks pretty good, I'll try and snap a few images.

My FC-187 arrived. Sadly the mouthpiece tube is broken off. There are other issues but they are obviously moot...

@blankrider is there anything you would like us to do differently with Steven on problems, or should I just handle it normally. I would assume not but I wanted to check before proceeding...

Good news for me is the MP's bore is pretty big and fits my silicone wine stopper, so I can use it with a whip, .

Last test I'm going to run is coating it in dish soap for any errant cracks/defects. This will have to wait until I'm sober, so probably tomorrow.

Funny that you mentioned a whip, I was just researching this. I'm going to make this guy into a futuristic hookah at this point. Too nice of a piece to gift away, but I have 5 or 6 others I'd use first after my initial impressions.

Other than the mouthpiece, it's a great bubbler, so hopefully I am the only one with problems.

Whip bubblers are great, I've been using this one for a little and so far it's perfect for reading/computer sitting, plus watching it fill up is just plain fun. I tried the whip in my D020 as well, with a little bit of tape to keep it in place that worked pretty well too.
