Cheap High Quality Bubbler

I actually had my first piece from Sunshine store that I wasn't extremely happy with, the D020-D.

I don't care about scratches and cosmetic stuff at all, but this piece has a chip in one of the slits that's large enough to cause only that perc to fire. I thought about it for a bit and decided it wasn't worth it to contact sunshine about it or file a claim, and I am a little disappointed but as ataxian pointed out we're buying cheap glass from China.

I'd suggest you make them aware of it and see what they do to rectify it. Maybe if you're able to take a picture of it for them they'll send you another one if you destroy your bad bubbler, the way you would with MFLB, for example

Always worth saying something if you feel unhappy. This is a product that you paid for, does not matter that it is "lesser quality" than the US glass or whatever. It may be easier to live with, but a big chip in the slit or similar that affects performance and aesthetics drastically is worth saying something.

It may be inexpensive and or cheap glass from China, but remember you are a customer and you paid for a product. Sure it is easier and less painful because it was a few bucks but shit you go about it like that a few times and you're looking at an accumulation of lost money and all that time wasted waiting.:2c::peace:

I think DH realizes it's got a good thing going with us FC customers and should bend over backwards to keep our members happy. Customer service can tell you a lot about a company, and whether you want to do business with them

Hey if I got a defected piece I would give them hell!

I recieved 5 pieces so far and they all work amazing.

2 are on the way.
I hope my luck hasn't run out?

I believe if you took a picture of the defect they would send you the same one in perfect order.

I feel you brother!

OK disagree with me, I can't force you to be right

Some of us remember that in the years after WWII Japan produced tons of low cost mostly crappy products. The phrase "Made in Japan" was often used to describe cheap shoddy merchandise. And look at them now.

Isn't there an old Chinese proverb about getting what you wish for? Remember quality and cost often go hand and hand so you can probably expect that this inexpensive glass wave we are riding may not last as long as we'd hope.

I think the question of whether to accept a defect on a $30 bubbler from China comes down to how much you value your time. Most of the people who have reported complaints or issues in the past to DHGate or AliEx vendors have been asked to ship the item in question back to China. Personally, it's not worth $30 to me to mess with all that (filling out customs forms alone makes me want to cry), especially since I'm not positive I'd be reimbursed the cost of shipping. If the issues are merely cosmetic (such as the hairline crack my own D020-D has), it's very easy to live with, IMO.

My general sentiment is that if I care about quality, I'm going to pay for it. If I care more about getting a good deal, I have to accept that I'm almost certainly sacrificing quality. The reason I've refused to pay more than about $32 for any piece of China glass so far is because I know that if I get a piece and it sucks, I'm probably not going to want to deal with trying to make it right. $30 is my threshold for "sucks, but won't break my heart (or wallet)".

But that's just me. YMMV.

FYI
Last month in the throes of GAS, (but feeling guilt as to having purchased several pieces already) I purchased this little guy (http://www.dhgate.com/product/new-4...r/183729594.html#myaccount_orderdetail-1-null) from Kathy. Not very expensive and got me over the hump.
Point is that was a month ago and its still listed as in the sorting center in China. emails to Kathy have produced a string of excuses and finally the statement that all pieces were now in the USA. However no source of tracking agrees with her. So this last round of emails I just asked her to refund my money. We'll see.
I had been avoiding ordering from her (although I had success in the past) as others had been having problems, but the GAS was bad and this was a cheap "fix".
Oh well

Just so ya know...that's 10 of the d's in the pic. Its interesting seeing the slight variations when they are all lined up.

Whole new level!!!!! Any designs in mind yet? I should have sent you my 186!!!

I have a few ideas in mind, we'll see what pans out. Its been awhile since I've done any etching so this could be a disaster.

What about cannabis?

Like a cannabis leaf? That would be possible I think.

Make one with the chemical compound of THC on the glass, I'll buy that:

Edit -

Just checked my USPS tracking for my AC and Helix mouthpiece - they're in New York as of this morning. I'll have it within 7 days of ordering!

I think you might be the first to get the 189... look forward to reviews. BTW... I am attempting to promt a refund from Kathy since they posted a different recycler in place of the one I paid for...and the fishy sending you 2 in its place has me feeling uneasy. Also the tracking # is a noshow on the USPS site. Good news is my 187 has at leas shown that its made it to the Shenzhen sort facility :D

@jambandphan03 Actually one of Kathy's tricks is that the fake tracking number she issues will show that your package has been sent and it is usually at or has just left a sort facility. This is her scam. She is buying time in an attempt to get the product and then resell it to you. I advise cancelling asap. One thing about her is that once you call her out she should refund you quite quickly. In my experience when one gets fucked by an Aliexpress or Dhgate vendor you should eventually get your money back. It is the time and energy that can never be refunded. Not to mention that is not a very cool thing to do to someone suffering from GAS!

I ordered this thinking @Vitolo was going to get the same?
That is surely a nice one.
If I did use water more, I would go for one exactly like that!
I like that reverse action.
As it is, I have just this one piece:
I have used it a half dozen times, all for video shots.
I am more of a dry vapor guy, but have great fun hanging out with you all!
