Stellar customer service. I apologize for being a bit hostile. After I blew up that lovely chrome Persei
@THC SCIENTFIC that I got off the classifieds here from uhh someone in Ca.. It worked great with the kiss cart but the moment I tried to test the herc sr-74 it turned on smelt burnt and wouldn't turn off.

So I have purchased the warranty and will send it back tomorrow. Don't see much choice really.

The nice customer service rep from W9tech sent me think link to the up till now completely unknown Hercules sr-74 user manual. This would have saved me much time and trouble & $$ if it had been included in the persei description on the w9tech website.

I almost pulled the trigger on an okeanos a couple hours ago..... I'm going to wait a while I haven't seen any good feedback on it, I should get the Herc down first.....
Im not a UP Tech pro yet, like many on this thread, but if you already have a 71 or 74 I would buy a nibbler xl instead of an Okeanos 8 days a week. Just my $0.02 :D. This combo has been extemely reliable and super effective for me so far.

on a related matter to the above complaints, I have a thorough understanding of electronics. What are the correct resistance readings i should get for the 3.7v ti gr2 kiss carts and the sr74 at both 3.7v and 7.4v when assembled and functioning, properly?

sr74 white rod (7.4v setup) ~2.3 ohms
sr74 black rod (3.7v setup) ~.8 ohms
KISS 3.7v ~1.5ohms

I got my ProTank in today. Much more solid construction than the CE4 tank which has leaked occasionally for me since day 1. I wasn't really expecting instructions with this one until I did a few searches and found a "identifying Kanger protanks" youtube vid that told me these instructions
assembly.jpg

should come with it, the kanger logo should be engraved on the base (understandable up tech wouldn't want that on there!) and the coil should have the resistance engraved near the bottom where it goes in the base. That's the part I couldn't find on my coils.

The CE4 tank I had leaked pretty badly straight down the center tube. The Protank 2 has a more aerated draw and drastically higher quality construction, although the threads on mine weren't perfect: It was initially not threading into my Persei more than 1 rotation- just after the threads catch, sitting super far off the top and acting like it was bottomed out. I was looking at the thing going "That can't be right", and trying to use the thing with no vapor at all. Then something in the threads found a happy home the 4th or 5th time I'd taken it on and off, and I was able to thread it down like 4 more full rotations and it instantly started working like a champ. Honestly, I'm not really sure how to hit an e-cig juice or an e-cig correctly :shrug:It sure works great when you give 'er a decent pull, but I don't always want a monster rip of nicotine.

This thing makes me yearn even more for a true Chrome SS kit. Would be the perfect mini e cig. I mean I haven't seen any "real" e-cigarette things that I prefer looks-wise over the Kanger tank on the Chrome Persei :)

My PT2 is 510 threaded, Persei is 601 threaded... As for not needing a monster rip, just take shorter drags or if you like big clouds get lower mg juices.

The Herc mostly...just been running one screen/coil for wax, going to add the other after I clean it, haven't had any leaks, but I think Ive been loading kinda light...seems I have a long warmup to get things going...also, the Persei, a couple times now, when I pick it up..unlocked...and hit the button I'll get three flashes, so I go through the lock unlock sequence to get it going,,,what is with the 3 flashes?
Does your top say V3 by any chance?

Yes it does....I just deep cleaned my Herc...complete disassemble, boiled and ISO'd, I did not clean the coil...still have some good oil in it so I thought i would just use it again...so here is what is going on, I reassembled it after wiping everything clean and using canned air to blow it dry, I checked it on a meter...2.5 ohm...perfect, I attached it to the Persei, no coil, and fired it, heated right up, burnt off some vapor, I then added he coil and loaded some wax....nothing...not heating...light is on on the Persei, rechecked all my contacts about 3 times, re-wiped with ISO, dried, back together with coil....now it heats, but after about 10-15 sec....light will start flashing continuously, until I let off, then I can refire....is this a protection thing? it did this when I first got it too, and why does it just magically start working? Resistance is good, it's like a bad contact, but it sure looks good to me?

It's an issue with that top. It was supposed to fix the mis firing problem with the V2 top but instead has an even more annoying misfiring problem as you've experienced. I sent mine back to G and he recreated the issue and I think they fixed it but unfortunately the next set of prototypes was taken by customs... I would submit a ticket if I were you. It won't get any better...

Some things I did when I had it, we're to unscrew the Hercules and screw it back on and also unscrewing the top and screwing it back on or both and it would work for a little while

Phuk....really? How do I do a ticket? I've used this thing less than 10 times? Why do they ship something with known problems and don't check it before it goes out?

Yes. It has to do with the LVB. It kicks in when the battery voltage drops below a certain threshold. You load the cart and underload the voltage drops so they are conflicting with each other.

You can keep messing with it but it'll keep happening...

My guess is you got it before it was known... I was told they had a top that should fix all the issues. I sent back my v2 top to try it out... I was apparently one of the only ones that had that issue they could not recreate it with any v3 tops they had there so I had to send mine back for them to solve it. I was without my Entire Persei for a week or so...looks like you just got unlucky as did I?

There's a thing on their website. On the right side. You can also try sending a pm to @THC SCIENTIFIC or skype same name if you have it

I have to agree with @Hedonismbot when it comes to the Iris the SR-71 white rod is the best.

@Caligula although we did stop the production, we might do a run for the SR74 but with this comes risks, people always wanting the clouds fucking up the Hercules connection points and then blaming the company for faulty products.

It is going to be inevitable that someone uses a sr71 white rod on a sr 74 hercules without the Iris then come here or other boards and complain how we wont warranty items that are consumable.
I'm down sizing and no longer collecting for collections sake!

However I can not part with my BENDER. OK it's wasteful however the flavor is awesome.

The SR74 I can't wait to fill it with SHATTER!

The OPHOS & OMICRON are cool little units as well.

You haven't got rid of me yet!

I have a Persei with a v3 top also. Noticed a few times I get the triple flash when attaching my Hercules. However when I attach the TI kiss cart it fires right away. I swap out the batteries for a fully charged set and my Hercules fires right away. I believe the load the hercules demands on the batteries makes the voltage drop too much. Creating the triple flash. In conclusion if you have this problem try freshly charged batteries to see if this makes a difference. Again I only notice this with the Hercules. Also make sure you are running AW batteries with the Herc. The stock ones will not work correctly with the hercules and will cause frustration.
