Well, I've experienced the Persei with KISS carts (7.4 so far, 3.7 yet to try) now and I am in errrrrl love
What an amazing vape! Between this and the nano for convection dabs I see NO place for the torch and nail in my errrrrlife. While I definitely liked the Persei experience with the old carts, the KISS carts bring it to another level IMHO. Now I can't wait to try the Herc, I'll be grabbing one shortly

Thanks to @Sleepin in CA for slingin' me my first Persei gear and the good advice... didn't freakin take long for the Persei bug to hit! lol Now I have a purple V3 with 3 KISS carts (2x 7.4, 1x 3.7) and my double top is now in trusty back-up mode. Time to read about rebuilding and pick up some kits from Sleepin so I can be prepared when my carts do give up the ghost.

Sorry to cut in here again. Perhaps a member knows the answer. I recieved my Solo with a bad 18350 battery. All I have is the large 18650 battery. The kit only came with 5 ohm cartridges. While the owner's manual recommends using this configuration to prime the unit the little card provided shows that configuration in RED and says Don't Do It. I get that this configuration is underpowering the cart.But that is the only thing I have(No vaporizer batteries exist in the Skagit Valley). I need my meds today, not next week!!!
So........I have been holdin that friggin button for about 20 seconds and the cart starts to warm, not much(I can hold the cart in my fingers); but it does produce some vapor. Not visable, but there.

Question is: Am I harming the unit in any way or does the thing need to get scalding hot to burn up a cart or even work for that matter. Should I hold the button down even longer if that works????

Does the manufacturer know the answer to that one?

all this talk is making me want to try a 71 or 74 and I barely even use oil herbs mostly over this way, and qwiso and bubble concentrates. I might look into the Bender again some time now that my exploration of vapor has expanded so much. I sort of rushed through that one the first time around.

Look at it this way the Herc will never break down. It's just simply built like a tank. If you like to tinker and do everything yourself it is the ultimate cartridge system. Some have even achieved fractional vaporization where they load a coil then a screen then herbs over it. What this does is it vaporizes the oil then kicks in the herbs, but using the herbs as a filter to further clean your oil. Even when you think your vaping reclaim it's not the case because the herb on top only gets to about 410 degrees and the vapor from the oil gets filter by cooling down compounds that require higher temps then the active ingredients in your oil.

Look into fractional distillation and a fractional column. It all works out at the end to pure bliss.

And with the feedback we have gotten the next generation of Persei tops are going to be built like a tank and the Hercules in mind.

@Dr. Soxhlet its probably not going to damage it any as long as the inner wire is covered in oil (loaded cart). That said, you are just spinning your wheels with a 5ohm cart at 3.7v. Best bet is to seek batteries, or express ship some. In the meantime I'd suggest using whatever backup you have handy. One other thing to note is the carts are disposable, so the more hours on it.....button pressed.....the shorter its life is likely to be.

I think it's easier to get stuff on Giligans Island than in this county. I spent the whole day going from store to store trying to find batteries locally. Burned up gas and then spent $18.00 on disposable CR123 batteries based on the information in the manual. Screwed again!!! The manual does not reflect the fact that these batteries no longer work in this unit and no correction sheet supplied. So I'm out about $30.00 because of someone elses error. I'm on a fixed income, that was the last of my money, so I can't even order more. At this point I'll just return the batteries to the vender for replacement, but of course I can't use the thing till then and it will likely take aweek or two. It's like having a Jaguar and being out of gas!!

Actually I've been hanging out on the Solo thread for a while(love that vape). I wouldn't be in such a state but I'm out of bud, out of money, but have oil galore. The Persei was dispatched to the rescue, but as happens often in my life: Defeat was snached from the jaws of victory!!!

I always jump ass first into shit, not really appreciating the steps/evolution of the product line up.
Therefore, I am going to delay my Herc purchase until my KISS carts no longer tickle my taint.

hi! i just signed up because of a problem to do with the w9tech website and my hercules sr 71 attachment. really need help with this but i'd just like to say that the herc is an awesome piece and before it started acting up for me, would rip massive clouds for me so anyways here;

my persei battery/ power/ bottom half is starting to act up. When i have my batteries in and no sr 71 attachment, attached up top; the blue circle power light lights up and stays on as soon as the piece with the button meets the battery contacts. however once i attach the sr 71 attachment, the light immediately goes out when the contacts meet and any pushing of the power button shows no light. I don't know what to do and it doesn't seem to be heating up the attachment at all.

also not sure if w9tech is affiliated with thc scientific (i have browsed and google searched fc for info and just for basic ins and outs of the persei and the herc) but i placed an order for oil coils (along with an extra set of batteries). i received the package earlier about a week ago and there were no oil coils as depicted, the 3pc pack for 21.99, instead i got one really small oil coil with my batteries.

PLEASE any help is and would be greatly appreciated, don't wanna retire my herc just yet c: tyvm in advance!

@fishscale it would seem your top is bad. If it lights up upon contact with batteries and stays lit......there is a problem. Filing a ticket is the right step. Keep in mind its a weekend and they handle that stuff on weekdays. You can always call them as well. Once again though....weekdays.

The coil situation seems like they sent you a ti coil by mistake. Definitely call in or file a ticket on that order #.

So you're saying that even in non-winterized oil, the waxes and thicker fats are held back by fibrous plant material (which have already just released their trichome payloads), leaving just pure vaporous flavor to deliver its medicinal gifts to the user? I think that's what I heard..
