I read dried is best so my material has been pretty dry. Stem is definitely all the way in and I have the o-ring so it's nice and snug.

Kaptan: it's the SOLO! not pinnacle :)

I have the M1C1 model and get the darkest ABV from 6-8 minutes on level 5. Yeah, some of that is material and/or technique, but still this unit appears to be running a bit cold.

So in that respect, do you have any other product to try? and maybe vary technique a bit to see if results vary.

I have a M107 2 1/2 years old
My other SOLO not sure as to the number is 1.75 years old.
Both of these units I vaporize at level 3 dry.
Wet 4 is more than enough.

My new one I will receive today.
At least I have a benchmark to go by!

I hope this is not like a COKE move were they changed a perfectly good formula only to revert back to the original?

If it's not broke don't fix it!

I had that feeling too, about maybe it was just that herb. A few hours ago I tried a different type and it still performed about the same. Water tube + super fine grind + heat 7 = several medium sized hits until it timed out. Then restarted and another 3-4 hits before it stopped giving any vapor. Taste never really went too bad. ABV looks light tan and crispy.

I read some people putting it on 7 with a water piece and only getting like 3-4 big clouds before it's spent. Mine goes way longer, just not very impressive vapor production.

I also notice that it heats up from cold to 7 in about 30-35 seconds which seems quick so I found a few pages back someone with a m1c1 got it working better after running it on 7 for several charge cycles to "break it in" .. then his started taking just over a minute to get to 7 and produced better.. I know i've only charged it from dead to full twice so far so i'll try that next.

Try this... with stem in and loaded, turn on unit, allow to reach set level, wait 60 seconds longer, then start your session. Kinda allows for glass to heat up and heater temp to stabelize.

Dave what I do is turn the SOLO on.
When it reaches level 2 I insert the stem. Once it hit's level 3 I start medicating! This is my older units!

Ataxian, doing that way, I assume the first draw produces much taste with little vapor.... then subsequent draws the flavor drops while vapor increases, at least for a while, right?

I do that when time allows for an extended session. If I have to rush, I blast it at level 5 ;)

Yea I already started doing that too Dave. Last few sessions have been: Load stem, put in solo, start and heat to 7, wait about a minute or two once it gets there to really let it settle on 7 and then start vaping. I have tried different ways of taking the pull and the "domed screen" method. All seem the same, needs to be on 7 and even with long 15+ second pulls it's still pretty whispy even if not held in.

I also notice that the "heat" light flickers quite often still when it's just sitting there at temp, maybe unrelated and light is just finicky.

I definitely get no "blast" from level 5 :(

Bearded Dude, definitely sounds like your unit is runnung cold. Only other thing I can think of is the lid itself. Is it on tight? Is there any chance of a corrupted airpath. There was report of the black ring gasket (where the stem is inserted) being able to almost completely block air flow if it is moved. Maybe you have a leak in air path.

Hey. I just had a lightbulb over the head moment. Couldn't we compare oven bowl temperatures on units using cooking thermometers? There would be no actual temperatures measured. Only could compare readings between multiple units that were all set to same level. Would give at least warmer/ colder data to work with...and there's a good chance many of us have them..... thoughts everyone?

Level 5 I've tried however I don't like the taste?
My clouds are on the BLUE end of the spectrum.
Some people like the milk shake white clouds!

I like BLUE!

Good suggestion on the lid, I know I removed it to insert the o-ring planetvape includes with their stems, it seemed snugged back down but I will definitely check that out when i've got the chance. That was the other thing I was thinking.. maybe i'm getting too much extra air somewhere because the draw was surprisingly easy even with the stock stem compared to what most seem to say. I shall report back with the findings!

I also ended up getting a Pax for something more discreet for walking around outside, so i'll try that tonight and see how it compares. From what i've seen both produce similar clouds with most seeming to say Solo still gives best clouds comparatively. So if this ends up outperforming the Solo we know something is definitely up with my solo set up lol.

Sounds like you've got the M1C1 blues. If it were me, I'd return any M1C1 model that didn't work properly out of the box just from reading all the problems people have been having with that lot.

This may sound silly, but since you'll have the lid off anyway, take out the o-ring completely. Then test a session without, but by holding the stem so it's flush with the bottom of the oven. The draw should be more restrictive, but probably hotter too, if there was an air leak that this seals off a bit.

Oh, and any pic of the oven with the lid off that you can provide, all the better!

the M1C1 blues....
A sad song indeed!

I have M1D2 says on bottom DC9V - Heating
DC 12 V - Charging. What do they mean?

Is this the one I can use with charging?

Can you use while charging with car charger ?

What happened when you tried to use while charging with older model? Nothing?

Thanks.

I haven't done it but told I could with no issue as it is just plugging it into the wall is the same as the converter. I have an old model so it will only charge if I did that. I will let @OF or @Pipes answer this as they know way better then I do about batts and electric type stuff.

I find level 4 dry on the new one.
Tomorrow I will add the seal.
Too much play for me.
I like my old ones the way they grip.
With a bit of find tuning I'll make this work. Water Path tomorrow.
I think the seal is needed still?

@ataxian , I hope you are eventually going to give us a full report new vs old pros and cons please:nod: TIA.
I will.
So far I like my oldest unit?

Too early to say?
Tomorrow I will fit the seal under the cap before I hook it up to a water path setup!

Maybe that is the difference?

Flavor is very good anyway!

Let me play around with this thing some more.

Pipes or OF would be more qualified than I.

Pipes or OF as far as I know didn't get the new one so tag your IT. Take a few weeks just don't forget. You know you have to live with it for a while to tell.

Is the one pictured your old one or the new one?

My new one.
Tomorrow I will take a photo of all three. However the seal is missing on my new unit. The stem was so loose? My old units with the seals are work horses!

I thought you were getting a M1D2 to check out the new features. An M1A1 like you've pictured shouldn't have the new features. Where did you pick this one up from?

Cheers
