The Dr Dabber Pen

I have one too... I want to know the miliamp hrs and the voltage output. I checked my instruction manual and all it says on the battery is "lithium ion battery: battery power life over 300 times charge" and i haven't the slightest clue what that means... 300 puffs? How long is each puff assumed to be? Ive seen ecig batteries life labeled by puffs before but never understood it.

Edit: this only makes it seem like im still complaining so i think i have to point out that whenever people ask about what im hitting i be sure and tell them and explain the outstanding customer service and the unmatched quality of the product

Aha! I suspected the atomiser didnt come with a mouthpiece. 650 seems a little low but ill live...

Edit: thanks for clarifying. The only downside to this product in this case is the low battery life, but thats only mainly for me because i think the battery is sexy as hell and i want to put it on my ecig tanks :D so itll be short life for vaping ecigs but dabs should be fine! So pumped for the globe and charger tomorrow!

Ok so i have a few questions for the Dr, excuse me if this sounds a bit caustic its not intended too...where is the $80 coming from? The atomiser costs $18, the dabber, ball, and charger cost just under $15... That means that its $50 for a battery and a box??? 1100 miliamp hour batteries for standard ecig threading (which is what is on this product) cost about $15 with a 5 click on off button. Batteries with led displays and that push 1600-2000+ miah hours go for about $40.

Correct me if im wrong, but USUALLY you get better value for money when you buy a kit? Not seeing that here. I shoulda ordered the atomiser and just bought everything else from my local headshop/ecig store for about $20 saving me about $40.

Am i missing something here??? Or does drdabber get his boxes hand crafted by tibetan monks hence the priceyness?

So, you're saying the Dr. Dabber pen isn't worth the money?

@aceonbase, Comparable pens (ie the Vapor Bros. Dabbler) are comparable in price.

As Mom says, the price is on par with other similar units...

Theres no comparable pen on the market in terms of quality and customer service is stellar

And as you state here, the Dr. Dabber pen seems to be better than other pens at a similar price point.

So, I'm confused as to where you stand on this   Do you still think it's not worth the $80, especially considering the extras included, and the customer service provided? Or do you just simply not understand what you're saying? Maybe your Dr. Dabber and concentrates are working just a little better than you think? :brow:  :peace:

Anyhow...You seem to be happy with, and well taken care of by Dr. Dabber, so I'm still anxiously awaiting my unit to arrive so I can hop on this bandwagon with you all!

I ordered my unit the other day, and the Doctor was far beyond helpful over the phone getting my unique shipping situation squared away! He also was very polite despite my being a nuisance several times  and for that I'm very thankful!

So tomorrow looks like the day I'll be trying out my pen...look for some kind of review post in a day or two  I'm hoping that this will fill the small gap left between the VXL Cloud and my newly acquired TV Cera! They are both quite amazing performers, but neither of them are portable enough to work in every situation I need to medicate it; I think that the DD will fit in just perfectly :)

I finally get my hands on some n-tane.
Taste awesome in both the Ghost and the Globe.
Very very fast way to deliver the goods. This is my first owned vape pen. I tried one randomly in a bunch of people before and I can't remember what I tried. Tasted ok.... but DD tastes very good. And looks and feels good.

Did someone say with the buyFC coupon we were supposed to get an extra atomizer?

and what is a skillet?

Edit: Got mine last night, did not use it yet, but it looks magnificent! Can't wait to get home and try it tonight after all my BS errands. Family is coming over the weekend...discretion is key ;).

Also, to the someone that received an open package with nothing inside. My package also was not sealed in any way, but the globe and pen were inside unscathed. Come to think of it, perhaps the extra atomizer fell out? hmmm.

No... You completely missed my point. I was saying that the atomiser costs only 18 dollars and everything else in the kit costs less then 15 excluding the battery. Batteries can be purchased for 15 dollars which made me wonder, why not just buy the atomiser and a different battery and save about $60 and still have the same product (40 if you want the official dr dabber ball charger and dab wand) The atomiser is the really important part and thats where the dr really soars over the inferior competition. However the dr pointed out the atomiser doesnt come with amouthpiece which leaves more room for added value. It just seemed like there was an UPCHARGE when buying the kit as opposed to saving money when bundling various products.

I dont regret buying it and the price is competitive with other products, just seemed silly to buy the kit vs just an atomiser and battery. But you get all the cool dr dabber branding and the battery is quite sexy.

Edit: its standard threading on all the parts and im an ecig enthusiast so this makes more sense to me then perhaps someone who is unfamilair with ecigs. The battery is a standard size and can be replaced by your own ecig battery.

IMO even with the Globe, it's a really stealthy vape pen. It's small enough to be almost totally hidden by your hand.
My hands are pretty small by the way. But not smaller than women hands.
The globe once you start drawing barely shows between your lips and hand.
----I think that this pen works well with small to medium sized dabs.
----I found it to be really easy to draw.
----Fast to deliver. Flavor is good.
----Definitely has a little learning curve. Don't go too long in the button.
----It feels and looks smaller than in pics and videos.
----Feels and looks well constructed.
My only little complaint with this kind of coil heaters, and I think it must be a problem with all of them, is their size.
It's cumbersome and really easy to make a mess loading the heater. Coils look fragile and I can see how patients with motor impaired skills will be frustrated loading the heaters. I'm sure this applies to any pen vape brand that uses this kind of heater.
I follow @Vitolo advice and used a rounded pointed tool for loading.
----Pick a small dab, preferably with a rounded pointed tool.
----Try to aim for the side of the coil closest to the ceramic cup. Makes sense??
----Start slowly gently rolling the tool between your fingers at the same time you dab it to the coil.
----Do not push or slide the dab in the coil. Coils tend to be fragile.
----If dab don't stay on place, be gentle. Coils are fragile :)
----IMO shatter in little pieces will work great in the Dabber.
----IMO with this loading method you have less chances of going wrong.
I'll keep experimenting and bring more details soon.
Stay vaped...

I'm worried about product falling into the little hole that is underneath the wick portion of the heater. Can anyone confirm this is not an issue?

Also, i figured when loading it i would:

-place the atomiser on a flat stable surface
-hold the dab wand approx 1 in above the center of the atomiser/heating coil
-hold a lighter close until it drips off onto the coil

^solid technique? Better way to do it? I want to avoid touching the coil alltogether because they are extreemly fragile

I truly think you are over thinking this......

I put a dab on top of the coil.... after a few pulls check that it is still on the coil. If it isn't, I take a toothpick and carefully scrap along side of the coil and replace it on top.

The only thing you need to be careful of is to keep it mostly upright while hitting so that your product doesn't run into the mouthpiece. And I have never had any problem with anything getting into that hole.

Ok... Incase you havent noticed im a little cranky about the charger situation so its given me a few days to think about stuff like this. Today all my questions and worries will be vaped away when the mailman comes!

Edit: cranky cause i cant hit it. Nothing else.

Edit2: would i be able to keep it in my pocket throughout the day? I was pocturing myself loading a dab before going into work then stepping outside and hitting it periodically. (I know it doesnt hold that much but that doesnt matter to me i would just want a mid-work dab)

You can't avoid touching the coil - I don't even understand why you would. With your dabber just grab a ball of wax or shatter drop onto the coil and let her rip. There is no where for the oil to leak. In essence as the oil melts away and vaporizes some will drip down into the well. This is totally normal, just use your dab tool and scrape out the residue and re-apply to the coil.

The heaters are meant to used this way hence the reason we change them so often.

Now, with this being said there is only one or two things to try and avoid. When scraping be mindful of the coil connector under the coil - this is the power source to the wick. You don't want to break that connector or the pen won't work. Now keep in mind, I've never seen this happen. Second, when cleaning gunk from the edges of the whip you will at times see strands of hair from the wick - don't get nervous as this is totally normal.

And Aceonbase - feel free to reach out to me in a PM if you need any further help. That's what were here for.

Can we have a discussion about this vape vs a wickless alternative which I shall not name? I'm just trying to figure out the advantages vs disadvantages.

This is a strong front runner for my ecig consideration, but I don't know enough about the ecig vapes to make the decision alone. It is my understanding that the wicks are basically the least "safe" part of all ecigs. Does that seem to be correct? The concern being the wicks will fray or burn and you will inhale pieces of fiberglass which sounds terrible.

The reason I want to go with the Dr Dabber is the customer service and active presence on this forum. I just don't know if wickless is a better choice for someone as far as material safety goes. What are the downsides of wickless vs this? Will the wickless simply die faster? If its safer but dies faster I'll go with the wickless. I don't mind replacing it more often if it is cleaner.

What makes all you owners feel comfortable using this vape? How do I know its safe/clean? That is really what I want to know so I can make an educated choice. I don't get what part is titanium in this vape, but I love that material choice.

Any insights from the Dr himself when it comes to safety?

Thanks for your interest in our pen, we are currently in the development stage of a wickless vape. It won't be like anything else on the market and theres really not much else I can say about it at the moment.
The wick in the ghost is used to absorb the concentrate after it liquifies and that is the reason you consistently get the big hits from it. From my experience with wickless pens they don't quite hit as hard as ones w/ wicks but they do usually maintain the flavor. However with our coil being Titanium (the part that heats the concentrate) it really gives off the full flavor of whatever you are burning.

So, I was tossing around the idea of just getting a couple of the atomizers for my current pen, and when I popped the discount code in, this happened (look closely):

Dr. Can you tell us what ohm the coils are? Is there any plans in the future for selling different ohm coils?

I prefer a cooler hit and higher ohm coil may provide that.

Also i assume the wick currently used is normal silica. Have you ever thought of using XC-116 ceramic wick? Its a little more expensive but i hear great things about it in the ecig community.

What would I need to try this on a pen I already have?

I've got a 510 threaded battery and the charger to go with it. Or is it not compatible with 510?

Hey fellow dabbers. I enjoy my Dr. Dabber just as much as everyone else. When I'm just hanging around at home I find great satisfaction when using this pen in conjunction with various water pieces. It works very well and the water helps provide a smoother hit. However, I prefer to not use tubing because after several uses it gets pretty dirty and smelly. When I'm at home, I use a water piece probably 99% of the time. So, I needed a way to connect my pen to my bubblers without tubing in order to keep upkeep at a minimum, preserve maximum flavor with little to no noticeable degradation of taste over time, and, perhaps most importantly, fulfill my love and desire to vaporize with each of my various pieces.

For obvious reasons, I didn't want to just invert the pen and use it with my bubbler that way. I needed a way to connect the pen to a bubbler with the pen remaining upright the entire time. I visualized a strange U-shaped adapter to connect the two. I used MS Paint to sketch a silly drawing of the concept.

hmOoucJ.png

The problem was, I couldn't find anything similar to what I imagined. However, I was able to find two 90 degree glass adapters that I could connect together to form the adapter I needed. That could work. Some more messing with MS Paint helped picture things more clearly.

aKB0LvY.jpg

This is what I was looking for. I ordered the two adapters and wasted no time setting things up right after I received them. Success!

kRuU1Co.jpg

Ideally, I'd like one adapter that could achieve the same task but for now this works just fine. This setup is very easy to use. The taste will stay great use after use and you'll never have to worry about replacing tubing (normal glass cleaning required). I would highly recommend this or a similar setup to anyone who loves oil pens and loves using a water path to medicate.

The two angled adapters are from Mike @ OregonGlassBlower. They're both 18mm female to 18mm male. I got them on eBay. The adapter that connects to the pen is a 14mm female to 18mm male. Also purchased on eBay.

Here's a tiny dab just to show you how it works.

Dr Dabber uses a 510 connection but it is recessed up in the atomizer. Will not work with some standard 510 batteries without an adapter. It works with all ego/510 threaded batteries though.

What adapter do I need? Then is the only thing I need to order the atomizer? I'll be much more comfortable with these parts once I have them in my hands I'm sure.

The battery and charger I have are from liquidizer.

If the battery is ego threaded you should be fine. Post a link to your battery and ill let you know.
