Discontinued Inhalater XP

Yea you will be signing a different tune if you were in the same situation as some of us. Like say me I have owned an Inhalater for just over a year now(I bought my 004 in August) and I have used it for 5 months of the 14 months its been. So I think some of us are in a little different of a situation then you. Saying that I can't wait till I get mine back!! It was my best portable IMO for huge clouds and steathiness. I'll also report back once I get mine and get to try it. You'll either see a praise or a classified ad lol

I understand some users have had to deal with a lot more than me. What I don't understand is how someone can purchase a new vape on the market and expect a perfect model. Virtually every vape to hit the market has had QC issues for a while. This is true for just about any technology, you want a flawless unit, buy the one that has been around for a while and proven reliable. You want the newest and best technology? then you're going to have to deal with some set backs. Plan accordingly and have a backup vape if you need it.

Once the results of the Inhalater XP came back, the question wasn't IF we should buy one, it was WHEN to buy one. While the company is still changing the design a lot, i think it is stable enough now that anyone could buy a q3 and it be hassle free.

Just bumping this, would love to get more input on this as well.
I believe this is what you both are looking for: http://www.planetvape.ca/inhalater-xp-gong-water-tool-adapter.html

A very nice vape, but I need to be able to set temps and the lotus doesn't have this, unless you learn to guess like with the mflb.

Also want something that can be used with one hand, without the need for a blow torch lighter, which looks like I'm hitting a crack pipe or something, so not stealth enough for me.

A great backup vape for when no power's available, but doesn't give me all that the xp does.

Appreciate the suggestion.....any others?
I will be getting the XP when the issues are sorted out soon but just picked up a Pinnacle Pro. LOVE IT!

I also own the Solo and the Da Vinci (DV2)...take the Da Vinci to Mexico all the time...the Pinnacle Pro, now.

Again, the XP looks great and I cannot wait to try it out too!

Edit: The King of the double-post just did it again! Sorry Admins!

mod note: At least you noticed. Two posts merged.

!?

Edit
sorry just realized you might not have an inhalater yet!

Just got my inhalater and have been using it all day. I'll write a longer review about it sometime this week. But so far, the unit is performing great.

Quick things I noticed:
1. The clouds don't seem thick at any temperature to me, and definitely not with anything under setting 5. But the vapor is there, and the unit definitely works well.
2. The auto shut off feature seems to happen much more than I would have liked it too. For multiple back to back capsules, it may turn off on you at some point unexpectedly. But its not a problem to turn it off and back on for a few seconds.
3. The capsules seem a little fragile, like they aren't actually a tube, but a wrap like folding a sheet of paper over itself. Also, the extra capsule I purchased is different than the two that were included in the unit. Oh, and earplugs do in fact work amazingly well as caps for the capsules.
4. My unit is all black, and so small that its extremely stealthy. What's more stealth than being able to hide it easily in a pocket?! The sticker seems to be sturdy for now. I also think it looks pretty slick.
5. The temperature range 4-6 is best for flavor, but anything above 5 will give some nice vapor clouds. Vapor seems to be produced as low as setting 2.
6. The heat is extremely well spread across the substance. It is the most uniform I have seen of any vape, including many desktops.

Overall first impression: Vapor Clouds do seem a little bit lacking, but the vape is still so effective. Even without producing thick clouds, it gets the job done. A single half capsule of some finely ground herb had me and a friend very well medicated. It small size is simply amazing, and its heatup time is very fast. For low temp users like myself, vapor clouds are not as much of an appeal as flavor. Flavor is very distinct and varies greatly by setting. Personal favorite is probably somewhere between 4 and five. Definitely recommend the inhalater for anyone who wants a very small but very effective vape.

I'll write more later, but for now I'm simply enjoying my new unit too much!

A packed capsule will fit 0.3g. Half will be <0.15g; for two people! Say 75mg of herb per person.

A quarter capsule will get you medicated but there is no taste, feel more like hot air.

2/3 of a capsule works a complete day for me: Starting in the afternoon and finishing at bed time at high heat, turning the unit on for 1-2 inhalations.

An interesting thing is medication VS temperature.

I will try this experience. On a first day will not turn heat up more than 5. On a second day I will use abv from the previous and keep heat at 6.5. Finish a third day at max. Will report here

I'd suggest vaping at a range of 2 - 2.5 (for strictly THC high) and then moving up to 3.5+ for a high including both CBD and THC. I found that using it at 2 extracted THC enough to see noticable effect. 2.5 works better, but may have some CBD blended as well. These will produce the most dramatic differences in medication vs temperature, as you are directly controlling the two most effective cannabinoids. Past 3.5-4 will produce a different result as well based on many other compounds. I'd start at 2-2.5, then 3.5-4, then maybe 6-7 to finish it off.

Great technique!
Packed a full capsule at 2.5. Took long, slow and deep inhalations (3)
What a great taste! Like eating a fruit or something. Effect is cerebral to me.
Still got a full capsule. Got more than I need for the day.

I've found myself using 4 and 5 quite a bit now because I've been a bit under the weather, very smooth and no irritation at all. I only look for max heat in quick hitter situations or in a group of smokers who probably prefer "clouds".. But most the time I'm between 5 and 7 on my solo sessions..I have a high tolerance so I will complete a packed capsule in 1-2 sessions.(10 minutes)

XP still holding up great and it is my go to vape when I am on the go. My sticker is fraying but I don't want to peel it since I really like the look. I don't think I have any other cons as of now.. If my unit ever crashes and burns I expect Inhalater to have great CS as they were promising by then, which would put this vape at the top of my list.

As for a XP vs Pinnacle review.. I had the pinnacle for a few days and I did like it, it looked better than the XP and felt more sturdy.. I actually like steel casings. It put out consistent clouds and was tasty, very comparable to the XP.. The only reason I got rid of it was cause it didn't get my AVB as dark as I would like, but I am sure the higher temp PNPRO would fix that for me.

No apology necessary!

I haven't jumped on the XP yet but am certainly considering it. I currently own the EQ, Solo, Da Vinci (not Ascent) and the PNP. The EQ is an excellent 'desk top' when you have a group of people...even by yourself, really. The Solo has been my main driver for the past year...no portable can beat it for taste (IMO), but it's not really portable. I only use the Da Vinci when travelling (i.e. Mexico) and it does the job well...nice clouds...average taste...but I find it a bit of a bitch to clean/maintain. Just received the PNP a couple of weeks ago and I really like it a lot. For me, the taste/cloud production is on par with the Da Vinci (maybe a bit better) and it's SO small and portable...pretty amazing, actually. Also easy to clean so it will replace my Da Vinci when travelling. To be honest, I have been using it exclusively at home lately as I find it extracts goodies quicker when I am on the run than my other vaporizers. No stirring...constant, even darkening of my herb in the 'bullet'.

It will be several months before I even consider the Ascent. I'm just not convinced that it is ready (even now) for the public...still waiting for what goes wrong next. Again, just my opinion and several members may completely disagree with me.

I do not have personal experience with the INH but understand it is pretty solid. I was actually going to pick this one up but chose the PNP due to the issues INH was having (but now solved). My buddy said the only hassle is the cheap capsules which can break/warp/bend easily. He is quite happy with how it functions, however, and says it is well worth the price.

Good luck:tup:

I can comment on the capsules: They are a thin sheet that is wrapped along in a cylinder and then attached to a screen and mouth piece. It looks pretty sketchy tbh. But I found they are actually pretty durable. I mean the biggest threat they would have to being damaged is in cleaning them out, if you poke something to mess the screen or deform them my squeezing it. Also could be damaged in a pocket if its preloaded and ur not smart about it. But its just like a joint, don't put it in your pocket or it may fall apart. I haven't found them to be fragile enough to care, because you should always be careful when doing the things just mentioned.

Thanks for the info, hip...and you are right...it's just using common sense. OK, I'll pull the trigger tomorrow:clap:

@Inhalater I apologize if I am being rude or a pester, but I would just like a simple yes/no on if the units shipped or not. I have to go down to the post office to pick it up, or check if it's there for that matter, and I've been going down for three weeks now making myself look like a fool, even though for all I know it may not even have been shipped yet. I'm highly anticipating the amazing product ^.^

Thanks so much!

Just tell the post office to notify you when the unit gets in. I thought Inhalater stated they already shipped units last week? I got mine.

Still going with yesterdays capsule. Temp at 6.5 now. Still effective medicine. Did 3 or 4 sessions on the cap I think ;-)

I'm curious about the weigh loss of the capsule. Need a scale in mg :-( Did anybody test weight difference from new substrate to consumed substrate?

Cant wait to hear your input @VapeNStone.. Agree on the adults only thing lol, that is weird, you can probably get a razor blade and just cut that bottom sticker part off?

my xp just arrived as I was reading this thread :) That adults only thing is really bugging me though
GOD, I do wish they'd stop screwing with the sticker. adults only?

I'm still eagerly awaiting more reviews because I believe this will be my next vape. time will tell. Cant wait for more folks to get the unit in-hand so they can convince me to buy!

So I turned it on to do a burn in, but then I remembered that they said we actually don't need to do that anymore. So I still ran a ABV capsule at like 5 or maybe 6 just sucking in and blowing out into the unit to flush it some, but I tasted no bad taste or electrical taste(I have in the past). So I packed it up and gave it a go. I could taste it some but I wasn't getting much vapor at 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 or even 6(I guess a little) until I turned it up to 7 and 8(highest setting on the dial) did I start to really see some vapor but it was weak in comparison. It is too much airflow IMHO. Then capsule needs to be PACKED to get it to make a crapton of vapor really. I got nice and medicated off that bowl so it for sure works but for what I'm looking for I need to basically have it full blast all the time which I'm sure won't be good. Plus the ABV didn't look that dark to me, what if I wanted to put some bubble hash or something in there? Would it even get hot enough for that? My solo gets great hits still after a few years now with no problems and I have a lotus on the way. Oh and it seems the sticker is just the colored piece now, it doesn't go all the way around anymore(at least I can't tell) and they don't have the stickers in the ribs anymore.

Very interesting question about the weight...will have to arrange a test somehow.

@VapeNStone interesting. Have you tried with a half loosely packed cap yet? I also get different results depending on how full and temps.

It's hard to quantify cloud density as it can be very subjective, so don't know what to say there.

How do you draw? (Another subjective item, but got to ask).

Agree on the adults only...haven't seen it on other vapes so not sure if required really.

Nice to see more units getting out there.

Had an idea for future design...a light at one end so we can call it a flashlight. Just need another led in white. Doesn't need to be bright, just enough to help stealth.

Not sure what the obsession with vapor clouds is. I guess its fun to see them, but it has no indication of vapor production. Sure more may come out in that single hit, but that doesn't mean its weaker, it just means there's also more air intake so the hits are smoother and cooler.

I do enjoy milking a bong at 7 every once in a while, but most of the time I prefer the taste, and easy hits of a 4-5. 6 is good as well if you want to see a bit more "clouds."

I get it some may like clouds, (it is satisfying to see for sure!), but in the end I think its more of a visual appeal than anything.

Yea my review is off of the loosely packed capsule. I don't really want to pack the shit out of the capsule because yea I get big banging hits but the taste is shit after only a few hits. And usually when I pack the capsule I'm able to get quite a few sessions out of my shit, so that means I get good flavor for a few hits then I turn it off and have a whole nother session that has garbage flavor. Yea I get high but it tastes nasty. I'm really disappointed in this vape now because this is NOT what I ordered. The original INH004 was way better than this and so was my last XP. I think they turned it down to much or moved the sensor to much? Also a little disappointed that they sent me just the Inhalater itself and no extra capsules, not even a box.

See with my home units and my other portable I'm able to get big huge banging hits that also taste great. Inhalater used to be like this before they made all their "changes". Now it seems all the changes have made this no longer the portable for me.
