Yeah i was suprised the solo wasnt mentioned either. Any comments on the solo.

Don't get a VAPOLUTION if flavor is not important!
Now that looks appetizing! Did you purchase the whip seprately? I thought it was only glass stems?

Year it works OK without the gong and if you brake a steam down it works a lot better as I found out by dropping my steam which I use as my gong as its only a couple inches after the bowl end it pops in a 14mm down steam sweet I'm still getting a gong fitting tho just to see

Do a little searching on the bay, the Solo can be had as low as $132 inc shipping and a grinder.

Best I can find. The only other portable one that I like for for the $ is the Flashvape, but the Solo seems more versatile. The Flashvape may be better for passing around.

They both have stealth features, but these features are entirely different. They have their strengths and weaknesses like most vapes, but both seem like solid values.

For home vapes there are more models to choose from, but the blem SSV and the Vapolution 2.0 seem like solid choices. That little log seems cool too.

There's really a lot of great options out there but there appears to be some stinkers as well. And what is perfect for one vaper may be wrong for the next so know your needs.

I'm just getting back into vaping and the options are staggering compared to a few years ago.

Also don't forget to scan the FS forum here, there were a couple of SSVs last time I checked and they rarely if ever fail so no worries buying that model used!

I would also recommend the LSV/SSV/and while i haven't used it the DBV as well!. they fit your price range. and sound to be what you want in terms of hits. the lsv is great for putting onto bongs. you skip the whip part.

a quality log is practically foolproof, and with some tubing can be used with a bong. I had a UD that i used for water hits all the time. until i got my cloud that is.

if you have the cash consider the cloud or the sublimator, but they are expensive and the 7th floor line will def do the job! buy a "king" later on once you have decided you life vapor more. some don't... :( I call those people freaks :D

I may end up just spending a little extra and go with my gut and what everyone else has been saying, and get the LSV! I'm definitely a vaper and always will be considering I have a lung disease and can't afford to inhale that nasty smoke. So I am not a freak! ;) Thank you for the advice good sir!

I own both, and I disagree with you on both points. I think the FV is more versatile than the Solo. You can use it in full conduction or full convection mode, but the Solo is a mix of both and can't do either 100%. They're both easy to pass around, but the Solo is better if you have novices because the FV requires more technique.

The FV is more relatable to the MFLB correct? In which it has a learning curve and a structured technique? God I remember trying to get my friends to use the MFLB the correct way. It always ended in combustion and a dirty vape. Not okay with me :\

Yes, in that sense it is similar to the LB. Combustion is even more likely with the FV because it is so powerful. Having said that, it is well worth mastering. The FV is my daily driver and the one I like most of all the different devices I have tried.

You guys make a very good point about the FV needing some technique; I was mainly referring to the difference in bowl sizes when I said that the FV was better for passing around.

Of course I meant amongst experienced vapers ;)

I haven't tried either one but those are the ones I am considering in that price range since I don't have a portable to speak of at this point. I would think that with the counting and the window that the FV technique is pretty easy to master, I especially like the "shaking" aspect in between hits/power-ups.

As far as versatility I was referring to the wide range of options available for the solo, but the FV has some very interesting (but quite different) options available as well: mainly their Stage 2 high-powered battery/convection setup.

As far as stealth goes the solo is easier to use in public with the soda cup trick, but the FV looks like a flashlight when not in use so there you have it form my perspective.

edit:
So guess what: I have a FV Stage 2 package coming in

They don't actually offer a stage 2 package. But when I visited their website the other day, I had noticed that their price was better than the ebay seller. And then I noticed earlier today, perhaps I checked back thanks to this thread, that flashvape had created their own ebay listing at the same price as their site, which I had visited the other day.

And I already had a question in mind, so I asked them through the bay if they had any plans to offer a stage 2 package so I wouldn't have pay for 2 battery chargers and 4 batteries since that's what ultimately interested me. They replied that since I was the first inquiry(!) through ebay, that they would make me a special package with the substituted upgrades in order to insure good feedback on their first ebay order!

Needless to say the transaction was completed tout de suite, as my only portable atm is a penvape that is questionable at best for herbal vaping and I had my eye on this puppy. Plus I am averse to hard draws and didn't feel like experimenting with unavailable screens to try and correct that issue on the solo. Especially after my time with the pax.

I am thinking of a mod to make it function as an actual flashlight, but we will see how practical that is when it gets here!

I also told them that I would do them one better and discuss my findings over here; I guess I should go check out the FC thread now. I'm pretty sure that most are happy with it but I haven't actually read anything about the stage 2 upgrade besides on their site. But I'm pretty sure I'll like it, what can go wrong with moar power and moar convection?
