Any of you guys have experience using the lsv with an ht? I'm just curious as to how this would work without the herb falling down into the heater?

Whats an HT?

And one other question, I usually plug my LSV into a surge protector and when I use it with friends it gets insanely tangled. It came wrapped up in a circular way and I usually do that ant night but it gets tangled up in the weirdest way when I use it now and I'm afraid the cords going to short out one of these times. The cord gets stuck together basically like static would be holding something together, I have to pry it apart during a session with my friends multiple times. Should I not wrap it up at night like that or what?

Unplug it and allow the cord to unwind with the plug end free.

Power cords shouldn't be wound up so often. You're bending the wires inside back and forth when you do that and it's like if you bend a paperclip in half enough times. Eventually it breaks.

If you could let it stay slack when not in use and unplug it every once in a while to take any twist out of the line it'll last a lot longer.

LSV has finally arrived :D

It looks real nice in blue DeltaNine. I ended getting mine in boring old silver because I'm kinda clumsy and I hoped it would hide the scratches better. I knew as soon as I got one scuff on it my OCD would drive me mad whenever I saw it, in fact just knowing it was there would be enough to annoy me.

Mine doesn't have the logo and I got mine way after they introduced the colors.

Hmmm, maybe only the colored ones have the logo? Is yours silver?

I got my black one pretty much right as they brought out the colors, and it has a logo, but my old silver one doesn't.

I'll post a video demonstrating how I have been using this thing a bit. It's just uploading now.

This thing kicks ass by the way!

Compared to my SSV, the Flavor is much stronger and cleaner tasting without a dirty whip in the airway. It's also much more easy to clean, as I really only have to clean the WPAs. Very easy to pack up and leave with the sick hemp bag included as well.

One negative I felt I experienced with this vape, is when I tried the direct draw mouth piece the air was much hotter then I was comfortable inhaling for more than 2 seconds. (I had no intention of using it anyways so this negative is not a big deal to me, I just wanted to give it a try once and this was what I noticed)

All around a great vape.. I got a ceramic disc to attempt vaping oil with it in the WPA so hopefully that works out good. Otherwise I'll have to keep my SSV for the Dab Dome.

EDIT:

As you might notice in the video, the LSV is not exactly practical/comfortable to use with all water pipes.. such as small bubblers. At the end of the video I combusted a bowl with the heating element just for show lol.

Based on my experience with this vaporizer so far, I would say that it vapes bowls more evenly than my SSV, and by the end of the bowl (several hits usually and stirring each time) I have a pretty consistent looking AVB.

The WPAs also seem like they will be easier to maintain, thus allowing for a better air flow.. The screen can be removed much easier for cleaning than an SSV wand screen(not that either is hard really).

It also feels very well made which is always good.

Thanks to everyone who posted information in this thread that helped me decide to get this.

the puffing method definitely helps also if you try to get your tongue in the way of the air path so the air spreads out around it instead of all the hot dry air directly hitting the back of your throat it helps a lot, also you really get to taste it on your tongue.
I definitely agree that water makes the experience more enjoyable overall, but nothing beats that first dry hit taste-wise. I actually never found it to be too harsh with the normal transfer wand but that is compared to the much shorter stem of my solo

Lol at you using the LSV like a heat wand at the end to combust ahaha

Oh thanks for the tip, I will give it another try.

Haha, come try it out man :p

Puff on it like you would a cigar. For me, that solved the heat issue, but even then, I still like vaping through water a whole bunch better.

It actually occurred to me that I have never smoked a cigar.. can you elaborate a bit please?

What, Me Worry?

Looks you are getting a small extra dark spot on the outer edge of the load.

I have been wondering if it was just something about my heater cover, element or load size that was causing mine to do that.

A typical load for me does not even clear the ice pinches and just covers the screen so the singeing effect tends to be far more apparent. It is usually at the 9 o'clock or five o'clock position depending on which way the temperature knob is pointing. I never go beyond 12:30 on the dial and use a medium draw speed.

Is the singeing fairly typical in everyone's experience, especially when using a smaller load?

Honestly the dark spot would've been my own fault.

I like to vape at fairly high temps with this thing, and I normally rotate through my entire hit, but I held it still and this caused one spot to be heated a bit more. It didnt burn at all whatsoever though, just got a darker brown. I normally use this temp and after a few hits with stirring/rotating LSV when hitting the entire bowl is a consistent brown color. I would say the problem is more common with a large load IME, on my SSV and LSV because the herb is then slightly closer to the heating element.

The piece I normally use is the G-Spot tube in the middle, and if you noticed the bowl looked green after it. That was literally my first time using my LSV with my everest bubbler and it was a bit awkward to hit, and I guess that is why the bowl got browner in one spot.

It was also the first time I hit it through the double honeycomb, and so I wasn't 100% sure what drawspeed to use. My G-Spot/Beakers that I typically have been using with the LSV have almost no drag so the draw speed is much different than percolated pieces I have.

SUMMARY:
You should be able to fully avoid 'singeing' your bowls with improved technique IMO. Just keep in mind, the colors seen in that video are normal for my AVB.. If I made the video longer and fully hit the bowl you would see better. Inhale faster/lower temp if you have this problem still. Rotate the Spherical Ground Glass (If applicable) for more even vaping.

instead of taking one long draw with an inhale at the end you take lots of short puffs with short inhales of fresh cold air in between. The easiest/best method I have found of doing this is to leave your lips on the wand but part your lips on both sides every couple of seconds to let the fresh air in. It isn't exactly the same technique as a cigar but that is the best way to describe it.

Thanks, makes sense now.

I normally rotate through my entire hit

I always rotate through the entire hit and stir afterward.

I held it still and this caused one spot to be heated a bit more.

I have experimented with that in the past and got very similar results to when I rotate it. As a matter of fact several members use/have used M/M gong adapters to good effect, with which no rotation is even possible.

Also tried faster and slower draw speeds and temperature settings anywhere from 11-3 o'clock.

You should be able to fully avoid 'singeing' your bowls with improved technique IMO.

I do not claim to be a vapor wizard or anything, but I have been vaping since the very late '90s. As a result it does not take me a long time to learn to use a new unit and I have had the LSV for some time now.

The units/glass listed in my signature are just the ones I still own.
