Discontinued Thermovape Cera

No, I find the taste the same. The ceramic leaves you with a very clean vapor..the advantage is in the feedback that I am getting. One could say you get slightly better tasting vapor from the glass setup due to the warmth I getting from the wider air path, but it is marginal.
Have you tried it with a WATER PIPE?

Has anyone posted a cross section schematic of the CERA and/or cartridge? That would go a long way to helping me understand how the thing is supposed to load up and function. I've go an EO version on order and would like to hit the ground running. Thanks for any help!

I wouldn't hold my breath for a schematic...pretty sure it's top secret stuff ;). If you stick to the advice already laid out (loading up the ceramic, etc) you should be able to hit the sky flying :D

Finally got to try out my Cera EO last night. Loaded it up with some runny oil and it soaked into the ceramic very easily after I gave it a good warm up to heat the insides. I gave it a little more heat but not full blast, so the oil could fill it up well. I think I put about .5 in there just guessing. After letting it sit for a while, I turned it on and it started making delicious vapor. holy crap is that tasty...it was PURE flavor, nothing added. I love that. This is what I've been looking for. Something that will allow me to taste exactly what I put in and not come out altered. Now, I'm a lightweight conservationist compared to most oilers, so I didn't go hard on the button to produce a big cloud. My friend gave it a little longer heat up and got more dense vapor than I did. I love how it can produce vapor big or small. The vapor was noticeably smoother and not at all hot compared to other cartridge based oil vapes. I am beyond satisfied. This is exactly what I've been looking for. This was only my first try, and we will see how it holds up over time. But the cera looks and feels like it was built to last. Very happy right now. No more messing around! Delicious, effective vapor whenever I want is a beautiful thing.

I like your set up.
I prefer glass!

I'm not so sure why that would be. Have you tried to tell the difference without peeking? I have, and I couldn't do it. While the ceramic and glass are basically a push when it comes to chemical activity (taste), some might argue the ceramic is superior in terms of being tough and dealing with the heat.

Having quickly tried both (alternately) I think I prefer the ceramic cap over the glass one for most uses. It was kinda fun to put a whip on and watch the vapor come off.....

By all means try it if it appeals to you, but I'm not sure I can recommend it as a great upgrade unless you're in the mood for it. The ceramic cap or drip tip with an oil cart are the winners IMO.

Just woke up and grabbed a glass of water and my cera EO. Using this thing in the morning is SO much more pleasant than starting the day with a dab.

As far as plugging the bottom intake holes is concerned, i too have managed to do this. I had my cera loaded up with some beautiful amber sap. when the vapor started to get really thin (and i confirmed that it was not just a low battery) I decided to load her up with some PG. So i emptied the little capsule into the core while hot from a previous session i was also pulsing the momentary switch. I think that loading .5g of PG was too much considering the ceramic inside was not completely dry. that or i loaded it too fast. when i went to take a drag i could feel a bit more restistance and could hear and feel the cart seriously gurgling. when she cooled the intake was clogged. to fix this i heated up the cart with the switch and started using the cera upside down in a WP. my though was that i needed to get the unabsorbed PG at the bottom to absorb back into the ceramic. well it worked for me. the cera really loves PG so far. its been spittting out vapor with a faster warm up time than the other concentrated ive put in.

so far ive vaped 4+ grams out of the CEO. this thing just keeps getting easier and easier to use.

its official..Im smitten with Cera

Thank you for your input.
I'll just use it as is and I'm sure it will be fine!

Yeah, I guess so. I'd just like to know exactly what the oil is doing in there, it sounds like the biggest issues are from using semi solid extracts. Pratice practice practice :)

I'm not a dabber but unless you wake up a whole lot faster than me I can see a real advantage in pushing the button down for a bit over waving fire around first thing in the morning.

Glad you're getting to know the Cera, very seductive for sure if you meet her on her home turf.

Thank you for your input.

You've very welcome. I agree, as shipped it does just fine. More over, the word is getting out, it won't be a secret much longer......

I kind of get a kick out of puffing into the unit gently to clear the clogs...it's satisfying when the blockage melts, and a little puff of smoke shoots out of the intake holes :D

It's cool to see for sure, but if you push it a little bit far oil gushes out on top of the threaded plate where it wicks into the threads and the gap between the plate and sidewall driving clean freaks nuts. One guy already goofed up the screws he shouldn't have touched trying to clean it up.

Remember, "some farts got lumps".

Now happy Friday all! lol ;)

About that glass adapter..... Its on our website, its been there for no less than 6 months! It was actually made for the T1, but with 2 added o-rings it works right on the Cera. Did some long drawn out testing with it last night, and it is simply amazing!!! only thing is you get a few scooby snacks because of the lack of a "UFO".

Now back to assembly :)

Cheers,
Tim

Hey, maybe you're on to something else here? Two Fridays in the same week? I bet a lot of folks would support that. Maybe trade Monday for one? Nobody seems really fond of Mondays.

And Friday is most guy's third favorite day of the entire week......

Good tip on the glass part being 'on the site'. I still can't find things there, perhaps you could help us out with a link? Since T1s aren't 'in Vogue' anymore, does this mean you're going to start including those two needed rings with the glass so guys can use it on Cera when they get it (that's a hint if necessary.....).

This should work for most of you, just a few accessories for now. ;)

Cool, thanks, that should work.....until the next mystery change.

So, are you going to drop the fat ring for the T1 and replace it with the two smaller ones for Cera? Some Cera owners are likely to want to use it as an accessory now.......

Or, perhaps, are there enough spares in the original kit to cover this????

One of the best lines on FC :D

Words to live by, for sure.

I know tim already beat me to it with the link, but i just realized how the site works. When you click the Essential oil it gives you the two EO cera options with accesories for the revolution below them. When you click loose leaf, you get the loose leaf ceras with T1 accesories below them including the glass adapter. Im sure everyone thats been having problems finding it have been clicking essential oil.

Edit: Doesnt really make a big difference, the only differences are the two glass adapters and the evolution adapter

The original O-ring kit has enough to use the glass with, However if you do order the Glass mouthpiece make sure to make a note you are using it on a Cera and we'll put a few extra.

So I have two questions,
can I use cera LL with hash? (or a combination herbs/hash?)
I have some hash and I've seen a lot of talks here about bubble hash but what about regular hash?
(I'm not a connoisseur when it comes to hashes, what i've got is a very hard, dark sandy substance
wich gets a bit kneadable when warm) I have never combusted in my life so this would be the
first time that I'm using hash, so I dont know if it's all that or just more of the same in a different package.
And second, any tips on how often I should boil/soak the LL core?
I swipe it now and then with iso so it stays clean and I don't want to boil it every week or so if not needed.
How can I see if it's time to clean the LL core? Does it perform less as an indication it should be cleaned?
Thanks

so i just ran through whateve pure gold was in my cera. FWIW i definitely got more than 36 inhalations that noah got on video. Noah must take some monster rips!

To those who have done cleanings before: should i torch clean my core before i put anything more in there? or should i just load her up and clean later? im getting some gurgling when she gets hot but not much meaningful vapor. ive already ran through 4+ grams of oil $ wax. i am hesitant to do a boil or iso because im heading back to the hospital to see grandpa in a few hours and i need to have cera on hand and ready to go. the family really enjoyed using the cera last night. it brought the tension down tenfold.

all advice is appreciated

Always in a state of confusion and silliness♀
How long does the LL take to cool down after the 2.5 minute session that jcat said? I want to know who long you have to wait till you can use it again. TIA.

Im all my experience with the CEO i would say that you dont need to clean it much if at all. What i do for my basic usage cleaning is just run it empty and do a 20-20 burn. This will clean off any impurity buildup around the coil so that your next load will taste nice and fresh. Note; the vapor produced as its running dry wont taste the greatest as its mostly just impurities being vaped off.

An ISO wash and water boil are typically for those of you who want to clean it up before traveling, this will get rid of most the smell and give it a near new look.

Cheers,
Tim

I remember the old videos saying if you ran it for 2 minutes give it 2 minutes to cool off with the mouthpiece off. 1 for 1 basically.

EDIT: What is a 20 20 burn ?
