Well look like my battery issue is actually and issue. Going to have to contact tech support monday to see what I have to do about this battery. Today I took it off the charger, went through one oven load and then packed it up again and got the 2 flashing red lights and then it turns off. I clicked open and closed on the mouthpiece and took it out and in, an it finally heated up. This happened to me twice, before it started heating up and then now it's finally won't even turn on ( I assume the battery is dead now and needs to be charged). It says clearly on the site that I should be getting 2 hours of continuous use out of it before recharging and I would say mine is about, less than 30 minutes.

Looks like I'll have to get my battery replaced or an exchange, not sure if any one has had this problem before, but if you did what process did you go through? Sucks first I had to bring back my Inhalater and now the Pax !!!

Good thing I have my MFLB, it always seems to save the day for me, especially lately!

This is so tough. I REALLY want a pax, though Im kinda waiting for a certain someone to review it, but at the same time I just want to order one already!!

Me, too. Mine came this afternoon and I was even surprised by how small the box was. Mine is charging and I'm looking forward to a spin around the block. I've had it about an hour, and so far no sticking mouthpiece!

After you play around with it you should let it charge overnight. Do this for the first few days to let the batterie get used to holding a charge.

Thanks for the advice. It is a nifty device to play with. I've read a lot of technical posts about batteries, but I'm still not sure about a basic question: if I'm not using the pax for a week or more at a time, can I just leave it on the charger or should I store it and charge it when I need it? (I didn't get the pax for home use but for traveling.) Apologies--I assume this has been covered somewhere in this long thread.

once it's green on the charger the battery has reached its maximum capacity (4.2 volts). i have tested this with a multimeter.

therefore, there is no reason to leave the device on charge after it shows as green, this only causes the battery to discharge slightly in my experience, probably due to the light using battery power. not sure though, i always take the device off the charger as soon as its fully charged.

most i've left it on for is overnight. it really makes no difference though, no charging happens after the light turns green as far as i know. not sure if the green light is being powered by the battery or charger, however i know if i pull my pax off the charger as soon as it goes green and put it back on right away, it goes green again extremely quickly. if i leave it on the charger for a few hours with the light lit, pull it off then put it back on, it takes 5-10 minutes to get back to green again rather than the ~1 minute it takes if taken off and put directly back on. i definitely think some battery life is being lost during the time the light is green on the charger.

just speculating about that though, i haven't actually done any more multimeter testing as i don't feel like taking apart my pax again.

Just ordered my Pax and am very excited. I had a quick question for you guys: What dental brushes are you guys talking about for cleaning the Pax? Link? I tried looking around but could not find it. Also, does anyone know where online to get cheap 99% iso(by the bottle or case)? Everywhere I look it is quite expensive but i would like to use that for my cleaning/extraction. Thanks for all the help, this forum is great.

Walgreens. I use Everclear myself, since i can't find 99 and only 70, but I prefer Ethanol over iso anyway

I prefer ethanol for cleaning/extraction also - turn into hard candies or tinctures I prefer that over ISO evaporation reclaiming as well. Personal preference kind of thing.

So... Read the tip about wetting mouthpiece with ISO and engaging/disengaging the mouthpiece several times, let dry, (wiping quickly around temp button) blah blah - BINGO!! Fixed my wonky temp light issue completely. So tickled to have an at home fix

That's what I thought when I first started looking for Everclear. Used to be able to buy it in any liquor store, but then it kind of went away. It turns out that the more "low end" liquor stores have it sometimes. If you are in the US check it out!

Yeah, It works well, I'm not sure why your unit isn't performing like it should. Just dont force the draw, take a nice and easy hit and you will be blowing clouds!! I prefer mine on medium for the first couple of hits then I crank it up to high and man, does it perform!!

I have had my Pax for 24 hours now, and have begun taping video cuts.
I am going to try to be patient and do this in a positive light, so I am taking my time.
I almost wish I had not gotten my Inhalater first, as I was VERY pleased with it, and it is a hard act to follow.
So far my experience with the Pax has left much to be desired.
I was going to make this my Vape for the day, but am being "foiled" by long charge times.
Am reading hints and tips, and will report back.

I am having some issues with my light turning blue (inactive mode), mid session, while I am actively moving. This could be the motion sensor. I will vape this afternoon, and see if this changes, and if it does not I will contact Ploom.
I do have comments about the mouthpiece's temperature.. and the way that it pinches my lip if I walk or move while vaping

The mouthpiece has ever so tiny an amount of play in it. This combined with the shape of the mouthpiece allows your lip to be pinched in this small space while vaping. The pinch is not painful in any way, but this design factor did immediately draw my attention as undesirable for a device of this cost.
The mouthpiece was made with a non direct air path, presumably to cool the vapor before it is inhaled.

I would rather have the full vapor, at the temperature it is at. The gradually diminishing size of the mouthpiece, is very much like an inverted funnel, allowing the hot air to hit the funnel walls as it makes it's way to the pointy end.
This makes the Pax mouthpiece very hot to the lips.
I found that I must also be cautious to NOT wrap my pinky finger around the base of the Pax (for stealth or support) as it can become surprisingly hot to the delicate inner flesh of the small finger.
These are just initial impressions from a picky vaporist.
I do have a feeling I will develop a fondness for the unit, and will be posting a video soon showcasing the unit's great aspects!

Vito let us know your opinions. I was happy I got the INH with much less maintenance over the pax but it still has my interest if the "non-issues" get fixed. Keep an eye on your herb use as well since the pax and the INH seem to be so addictive that they use soooooooooooo much herb.

Vito! I started looking at this vape based on your favorable outlook. I love my Pax, but I didn't at first. Learning curve. I would pack a 1/2 oven, and pack it tight. The tightness of the pack was where I was initially failing. When installing the little screen, leave the empty cavity it creates over the vapor path hole.

Waiting 10 seconds after turning green will heat more herbs. I start on low, and later stir and turn to medium, stir and finish it on high.

I will surely put this and other tactics into play.
In no way do I feel negative about my Pax at this point, and I do realize that after a few uses, most vapes become very familiar.
My comments were but initial impressiosn.. (we do want the good folks at Ploom to know what we feel as we use the thing 1st times)
I appreciate willieR's timely reminder that the screen/plate in the oven, is not meant to be completely flat... it is shaped as it is for a reason!
