Discontinued ThermoVape Revolution for concentrates

I don't use the DART tip at all. I wanted the DART bottom part, as I didn't want the open side, but all my DART tips are sitting unused (2 or 3 of them). What I have been doing, with great success, is cutting the tiniest bit off the end of the PG ampule tip, then holding it over the top of the open DART core (this would be the same for a standard Revo core too), and gently squeezing the PG ampule. Since I am holding the open ampule tip just above the core, I can see what's coming out of the ampule, as well as where it's going when it drips into the core. I am able to easily "dose" one drop at a time this way, right on the center of the ceramic disc. I cut down a paperclip, which is the perfect thickness to "plug" the open ampule tip, to about a half inch. Then I bent one end into a tiny loop, and just put the straight end into the open ampule tip (which extends about 2mm before it flares out and becomes the ampule). I had a "plugged" half full PG ampule with me all day, in all manners of positions, and in 10 hours it didn't leak an iota.

Using a paperclip to plug the ampule is GENIUS! :science:

I had originally planned to load my dart the way you described (but w/o the awesome paperclip plug). The dude at the dispensary was pretty adamant about how thin (relative to waxes and oils), sticky, and difficult to control PG was. That discouraged me from dropping the PG directly from the ampule, so I decided to put it into a dropper bottle figuring that I'd be able to squeeze out the PG. However, it ended up not working (too little fluid in the dropper to create adequate pressure).

I know how you feel! I had my first taste a month or so ago, in VERY limited quantity, and I missed having it sorely. I really like the delivery method I described above, so I don't think I'm going to be using the DART tip, but squeezing a drop out of the ampule itself is pretty easy, and works well from full to empty, so you should be able to drop/coat your DART tip without too much trouble or waste. Maybe your current "dropper" that you put your PG into isn't the best container to use? Maybe those here who do use the DART tip will chime in with their experiences. From your message I presume you're getting your PG in the squeeze ampules, not in the narrow vials with a cork in the top?

Yeah, I'm definitely gonna put the dropper bottle on the back burner and prolly retire it entirely. I'm gonna try squeezing the PG directly into the heating core first before I try loading the dart tip.

Yup, I had the ampules. Has anyone tried the GoldMist or GoldCaps?

For anyone who's in so cal and who has a license, I've found 2 spots that have PG; one in the OC and one in LA.

PM me if you'd like to know...

i don't have access to PG here personally, but i am guessing a pipette in a dropper bottle may work here

.

Thanks so much for the PureGold paperclip 'plug' suggestion- it's going to make it so much easier to transport when I'm out and about. I've also been loading my Dart by squeezing a drop of PG directly onto the ceramic disc (however, I have been using the dart tip as my MP). Works great and very easy to load - even on a public beach (I load it while ostensibly 'searching' for something to eat/drink in my rolling beach ice chest). So if any of you fellow FCrs see someone floating by blowing clouds while on an inflatable raft, give a shout out - it might be me (LOL).

So my LHS got Delta 9 carts in. I was tempted to buy a pack but i don't have a screw adapter yet. But then i got to thinkin, isn't it kind of a waste? I mean if im only supposed to load .5 for no leaks in a D9 cart and still have around .2 in resin that i can't vape and i can load .1 in my Rev and pretty much get all of it vaped why even bother buying non-replaceable carts when i have one cart that will last a long as fuck time? So i think im gunna opt out on trying D9 carts for now and just enjoy what TV has blessed me with:peace:

Your call, of course, and no denying Revolution/DART is a super product, but it also retains concentrate. Not as much (typically about .1 gram when I weighed them early on). At that point, just like Omicron, you top it up and go again.

With Omicron that retained .2 or so gets vaped out when more is added and replaced by the last .2 you put in. Eventually you loose some, but hopefully it will be part of several grams so percentage wise it's pretty small.

No doubt about it in my mind, Revolution/DART has the strong advantage with taste and hit volume control. You get bigger hits if you wish. But you have to load it ten times or so more often. Sometimes it's nice to just kick back and let the Omicron feed the (more modest usually) hits out one after another. Your call, but IMO they both have their uses. It's really nice to be able to screw the other style on when the urge strikes.

I see what you saying and i feel the same way, even though i've never tried a D9 cart. Im just waiting until i can find a screw adpater locally(which probably won't happen) or if i put a planetvape order in sometime in the future. Just trying to say i don't feel the need to jump on it like i did prior to owning my thermovape.

edit: and for the record i ran about .1 maaaaaaybe .15 all night in my dart and i was :D all night! Time for some goodnight dabbin!

Give it time everyone, were still buttoning up the loose ends, give it a month or so.

What you should be focusing on is who's going to get the last T1?? Ill let you know when i see the last serial number. :borg:

Were going to have a sale starting tomorrow with the items and kits we have left in stock, there will also be a few package kits so you can get in on some of the last goodies. :science:

As soon as I'm able to get pictures you will be the first to know, don't you worry. But it will be under a new thread with the devices name so keep an eye on the top threads. I'm estimating 2-3 weeks but dont mark my work, may be sooner or a little longer. :)

Cheers,
Tim:goat:

Is there a discount code for this sale?

Tim's (finally) telling the truth....this time. I just got back from a brief visit to check out their new shop (very cool, but the hot rod BMW is elsewhere.....). He outlined some of the stuff he's thinking of releasing. Neat stuff, including some prototype units that 'didn't make the cut' for full production runs. Some low power versions (slower but easier on the battery life), higher power (might combust) versions and so on. As well as some interesting 'Evolution experimenter kits' for those guys who are throwing the heatshields aside and putting the UFO on top and the like. Strikes me as successful Beta Test stuff (I recall testing a couple of them out a while back in fact) that fell into the 'special user' category. IMO some neat 'add on options' for us existing owners.

Sounds like once the stock of parts is gone, so is the offer. My advice would be to 'get them quick, before they're all gone'. Really tasty upgrades ahead, stay sharp.

Can the rev combust concentrate like the t1 can combust herb? Or does it max out temp wise around 400? My buddy was telling me the hits he gets with his Rev vary in quality and sometimes don't taste as clean/pure. So I just wanna know whether to take that risk into account when my Rev arrives. Thanks guys

I don't think you can combust it (no fire....) but it can get hot enough to cook the goods. It's a matter of definitions. Combustion is where Hydrogen and Carbon in the material use heat to combine with Oxygen in the air to make water (H2O) and CO2 and extra heat which feeds further reaction. A 'cherry' in your pipe, not vaporizing. This does not happen in Revolution IMO. It won't 'run away' with the extra heat generated by burning material.

When the concentrate starts to run low and production drops off it's time to add more, not lean harder on the heat. Watch out for too much on the other end of course, but 'running dry' is not a good thing IMO.

I have had an iOlite for 2 years but after 3 warranty returns in that period and it not being robust enough although certainly stealth enough i looked for a replacement... i considered the Arizer Solo but I have a da buddha at home and so did not see point in something that was not stealth, not droppable, had a glass mouthpiece and a beeping noise, not very stealth so...

after much research and advice directly from thermovape via email and phone prior to purchase i decided to invest in a ThermoVape Revolution specifically to use when out and with pollen hash (pictured below), had it 24 hors now and not happy....

After looking at the T1 with the bowl i thought initially this was the one for solid crumbly pollen but TV advised me (plus site info and forums) that the Revolution was the model and after getting it i just cannot see how?! The crumbled hash even when drawing lightly got drawn into the mouthpiece and your mouth...so i put a small piece of gauze below the mouthpiece, even though not ideal as you want it sitting on ceramic...

that was my first issue, the main one is no decent hit and believe me i have tried many techniques and methods, i was not expecting it to be as easy as iOlite, plug and play but once technique nailed i would be happier with TVR, I'm not, i can taste a mild pollen flavour but the hit is a wind up, it never satisfies and leaves me heading to another vap, my da buddha.

Don't get me wrong I'm not expecting the vapor clouds the da buddha creates but all I get with this is warm air not even sign of vapor when i blow into cold space, outdoors or freezer. i do get a 'hit' (if you can call it that) but its so mild i need to go to my da buddha after to be fulfiled

i have emailed TV as think for substance i use 90% of time it cant be right model despite their input and what i hear....

any advice or input? i want this to work, it looks great, fantastic parts and build but that means nothing when it does not do what you want...plus i got stung for import tax to UK, that hurt

Sorry you're having troubles. Pollen will be a huge challenge (which is why I guess it's not normally recommended), there's just no resin there to melt (Bubble and other hashes have at least some), you're trying to fry in a dry pan. It's conduction, the material has to be in mechanical contact with the hot surface, and you're trying to make that happen with microscopic dust that's not even round most likely.

I know it's not what you want to hear, but for pollen I'd have suggested Evolution, not Revolution I think. Evolution is a convection vape, it does the good work with hot air, not physical contact. Same as Iolite and Solo (which are working for you). You'd need some 'gauze' or I think better a bit of the pad Volcano sells for such concentrates in their convection vape under it to keep it out of the heater (those of us with access to bud and with jars of ABV around use that instead usually).

How to make it happen with what you have I'm not at all sure. Thinking out loud, I wonder if mixing a bit of some high temperature safe oil (like Peanut oil?) might improve the contact and 'deep fry' the pollen rather than let it rattle around on a dry surface? If you had bubble, wax, oil or other resin based concentrates available that would be ideal but if you did you'd probably be using that, right?

Again, I'm sorry you're having troubles, but it's a tough material to vape this way.....as you've discovered.

I also am a consumer of vast amounts of pollen -very similar looking hash to what you have posted.....
I ordered the TV evolution and volcano liquid pads with the advice of OF for the same reasons you and he mention.

I am still waiting for my order to be dispatched! Two weeks today! NOT HAPPY!
But as soon as it is through my front door you can be sure I will try it out with some hash of this sort and post the results. I live in UK, so when they do FINALLY get my products in the mail, I will still have to wait around 2 weeks for it to get here. So if it helps I can test before you buy if you have the patience.

best

Wow, 2 weeks? Something is not right. Maybe it shipped and the notice is screwed up? Maybe it 'got lost somewhere' (AFAIK a first??) but it should have gone out in a few days same as all the others. Unless it had glass or other stuff that's been in short supply? Still 2 weeks is 'too long'.

I'd send Brother Tim an email and ask him to look into it.

Best of luck. Looks like if this doesn't do the trick I'd better never re visit the UK....... Lucky I'm not using my real name I guess?

I sent this 4 days ago.....

"hi i made my order on 09/04/2012 and my product still has not been dispatched."

and in reply i got....

"You're right. It will be sent out as soon as everything has been built. We haven't forgotten about you."

You are right it is "too long" and I am not very impressed with their blasé attitude.
Clearly they are happy to take orders even though they don't have the stock.

it isn't very difficult to solvent extract from kief.
for pressed hash, i warm the iso first, to get it to dissolve. then cool it before filtering. waxy kief shells get left behind in the filter

after evaporating, it will look like you have half as much but really its all there just twice as strong.
