Anyone been successful in getting rid of the dark ring that forms inside the gong joint?

I have one and it is a dark circle around the small hole closest to the male gong.

Have you used a Q-Tip dipped in Iso ? It's worked for me everytime. It's a bit easier if it's still a little warm. You can always try the Magic Eraser too.

I think this has been covered a few times in the thread...but, the basically, ISO + Q-tip, and patience. as stated above, having the unit warm can help. WARM, not ON or heated up and turned off, etc. Once you get the ring cleaned away, make sure to regularly clean your Clouds male joint. As pappy said somewhere, IIRC, "If it's sunday, I'm swabbing the male joint of my VXCloud..." or something along those lines.

Not everyone is the same, but I find that cleaning my HT after several uses, or a heavy session, or before I put it away for any period of time, keeps it from ever needing a long soak or intensive cleaning; I clean the male joint of the Cloud regularly as well, just not as often. I try for 1-2 times per week, but have gone for more than a week without having much issue cleaning the joint.

Haven't posted in a while, so just to chime in with everyone else, I still LOVE my Cloud, and am impressed by it more and more with every session!

I'm loving my Cloud too! Just used the darn thing. :freak: I'm still getting VERY satisfied after one ELB, loaded about 50%. However, I spike my bedtime ELB with hash, so I use less herb in those cases. I clean my male joint () with ISO as well, though I've only done it while the unit is cool. I also tip the Cloud upside down while I do it so ISO doesn't leak below the tiny hole.

Now, I might be a simple Unfrozen Caveman who is sometimes frightened and confused by all this fancy vaporization technology, but I can handle large pulls of dense vapor, and the Cloud is the best of all my vapes in that category--it's far more satisfying to me than when I used a bong in my combustion days. In fact, for combustionists who mostly smoke out of a bong like I did, and take pride in holding large bong hits, I'll bet a paycheck the Cloud could convert them to vaporists after one or two draws at noon or above. Throw some hash in there and, well, forget about it!

I would agree with you there. I think it does an amazing job at extracting all the actives. I prefer higher temperature vaporizing and this thing does it better then any other I have experienced.

Firing up the cloud to 3o'clock now... been running the pax all day, I almost feel like I'm cheating on my cloud. :brow: So many fun amazing vaporizers hitting the market right now, we are a spoiled bunch (at least I am) It's been an interesting and fun journey so far in the world of high quality vaporization.

I can confidently say that the vapexhale cloud is the best vaporizer I've ever used for bubble hash and kief.

Getting dab-like flavor even at 2pm packing a decent amount of fine bubble-hash granules. The kind of flavor that stays on your tongue for a good minute.

I've gone from dabbing 2-4 times a week to 2-3 times a month :o

So I pulled the trigger on getting a hydraline and can say that I have absolutely no regrets.

I feel like it produces the smoothest vapor out of the hydratubes. The wider mouth opening (2.7 cm diameter vs. 2.0 cm on my hydratree and 1.9 cm on my hydracirc) is a plus in my book. Originally I wasn't into how it looked, but it's grown on me. I still think it looks a little funny sitting on top of the cloud, but as a stand alone piece I think it's beautiful.

When it's upright, it stands pretty precariously by itself; I have much less anxiety with it lying down. However, I have a custom hydrastation coming from tstat that will remedy this problem. :) The hydrafeet shown on their fb page are pretty sweet, too.

Not really a fan of the splash back, but a few pieces of ice and/or slower draw solves this problem.

As a few others have mentioned, it's much smaller than I expected. From the pics on the vx website, it looks like the hydraline is the tallest of the hydratubes. obg also mentioned that his hydraline was taller than his hydracirc.

However, as you can see my hydraline is the shortest of the three hydratubes. I know that not every piece of glass is going to be exactly the same, but is this large a variance in height normal? Anyone else have a short hydraline?

It's not that I'm not happy with my hydraline. In fact, I prefer the smaller size. I was just curious about the variance...

Anyhoo... I feel that it's time to finally post my thoughts on the cloud. Many have already sung the praises of this mighty device so I don't have a ton to add. I will say that although the first hit from other flower vapes that I've tried (pax, t1, mflb, volcano, solo, ud) has always been tasty, I think that the first hit from the cloud takes the cake.

I've been using a flower/hash/flower sandwich in my ELB's with the cloud at 12. HO-LEE-SHIT! Smooth and delicious hits, dense clouds, and excellent extraction of actives. 'nuff sed.

Man, every time someone posts about the HydraLine the more I wish I had one. Really does look pretty amazing. I'm hoping to pick one up at some point, but really looking forward to the Devastator. Can't wait to see how that operates, still waiting for SM55 to post the video :-). Maybe, he went to sleep at 9pm like me hahahah :-).

I've been using the cloud for about 2 months now almost everyday. I've previously stated my thoughts on it but I want to give a recap now that I've had more time to use it.

Pros- best delivery system of any vape on the market. I used to run my no2 through a water pipe using an attachment all the time and I loved it so when the cloud hit the market I had to have one.
Pretty good tasting vapor. Sorry but I'm still going to have to give the best tasting vapor award to the volcano.
Excellent extraction. Highest I've been since high school.
Easy to clean as long as you get some iso.

Cons- One of the major disappointments I have is the elb. I honestly don't like the fact that this beautifully crafted all glass vape system has a steel bowl piece. If this thing was actually all glass there would be no competition. But I strongly feel the elb takes away some flavor.
I wish I knew the min and max temps. I've read that there are a few different firmware models and each one seems to have different temps. I know playing with it will teach you which one to use but with a ten min heat up time I would much prefer to know the exact temp I'm vaping at.

This is definitely a "cannaissuer's" perfect vaping tool however. And since this is a relatively new company with a strong affection for fucking combustion right in the arse, I know the clouds future is going to be great. The sky is the limit! Pun intended.

Volcano - Air goes in through filter, then through silicone tubing into mechanical pump, then through another silicone tubing into plastic pressure chamber and through another silicone tubing to big aluminium heat exchanger. Then through all-steel vapor path into plastic bag. If that tastes better than VXC for you I doubt its becuase of the ELB being steel. I think it actually water taking out significant part of flavor. Try the Cloud dry or salt the water and you will get much more taste.

After all experience I've learned it's not about a number, but its feel. Every vaporist can taste the temp, right?

Agree 100%. There's no way the elb is more of a detractor, taste wise, than all the metal and tubing used in the 'cano.

Yesterday was the first op for me to really get a good workout with my hydraline. I also don't care for the splash back, but that changes entirely with the ice cubes. If ease of draw, smoothness of action, moisturizing, and cooling is what you're after, then the hydraline with ice is the way to go. I'm really surprised at just how comfortable it is, even compared to the hydracirc - enough of a difference that I can set the temp higher and yet get cooler feeling vapor. It's easy to pull in more vapor than intended; it's that soft. Just amazing.

However, I don't know how this would do for top-shelf taste connoisseurs. I don't have access to such quality flowers, I'm no judge of this. But if ice in fact dilutes a great taste, then that might be a consideration.

As far as the height, I wonder if your hydracirc is taller than mine vs the hydraline being shorter? I took more precise measurements; my hydracirc is 8 7/8" and the hydraline 9 1/8". Not enough diff to matter.

I've been using a flower/hash/flower sandwich in my ELB's with the cloud at 12. HO-LEE-SHIT! Smooth and delicious hits, dense clouds, and excellent extraction of actives. 'nuff sed.

Thanks to the generosity of another FC member (you know who you are ), I have some top-shelf tightly-pressed kief that I've been mixing with my mid-quality flowers. At first I did the sandwich too, but what I found works even better is to mix it together. I just break the hash into little pieces and roll that with the grind between my fingers so its evenly distributed. Just .1 flowers + .05 hash lasts and lasts, with the Cloud it is the gift that keeps on giving.

IME there is no such thing as an exact vaping temp. There can be an exact setting, i.e., whether analog or digital the heater is consistently the same for a given setting. And the Cloud excels at maintaining its temp throughout the session; there is no fall-off. So 10:30 is always 10:30, it's predictable. But the temp of the vapor itself will vary depending on other factors such as load, dryness, pull, etc.

Yeah you're right. Idk for some reason I feel like my cloud just doesn't produce the amazing flavor everyone talks about on here. And I've tried everything to make the flavor as best as possible. Iso cleanings, hitting it dry, etc.

Wow, I got these new ELBs a while ago, and today I decided to use one, holy crap it fits perfect. I was scared, but it just fits right in.

Edit: Actually, it looks like this ELB is not sealed properly :-(. I wonder if that affects performance. I couldn't really get my typical hit out of it, using all the same variables.

Yeah, I'm not sure. That's pretty interesting though. It tastes damn good to me. I have never tried a volcano, so I only have a limited number of experiences to compare it to though.

That just happened...
Here is a explanation. With the cloud you can power through a elb in one toke. You get the full range of flavor in your herb all in one go so you taste the "average". With the volcano it holds a lot of dope and takes a few bags to get all the goodness out of it. So the first bag will be quite flavorful because you are getting the initial goodness only. The final bag doesn't taste nearly as good.

Yeah that makes a lot of sense. I have two more questions for you all. First, the main tube in my cloud unit isn't exactly lined up, I've seen a few pictures of other units and you can see straight through it if you look down into it. Does this mean I might have gotten a defective unit? And second, my hydra tubes mouth piece is pretty small, so I can't fit my lips in it like a normal bong. But thats normal right? And please don't think I'm saying negative things about the cloud, because its seriously all I've been using lately. The things kicks ass.

By the tube not lining up, do you mean that the interior section orifices (the smaller holes) don't appear to be vertically aligned? Given how the tube is constructed, it would be weird if the tube itself were not uniform. By chance is it that the orifices are not exactly identical in size?

My hydracirc's mouthpiece ID is exactly .9", the hydraline's exactly 1.1". The smaller ID is a little more comfortable for me, but the larger ID works better with for the ice. My bong OTOH is a much larger tube; I don't care for larger pieces like that for vaporizing - too much air, not enough lung.

So I measured my hydratubes.

It looks like you are correct, sir. I got a taller hydracirc AND a (waaaay) shorter hydraline, making the difference in height more apparent.

Or maybe I got a shorter hydracirc and a taller hydraline. :D

I've noticed on ALT that sometimes there is a "height not exact" caveat. Maybe that's the case here.

Yea, there are always variances in height, etc. with blown glass. We have been finding that there is even variance in the depth of the HT joint sometimes!
