$1100 for a peyote pillar? Yay or nay. And how is it with the cloud? Is it overkill?

Thx

I'd do 1100 on that. That's my dream piece and then some. SM made a vid a while back with the Cloud/Peyote Pillar but im not sure if it's still on YTube

I will own one at some point in the next 10 years.

Depends on the particular pillar...:hmm: Some are up to $2,500.00! (which is usually for heavily worked pieces) I think it sounds pretty fair, but might wanna see some pics... I know SM had a video with a pillar at some point on yousetube. Here it is now!

It looks like it works great, but I guess it comes down to how much diffusion you prefer. Hope this helps!!

Pillars are $1100 for a clear one (retail price), you wont get a better deal unless you know someone who has one and is willing to sell it cheaper.

Oth, I just saw that aqua labs had a $4000 peyote pillar that had a lot of work on it - a $3000 premium for the work seems excessive to me but I guess not for someone.

At one point sm55 had a vid of him hitting the vxc out of his custom peyote pillar bub, not sure if it's still up, if it is, it should give you an idea of what it's like to hit it.

Personally, I think the peyote is a great hitting bong and mates very well with the vxc - no clearance issues, not too much restriction on the draw, great diffusion, monster hits. Some might say the pillar has to big a volume, and diffusion for great taste, however, I would say that because you can take a much larger hit, the quantity of vapor that you take in makes up for those differences. Huge tasty clouds every time!

Is it overkill? That depends on you, it's perfect for me. I have always preferred to have a slightly larger bong than my fellow fc members, those small little bubblers just don't cut it for me.

Thanks for all the input fellas I'll post a pic or two of it before I make the plunge, but I'm pretty much sold on it! Yeah I saw that one on ALT pretty crazy, but I could never afford a worked pillar, shit can barely afford the clear as it is lol.

Is that a bubbler peyote! Never seen one pretty cool.

yeah, I am unclear too, I just got my Cloud a few weeks ago, also bought extra ELBs (some are too fat to fit in the Cloud) and a Tshirt. Didn't have the FC code then. I guess I'll hold off on another purchase until it's more clear.

From VXL's IT Director, quoted from my inbox, regarding the coupon code when making a recent purchase:

"The coupon is actually for when you buy a Cloud"

MacRadish,
Here is a vid of my adapter I got from PV. It makes using the cloud so much more enjoyable on many of my pieces that were awkward before.
Excuse the commentary

I bought a cloud a few weeks before the codes were available.

I'll give it a whirl and try it with an ELB purchase and hope VX team honors it.

No piece of glass is worth 1k. Sorry... I think the Peyote Piller is way overrated. I don't get how it could be that much better. From what I hear it does not hit much better then most 400-500 water pipes. I always saw the Peyote Piller as a status symbol piece... more hype then it is worth. I would rather buy several other glass pieces for 300-500 instead of $1k for a single piece. You have to think about the price point to performance ratio. At a certain point in time you are going to get diminishing returns for the investment you put it.

I'm with you on this, SLM... I collect functionality in my percs. I love a lot of glass "art" and might have some pieces someday that I purchase sheerly for the aesthetic value depending on what happens to the market for Boro. Don't think I would personally spend more than about $600.00. I am a big fan of Sovereignty and my next move with them is to finally pick up a recycler. This is a piece that I feel will have great functionality as well as showing off what a glass blower can do with his art. It's fun to see the water swirling around in and out of various tubes as well! :brow:

I just saw some of the new Mobius pieces yesterday and I was amazed!! but y'know how it is with "GAS" control is very important in this area...:uhoh: I don't wanna lose mine...

This is how I have always felt until I discovered SG recently. I figured can always resell it at the same price if not more maybe. But still undecided. I have a worked sg natty and clear sg mini. So I was figured sell those an it won't hurt so bad when getting the pillar.

Which new Mobius? The Faucet series? I just picked up the Matrix Disk. The 65T and the Matrix Disk are my two favorite pieces I have ever purchased... I have owned 30+ glass pieces in my life. I still have most of them. Allot of them are left over from my smoking days and have built in push bowls and such... so they don't work for vaporizing.

Also, allot of people tend to look at glass as buying an investment. They feel like they can turn around and sell it. I have never actually sold any of my pieces. I am always afraid of being ripped off or stolen from. I was robbed once so I am hesitant. So for me, when I buy a piece that money is gone. I no longer think of it as an investment. It makes it harder to justify purchases of glass that cost more then $500.

You also have to worry about your investment breaking before you have a chance to sell it and recover you money. I just don't take that risk anymore when performance wise the 500 piece will hit very close to the 1k-10k pieces.

@slightly You should try BM man I jus joined and already bought 2 pieces and about to sell one. Very legit site man no member one there with solid reviews would risk their membership by scamming someone.

I thought about that, but you need to buy 3 glass pieces and get feedback from the seller in order to upgrade your account in order to sell. I have too much glass already... I don't want to buy 3 pieces in order to sell what I already own. :ugh:

Hey SLM-
Check this bad boy (or girl) out! :ohttps://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=471080136243816&set=a.471080016243828.112357.139226136095886&type=1&theater

It is very desirable IMO!

Here is something I have been meaning to ask y'all on here, so here goes: I believe that 18mm joints (with or without adapters) work best with The Cloud™ Does anyone else here concur with this opinion? I have one 14mm piece that works flawlessly, but my Nate Dizzle Swiss Perc is not (IMO) a good fitting piece with the cloud. For whatever reason it delivers a big hit, but the draw seems rather restricted. I would love to hear what others think about this...

Hey man that's what's I thought too slightly, but all u have to do is make three purchases doesn't all have to be expensive pieces. For example I bought a 18mm stopper and that counted as one. Only cost me 10 bucks or so. They have plenty of assessories too so something to think about.

Yeah, something just feels off about this code thing. I did just spend almost $600 at VLX, but the fact that my timing wasn't good, I don't get in on the code... and here I sit with a 4pk of ELBs that don't fit right. Maybe I should go contact VXL about this one. Sorry to whine on the forum guys, something just doesn't feel right about this one.

Hey SLM-
Check this...
Here is something I have been meaning to ask y'all on here, so here goes: I believe that 18mm joints (with or without adapters) work best with The Cloud™

I usually only purchase 18mm for this reason. I always felt like 14mm was restrictive... particularity back in my combustion days.

That piece is nice, although I wish it had a 18mm female and not the male. I don't use oil rigs much, so I prefer the classic female joint. Even when I do oil I prefer to put an adapter on my pipe so that what the nail is sitting on is not actually part of the piece. it reduces thermal shock on the glass piece itself. If anything cracks from thermal shock it will be the $40 adapter and not the $400 piece.

I was thinking about doing some little purchases. I just have yet to find anything I want to spend the money on.

I think you should file a support ticket. Re the website, IIRC it was posted earlier that the site changeover required dumping the database they had, so accounts have to be re-created.

What is the Faucet series? . . .

Er, Facet. I considered those pieces, but there is only 5" from joint to mouthpiece and I don't want the Cloud right in front of my face.

^ OH, FACET! I thought there was still something newer when you said that. No biggie- Yeah those are sweet pieces. I almost got one of those, but the Stereo 60t was available first, so I got that. I feel pretty happy about it however. Can you note some differences? (bubble stacking abilities, easier draw etc.) I like the compactness of the Facet disks, I think I would go with the Penta if I had a chance to do it all again...

The coupon code was not available at the time you purchased, what doesn't feel right? My buddy signed up for the Cloud 3 days after the special pre-order price was over, should he have got the $350 price point I did for signing up earlier? The response from VXH in an email is that it is for when you actually buy a Cloud. Post #6281 states the response a member got inquiring about it. They already said in prior posts to contact them about ill fitting ELBs, they would replace them. Lots of people spent 500-600, should they all complain about this too.

Whats not right, is someone trying to take advantage of an offer that was clearly not intended to be used the way some people want to use it.

um I think I get your point, I am not trying to take advantage of anything here, I simply want ELB's that fit my unit really, and it would be nice to be able to still use the code being a recent customer, but I am not here to argue, so it feels off to me, that's my deal I guess. I was just about to make another purchase, and wanted to know if the code would be good with any purchase, that's how this thing got started.
